" That's a good idea, but I am dropping it. That's because their parking arrangement is not so satisfactory. How can we park this deluxe car there?" Frank challenged his guards' statement while shifting his gaze at both of them.
The answer needed to be given lest they should do away with their jobs. " We will park the car in front of the store. It will hardly take five minutes to buy food, master. You can trust us. " One of the bodyguards, with a tag name - Adam, tried to convince his master while keeping his neck faced at him. His voice was lurching.
" One extra minute and you are fired!" Frank freaked out, snapped his fingers, and signalled them to the store. Sophia was startled at her lover's mastery in regulating conduct, making her comprehend the entire culture of his mansion. Time runs his house, and decides the fate of his members.
Even the thoughts of being replaced with a new mistress within a few days of disconnecting crept into her worrisome mind. " If I had lost touch with him for longer, I would have been replaced." this thought evoked anxiety in the middle of her chest. She continued to take long breaths to stabilise her mind.
" Please can you lower the windows?" Sophia spoke while managing to catch her breath. "Okay, fine." Frank pressed the window button while keeping his gaze stuck on Sophia's tilted face.
When the windows were completely lowered to their place, Sophia leant her face forward, resting it in the empty square space. Then closing her eyes, she bent her head, not touching the lower portion of the door. Her eyes were partially open.
In that limited stretch of sight, she could glimpse a stranger in the ages of seniority on the lookout for some help. He had a long greyish beard, ginger wrinkled skin, wore a sweater and carried a walking stick. He was all alone, waving his stick over the road for the taxi drivers to stop by.
His cries went in vain. Several vehicles passed by, overlooking his presence. The worst part was when he couldn't have a chance to get through the rush of speedy cars. His pace as a tortoise couldn't compete against the herd of rabbits. The best he could do was ache his throat with more cries.
" That poor old man!" Sophia whispered as her eyes shimmered with an indication. Her whisper was overheard by Joe whom Sophia assumed to be asleep. " What you say," Joe spoke in a numb voice. " He needs help!" Sophia yelled as she jumped on the seat, exhibiting leather creases underneath her burden.
" Ignore him and sleep for a while." Joe's eyes were about to shrink in sleep when Sophia pulled his body to straighten him. " What do you want now?" Joe was agitated.
" Joe, I know you are soft-hearted, unlike your harsh brother. I know you won't hesitate to help that old man at present. It's better to show generosity while others are ignoring it." Sophia uttered at a soft pace, pressing her hands together.
" Yes, I am soft-hearted but I am not fool-brained. Why should I allow a stranger to explore my expensive car and cast a devil's eye on it? He might be a burglar other than someone needing help. That's why no one is risking to stop, got it?" And then his eyes moved to watch her, still flaming her motives inside her eyes.
She was not going to give in easily. She was a creation of all the sensitive virtues God had bestowed on her. She was born in the month having a few birthdays. It might be a scarcity of qualities on the part of God that failed to give her harshness, wit and cruelty.
" Ok fine! I know I can't challenge your sensitivity. We will give him a ride to his place provided he has a genuine reason." Joe put forward a condition with a firm tone.
Sophia's nod gave him confidence. Joe got out of his car and called for the old man in a loud neutral voice " Mr. come here, we can offer you a ride." Hardly had he completed the sentence when the old man turned his head to face him. His wide brows stretched up and his lips parted to the edges on the wrinkled face. His eyes were crammed with tears.
He came striding to Joe and shook his hand. " Thank you, young man, you don't know how your kindness will help me. A few hours back, I received a call at a shop that my wife is not doing well. Her condition was deteriorating day by day, and today she could hardly catch her breath. She lives in the cityside and the locality where the young millionaire lives. Do you know that millionaires' house?" He quavered while stretching his neck to glance into the tall gentleman's eyes while looking for a hint.
Joe bit his lower lip while rubbing his tongue on the upper jaw's hard palate. He paced towards his car leaving behind the staring old man. Then suddenly his steps stopped. He turned his face at the silent old man and signalled him to his car. " Come follow me!" His blue eyes gave a calm indication, confirming his positive intentions.
Unquestionably, the old man followed him to the car. Joe opened the door to his car to glimpse Sophia hugging the car pillow, revealing her adoring expression to Joe. " Love you, my hero." hugging the pillow tightly.
" Sit on the back seat. We will reach the destination in about four hours. Our destination is also cityside." Joe spoke in an advisory tone. He had his bodyguards know about the new member in their car and so the security should be tighter. He even scolded them for not purchasing a water bottle for the journey. After all, he was their master, never satisfied with his guard's efforts.
Throughout the journey, no one put a vigilant eye on the old man. The old man laid tip-to-toe on the car seat until they reached his home destination. Like a dead body in a coffin, he made no whispers to ensure no distraction to the other members.
