"What's the motive in mind now, Frank?" Sophia asked curiously as she lifted her head to look straight into his eyes. " Just wait!" Frank uttered patiently, signalling Sophia with his straight jutting arm. He paced slowly towards both the fellows while keeping his expression serious. His manners were like a warrior ready to fight a duel with them.
" Look he is approaching. What shall we do?" William turned his head towards Henry and cupped his palm around his ear, whispering quickly.
" We will paralyse him with our guns. Position yourself " Henry whispered back.
As Frank stood in front of them, he noticed both the fellows shifting their palms slowly to their waist. As both the fellows brought out their guns, they let out a raspy voices from their wide opened mouths. " Attack!" commanded Henry, to which William reacted by lifting his gun, positioning it between the hollow of his thumb and finger.
As he shot a blue flare at Frank, Sophia pressed her palms to her face tightly, in shock. She sat on her legs, failing to raise her gazes. " ouch!" the hoarse voice of William rang like an alarm in her ear, in an unending rhythm. She raised her face to notice William dropped to the ground unconsciously.
Sophia's orbs shifted to Frank" How did you survive his attack" She asked in an inquisitive tone. Frank showed her the tiny round glass mirror supported by a golden chain and tied to his pocket. " I always keep that with myself."
Then, Looking straight at Henry's shocked face, Frank paced slowly towards him. " Gentleman, your fellow is quite impulsive. 100 fellows like him may challenge me and drop on the floor with a hit." As Frank was about to complete his sentence, Henry cut him off " You can't take her away." saying so, Henry began hypnotising Frank with his bewitching eyes.
Frank's eyes turned purplish when suddenly Henry felt like he was hypnotised too. Henry kept clasping his hair in bewilderment. "What's happening here. They both are bewitched." Sophia spoke in a curious tone and clasped her hands in distress.
Suddenly, Frank's eyes reduced the purplish glare and he was free from the hypnosis. But, Henry was under its impact. Frank kept scanning his pockets, his both hands to make sure no harm has been conjured on his body. His eyes trailed upwards to look at the other fellow with a snarled expression." Every charm they try on me is immediately reversed."
" Henry is charmed, we should leave quickly," Sophia uttered as rapidly as she could, causing her throat to become raspy. Frank placed his hand on her shoulder, assuring her," We won't leave this palace too quickly. We have to be guided till the end. I had lived 121 days on this earth but don't know about the secrets of this palace. Now, he will tell us about the secret door of this palace. "
Turning his basilisk eye at the unconscious fellow, Frank ordered," Mr. you know your duties. Tell me about the mysteries of this palace." Hearing it, Henry started to mumble. His lips continued to shiver, failing to split up at Frank's order. " Ahh" Henry continued to mumble the same word.
The Hamilton's Palace was much more than what people addressed as a structure carved out of sandstone and cement. It had several folded mysteries inside, which when opened to outsiders could create chaos for the whole nation. No one, not even Eddie, dared to search for those mysteries, though he knew a lot about such areas.
" What, you don't want to let it out? Did you disobey your master? Now you should suffer the punishment through the magic of this stick." Frank brought out a dark stick from his jacket.
As he was about to strike his stick on Henry, a familiar hand grabbed his hand tightly. Frank looked up only to find Eddie staring at him with a furious expression. He turned Frank's body straight to face him.
"Did you just try to make him leak the confidential information of this palace?" Eddie looked into Frank's eyes in the same fashion. " That's why I didn't share that information with you. You always tried to destroy this palace, because you thought it was just a building installed on the ground. You neither understand its sentiments nor mine." Eddie's eyebrows furrowed while he stood with crossed arms.
" Forget about the secrets, but if you tried to stop me and Sophia, I will," Frank uttered in a consistent rude rhythm when Eddie cut him off. " I won't stop you, gentleman. You both are free to leave this palace and go anywhere. You are free to roam, live or die. But don't do anything with my palace. it's mine and you have lost your right on it." Eddie spoke in a polite tone. His manners were that of a professor.
"Are you not stopping us anymore?" Sophia's eyes opened in excitement, with her lips slightly parted upwards. " Yes, miss, you heard it right. I will no longer continue with this drama. You are free. But there's a condition." Eddie spoke.
" What?" Frank asked.
" That Sophia won't come back to this palace, after being cheated. I will not be receiving her back. Like other people, she is now a stranger to me. I can't exaggerate much, you both might have understood it." Eddie spoke in a serious tone.
Having completed his sentence, Eddie turned his back on them. He walked away in the opposite direction. Sophia kept looking at his walking figure. " Sophia, let's go," Frank uttered candidly. Sophia shifted her gaze at her lover and both walked hand in hand to the main door.
Throughout the darkest chamber, Sophia acted dumb. She felt like some lullaby entered her mind when she took leave of Eddie. The lullaby continued to play in a sad rhythm in her overthinking mind. Sophia had heard this tune before, but couldn't remember the whereabouts of it. It was making her heartache and anxiety climb levels.
