Chapter 29 - Bounty Poster on the Street

Rainn waited for two days without anything significant happening. He continued training to increase all his stats. Rainn undergoes very strenuous training. Sometimes he would come to Vyra's place to borrow her training equipment when Zarone wasn't home because then he wouldn't face that man again.

Rainn felt that he would be better off training with Vyra than Zarone. Vyra will not make his whole body feel crushed after training.

But there is one news that makes Rainn feel surprised when he comes to Vyra's house. Vyra said something after the strenuous training they did.

"I want to create a guild," Vyra said at that time. Of course, the first thing Rainn did was laugh at her. How could a sixteen-year-old girl create her own Guild?

But it turns out that Vyra is not joking. And it can happen. There were no rules forbidding a sixteen-year-old person to create their own guild.

"You want to join?" Vyra's question could not be answered easily. On the other hand, he wanted to try a guild that didn't contain elders. But Rainn knows that he has a strange power that no one else should know about. At least not now.

"I can't," Rainn said at the time. There was a slightly disappointed look on her face. Rainn didn't know why she could be disappointed by his refusal because they weren't that close.

The days passed and finally the call that Rainn had been waiting for arrived.

'This is Finn. From Adam's Blacksmith. Your bow is ready." Fin's curt speech excited Rainn.

He immediately left his basement residence and headed for Adam's Blacksmith in district five. As usual, the place was never devoid of the sound of metal hitting metal and loud swearing to overcome the sound of metal hitting sound.

Rainn meets Fin who is still in the middle of forging something. As soon as Fin saw his presence, she motioned for Rainn to follow her into her room.

"It's quite an interesting job. The material of the bow is so good that I can install three Elemental Gems at once," explained Fin.

"Three?" Rain asked.

"Well, you didn't tell me what Elementals you wanted so I assumed that you wanted to install in the three slots at once."

Fin took the bow from the glass cabinet behind her and placed it on the table. "This is it, your bow."

Rainn took the bow and watched it under the light bulb. Now there are three blue, red, and white round stones attached behind the handle.

Suddenly, a notification from Systema appeared before him.

[ Item Name: Elemental Gem Shortbow. ]

[ Rarity: Rare. ]

[ Description: A shortbow crafted by an unnamed expert. Made of high-quality Livetree wood. Its string is made from excellent quality wolf sinew, it's an uncommon material around these parts of the world. ]

[ Ability: Can shoot arrows with fire, wind, and lightning attributes after the Gems are attached. ]

Not long after that, the transparent text disappeared. Rainn put a smile on his face because he seemed to have gotten a very good item.

"Thanks," Rainn said to Fin.

"Anytime," Fin replied with a smile.

Rainn came out of the place with a bow that had been put in a black plastic container. Rainn put it on his shoulder.

He had to quickly learn how to use a bow to use it against the Vampire. Two days had passed and Rainn had received a warning about the Main Quest's time limit being almost up. That means it can be confirmed that today he will fight the Vampire, or the Main Quest will fail. If the Main Quest were to fail, Rainn couldn't do anything.

Tut said that he didn't need to search, he just needed to wait for a notification from Systema. So what was the meaning of the investigation he had been doing all this time? Rainn wondered.

'Everything has a purpose,' said Tut from inside his head.

'Oh yeah? What's that?' asked Rain. Although he was already sure what answer Tut would give.

'I can't tell you.'

'Hmm, as expected. Anyway, can you give me a lesson on how to use a bow?'

'I can't. My knowledge is limited on that,' replied Tut.

'Aren't you some kind of god of knowledge from another world or something?'

'No.'

'Then what are you?'

'Couldn't answer it.' Tut's answer sounded like an irrevocable decision. Rainn gave up on finding out.

Rainn walked towards the metro train station leisurely. Enjoying a quiet afternoon while daydreaming about what has happened to him lately. He didn't expect his life to change for the better after being nearly crushed to death by the cave's ceiling.

Suddenly he saw a poster stuck to a pole by the roadside. Rainn walked over and read the text on the poster.

'Bounty: for whoever manages to find the killer of Mr. Treytan from House Saniar, a bounty of 50,000,000 Ryo awaits you!'

Rainn's eyes widened, '50,000,000 Ryo?!'

He could live comfortably for years on that kind of money. His Main Quest would yield more rewards than he thought. If he succeeded, Rainn could get rewards from completing the Main Quest and this prize money. A smirk appeared on Rainn's lips. He was getting more and more excited to look forward to today's events.

"Are you interested?"

Rainn stopped where he was when he heard the voice of a woman dressed in a white coat reading the same poster in front of her. The woman didn't look at him, but Rainn knew she was talking to him because no one else was there.

Rainn decided to ignore her and walked past the woman. Judging by her attire, that woman was an Investigator, an elite member of the Federal Bureau of Royal.

"I ask you, do you want to take this bounty?" The woman asked in a louder voice. Rainn stopped and turned his head around.

"Yes," Rainn answered, short and concise.

"As I thought. Judging from the reward prizes, it would be stupid if you didn't want to. Even if you were an ordinary person. I think money can make people act stupid." The woman continued to babble.

Rainn didn't really care about her ramblings. But Rainn knew one thing. If a bounty like this is set, it means that the Investigators can't do their job properly.

Rainn just snorted. Then he turned around.

"Don't be rash. If you interfere in Bureau's business, you have to deal with us," the woman said.

"None of this would have happened if you guys had done your job," Rainn replied without turning to look at her. He started walking.

The woman snorted and took a cigarette from her pocket and lit it.

"Brats this day full of himself. What can that boy do when we Investigators can't?" She muttered.

She stared at the bounty poster pasted presumptuously. Which seemed to hurt her pride as an Investigator.

Smoke billowed from her cigarette, the woman tore off the bounty poster and started walking. She tore up another poster as she passed, angrily.
