Logan researched about werewolves almost throughout the night before ultimately falling asleep on his chair, with his monitor still on.
The next morning.
Castiel woke up just before sunrise, and seeing Logan sitting on the chair, he shook his head with a chuckle. They spoke during the night and when he was about to go to bed, he remembered Logan telling him he wanted to read about something online. He never expected Logan would fall asleep on the chair while reading it.
He walked forward and when he was about to wake him up, his hand touched the keyboard of the computer, and the screen lit up.
He couldn't contain his curiosity, so he looked at what Logan said he wanted to read about.
"Werewolves?" He muttered in confusion.
He recalled Logan's reaction when he told him about werewolves.
'Why would he be searching up werewolves?' Castiel was genuinely interested in this topic.
Over the years, he had thought of the possibility of werewolves being the cause of all the attacks in the town. The few eyewitnesses had spoken of seeing large wolves, and some even claimed these wolves stood on their hind legs and had muscular arms which were covered in fur. The last attack had almost the same description.
Although werewolves were myths, he felt that there wouldn't be a ripple in the water without disturbance. There must've been a reason something like this came up in the first place.
Looking at the monitor, he realized this wasn't the only page opened, there was another page on the side. He took a peek at Logan who was still sleeping before stretching his hand towards the mouse. Just as he was about to grab it, he felt a powerful grip on his hand.
"What are you doing?" Logan asked, his expression, bland.
"I'm just checking something out." Castiel replied as he tried to free himself from Logan's grip.
He was stunned when he realized no matter how he tried, he was unable to. Naturally, he wasn't as powerful as Logan, but it didn't mean he was weak to the stage of being unable to even free himself from his grip. They were long time friends, this wasn't the first time Logan was holding him like this, but the pressure behind this grip was unlike something he had felt before.
"Let go." He said after being unable to free himself.
"Oh, sorry." Logan realized his grip was too firm and quickly let go.
His expression was back to usual.
"Werewolves?" Castiel used his eyes to motion at the monitor.
"I came across an article and checked it out, it's nothing." Logan gave a vague reply before exiting the browser.
Castiel didn't question him any further, but internally, he concluded to get to the root of the matter.
They soon prepared for school, and after eating their breakfast, they left for school.
Stephanie was as playful as usual, Logan and Castiel accompanied her to her school before they walked to their school. It was a distance of around 6-700 meters, so they had no issues with getting to school before class started.
While the duo were walking on the road, Logan heard something and hastily turned around.
A car was approaching them quickly, from what he could tell, the driver seemed to be panicking. He could see him struggling.
Without even thinking, he grabbed Castiel's right hand and rushed to the side. The distance was too short and with the speed of the vehicle, it was impossible for Castiel to dodge if he told him.
Bam!
The car crashed into the side of the road, and the duo fell to the ground after landing.
Castiel had a lost expression, he was about to reprimand Logan when he saw the car. He didn't even hear it coming!
Only now did he understand what just happened, Logan saved him.
"You're bleeding." He saw Logan was bleeding from the side of his left hand, just below his elbow. From the look of the injury, something must've scratched him when they got to the ground.
Logan looked at his hand, and he saw the scratch, "It's nothing."
Luckily, Castiel had extra clothes in his backpack, so he tore one and gave it to Logan to cover up the wound. At least this would stop the bleeding.
"We should check if the driver is alright." He suggested after he finished wrapping up the wound.
Castiel nodded, and slowly approached the vehicle.
When they got there, the driver had passed out from the vehicle hitting one of the trees by the side of the road.
The car was locked, so there was no way to open it and get him out. Castiel looked around for a stone and used it to break the window, thereby opening the vehicle.
"He's alive. Should we wait or call the ambulance?" Logan asked when they were bringing the young man out of the vehicle.
"Even if we call the ambulance, we still have to stay here with him until it gets here." Castiel replied.
They placed the young man on the ground before sitting by the side.
"I didn't even hear it coming, if not for you, I don't know what would've happened." Castiel was still shocked about what just happened.
"We were lucky, I still don't know why I looked behind us, but I'm glad I did." Logan lied with a straight face.
He couldn't tell Castiel he heard the car coming. What he found strange about this however was that, even if the brakes of the car failed, since when were cars silent when moving on the road. And this young man was clearly conscious, he should have at least horned so they would get out of the way.
"Me too." Castiel said as they waited for the ambulance.
The ambulance got there in a little over thirty minutes. While they were taking the young man into the ambulance, Castiel recalled that Logan was injured as well.
"He's injured too, you can just stitch it up before leaving." Castiel pointed at Logan's hand.
Logan however wore an odd expression, the reason for this was that before the ambulance arrived, he noticed something odd, his injury had healed.
