Chapter 27 - Adam's Blacksmith

'What is Gate Key grade D mean?' Rainn asked this question in his head while being carried by Vyra. Soon the two of them arrived at the large dining room. Zarone is nowhere to be seen. Rainn wonders where the man went.

"Wait a minute. Looks like the food will be here soon," said Vyra. Rainn just nodded and feels grateful in his heart that he could save lunch for today.

Vyra then went somewhere and left him alone. Rainn took this opportunity to contact Tut.

'Yes?' Tut answered almost instantly.

'What does this Gate Key mean?' asked Rain.

'It is a key to open the Gate. Gate is a hidden location that you can find anywhere in this world. Unlike the World Dungeon which is located in another dimension, the Gate is something like a secret door that still exists in this world.' Tut's explanation is immediately understood by Rainn.

'Then where can I find him?' asked Rain.

'A notification will appear when a Gate is near you.'

'Hmm. Ok, I understand.'

'And the Gate is distinguished by its grade. The lowest is Gate grade D and the highest is Gate grade SSS.'

Rainn widened his eyes, 'Then every Gate has a reward according to its grade?'

'That's how it is.'

Rainn nodded, 'Ok. Pretty simple.'

Rainn felt that Tut's presence had disappeared. Waiting for him to call it again sometime in the future.

Elsewhere, Zarone was in a closed room. He didn't want to risk this conversation being overheard by others. A black cell phone was stuck to his ear. Zarone was busy listening to the person on the other end of the phone talking.

'Ah, so I want to meet him.' said the man in a voice full of curiosity.

"I'll show him to you later. Before that, what do you think happened to the kid?" Asked Zarone.

'Maybe he's just talented.' replied the man simply.

"Is that even possible? He seems to have more than three magic attributes. And he most likely has a great affinity with all that three attributes." Zarone said. His voice sounded a little worried.

The answer from the person he called didn't come right away. After a while of waiting, Zarone finally heard his voice again.

'Then he is very very talented.' That person's voice wasn't as relaxed as before anymore. 'If you can, keep an eye on him. Maybe we get something big.'

"Well, of course, I knew I had to keep an eye on him. Call 'that guy' and tell him this." Zarone said.

'Well, I'll call him right away.'

After that, the telephone connection was disconnected. Zarone put his cell phone on the table and left the room.

When Zarone arrived at the dining room, he saw Rainn sitting there alone. Zarone sat beside him which was the farthest seat. The chair is usually occupied by the head of the family.

"Where's Vyra?" Zarone asked.

"I don't know," Rainn replied.

"Hmm, maybe she's in the middle of preparing the food," Zarone said, more to himself.

"What guild are you in?"

Rainn only answered by shaking his head.

"Oh!" Zarone looks surprised. "Why is that? Are you a hunter who prefers the challenge of hunting alone?"

"No, I'm just a part-time hunter," Rainn replied. That answer made Zarone even more curious about Rainn. If he is just a part-time hunter it means he is a weak hunter. But based on their sparring earlier, Zarone didn't feel that Rainn was weak.

"You should be able to become a middle-level hunter in a guild," Zarone said while looking at Rainn. His changing tone made Rainn also look at him suspiciously.

"Oh, I see," Rainn said. He met Zarone's gaze for a few moments.

"AHAHAHA! I'm sorry. Maybe I sound presumptuous, huh? HAHAHA!"

Zarone's sudden change in mood made Rainn look at the man strangely. But he didn't say anything. Maybe this is just how the man's attitude is.

Then Rainn asked, "Can I ask you something?"

"Hm? What?"

"You know anything about weapons?"

Rainn really wanted to ask about this after getting a weapon from his first World Dungeon. But he just remembered now especially after being in front of a veteran hunter like Zarone.

"Weapons? Hmm, well. I know a little. But I'm no expert. What do you want to ask?"

Rainn thought about the name of the weapon he got that time. "Do you know what the Elemental Gem Shortbow is?"

Zarone raised an eyebrow, "Elemental Gem Shortbow? That's a pretty rare weapon. What's the matter? Do you have any?"

Rain nodded.

"Hmm, if I remember correctly, on the shortbow there is a place where you can put Elemental Gems. Then you can shoot arrows with elemental attributes according to the Elemental Gems you put on the bow," Zarone explained.

Rainn thought that he could get information like that from Tut. He just needed to know how to get the Elemental Gem, repair the weapon if it broke, or maybe strengthen it. Basically, Rainn just needed to know someone he could rely on upon regarding the weapons he might get in the future.

Rainn nods his head, "I see. Do you know somebody who understands that?"

"Of course," replied Zarone. "But where did you get that weapon from?"

"I found it lying in a cave while hunting. So I kept it to myself before anyone found out." Rainn had already prepared an answer on that.

But the answer was not convincing enough to deceive Zarone. He was a veteran hunter and Zarone knew that such weapons could only be obtained by special order from blacksmiths.

"Oh, I see." Zarone nodded with a smile. He is more convinced now that there's something more with this boy.

Soon Vyra came along with the servants to bring food to the table. Rainn's eyes seemed to glisten when he saw the many delicious foods that he rarely tasted placed in front of his eyes one by one.

"Please, enjoy your meal. Don't be shy and pretend you're eating at your own home," said Zarone.

Rainn ate voraciously regardless of anything. He was enjoying a few of the luxuries he could get at this time.

Rainn knew that Zarone or Vyra must be looking at him with a strange look. They may find it shameless. But, Rainn was too hungry and engrossed in the pleasures of food that he might only be able to enjoy once a year to care about that.

~~~
Rainn left with a happy face and a full stomach. All the pain in his entire body had disappeared as if nothing had ever happened to him.
He headed straight for a place that Zarone pointed out. It was a two-story building within district five. Rainn heard many sounds of metal clashing from within. Accompanied by the sound of screaming and swearing that seemed to be a daily routine in this place.
Rainn knew right away that this was the place he was headed to according to Zarone's instructions.
When he went inside he saw a sour-looking man smoking behind the counter. On the table in front of him was a finished cup of coffee.
"Is this the Adam's Blacksmith?" Rainn asked the sour man.
He exhaled his cigarette before replying, "Yes, what do you want?"
"I want to buy an Elemental Gem."
