Logan jumped from his room's window, landing silently on the ground. He didn't want to come out from his room, so he wouldn't startle Stephanie.
'Incredible.' He thought to himself, after landing so silently that even he had issues hearing it.
If this wasn't happening to him, he wouldn't have believed it. The thought of going to the hospital to get himself checked came to mind, but he felt odd. What if they found something strange going on in him and decided to keep him there for experiments?
'Forget it, I'll figure it out myself. If things become too difficult, I'll ask for Cass' help, he's quite smart.' Logan told himself.
His cellphone was still broken, so he took a flashlight with him. However, he was stunned when he realized he had no issues seeing well in the dark. He had noticed it these past few days, but this was the first time he was coming out of their house at night since the event.
Walking through the woods, he soon got to the old cabin he usually sits in. Sitting there, he could perfectly hear everything happening around him, it was as if all the creatures in the woods were all next to him.
Not just that, but he could also perceive their scents. Before he knew it, it was already past midnight. The peaceful moonless and cloudy night suddenly started to change as the clouds moved to the side, exposing the half slightly red moon.
The second the moon came into view, Logan started to feel agitated, breathing heavily while slightly scratching his body. Not forcefully, but occasionally.
He quickly came to the decision that it was time for him to go back home since it was already very late.
On his way home, the agitated feeling increased, and his blood started pumping faster and faster. He could barely keep himself standing.
'What's happening?' He was frightened by what was happening to his body.
He had never experienced something like this before, and from how he could barely stand, and all the sounds and smells seemed to have been enhanced by over double their usual sensitivity, his head started aching from the pain of the sounds.
He used both hands to cover his ears, trying to stop the sound. As time went on, he managed to struggle to the exact spot where he was attacked, he unconsciously sat down by the tree where he supposedly 'died' from the attack.
Hair started to grow out from his hands and face. Nevertheless, he was oblivious to this since his head was ringing from the noises.
The hair on his head grew longer, and the length of his ears, and fingernails increased. His eyes turned from amber to bright blue. Not just that, but his teeth started to change as well.
When he was trying to process what was happening to him, he caught a whiff of a familiar scent. The second he caught the scent, he couldn't control himself any longer, with large strides he ran in the direction of the main town.
The footwear he was wearing had been destroyed by the protruding nails on his legs. His body height increased by a few inches, but his size didn't see any changes.
After running on two legs for a few minutes, he changed to running on four legs. His face was barely recognizable because of all the hair, but those close to him would be able to recognize him if they saw him.
He breezed through the woods with unprecedented speed, if he were in his right mind, he would've been shocked by how fast he was moving. He would be particularly shocked by his method of moving, which was on all four like a wolf.
In the main town.
In a dark alley, eight men were beating up three other men with bats and rods. These men could barely protect themselves from the eight people beating them up. Blood was all over their bodies, with injuries on their heads and hands.
"Stupid morons. You came out from your hiding today, did you think we have forgotten about what you did?" One man asked as he swung the bat in his hand.
Bang!
The bat landed on the head of one of the three men on the ground, and the man screamed in pain. His scream was distorted because he had screamed too much, and his voice croaked.
"P...p...please, it... it will never happen again." One of the men struggled to speak, begging the eight men.
"Haha, of course it won't. You'll die here and now." The man who threatened Logan during the day snickered as he said while swinging the rod in his hand.
Clang!
Before the rod hit the man, they heard a clanking sound, as if something hit one of the dumpsters in the alley.
The men froze and turned to look behind them.
"Go check it out." The man who threatened Logan said to two men.
The two men nodded before taking out pocket knives. The rods were on one hand, while the pocket knife was concealed on the other hand. If the person there tried anything funny, they would kill the person without hesitation.
As they approached the dumpster, they both heard a low growl. It was so faint that they both thought the other person didn't hear it.
The alley wasn't a one way road, it intersected with other alleys. Right before the dumpster, one of such alleyways was present.
The duo looked at the place vigilantly as they approached the dumpster, but they didn't see anything. People rarely moved during the night in Dixon Town, mainly because of the fear of encountering these gangs. Even the police are rarely active.
Besides, these gangs weren't the only things to be scared off. There have been reports of wolf attacks in these areas as well. People originally thought it would only happen in the woods, but there had been times when people were killed in lonely alleys, even some of these gang members had been victims.
As the duo walked past the alley, one of them stopped as he felt something holding onto his left leg. Just as he was about to look down, he fell over as he was dragged quickly into the dark alley, disappearing from view.
Before the other man could react, he too was dragged into the dark alley.
