Chapter 27 - She will not die

"Lord Edwin."

Edwin wafted his hand and the strong hold on Ramin's hand was released. Ramin dropped his hand and bowed his head still in shock to see Edwin there. He wasn't expecting to see him, and now that means he was in trouble as he failed to protect the one who Edwin told him to protect.

Edwin looked at the unconscious Amby on the floor and he felt worried seeing her that way. As long as Ambrosia fainted, she will too but she must have had it worst. Seeing her position, he knew she fell from the second floor. Ambrosia can heal herself and is strong enough to protect herself, but Amby is just human and the life core of both herself and Ambrosia's. If Amby dies, Ambrosia will be wiped off from the surface of the earth and that will mean the end for the vampires.

"Amby," he called with his voice so gentle and soft, but was filled with worries and sadness. He went to her and knelt beside her, examining her body for any wounds or broken bones.

"I am sorry lord Edwin, I let this happen to her. I failed in my duty to protect her and I deserve every punishment you would give to me." Ramin pleaded, not daring to look up as he was filled with shame. Edwin considered him to be one of the strongest fourth rank vampire, but he failed to do his job well. He failed to protect Amby.

Edwin glanced over his shoulder at the downcast man, "This is not your fault and was meant to happen," he replied and went on, "Do not expose our identity next time. You know what will happen if our identity ever get out."

Ramin raised his head briefly and looked down again, "I am sorry, lord Edwin."

Edwin sighed and checked her pulse. He heaved a sigh of relief seeing she was still alive and wouldn't die. Just a touch from Darren caused the two ladies to go unconscious, who exactly is he? There was something about Darren that is powerful. Who is he?

"We should take her away and go get her treated. We need to hurry lord Edwin before she dies." Ramin voice out with his voice filled with concern.

Edwin stood up and looked at him, "No, the humans will treat her themselves."

"Sir?"

"She will not die. The humans will take care her. All we just have to do is to make sure she is protected." He looked at Luther, "And who is he?"

"He is the chairman's son. Luther Vladimir."

Edwin nodded and looked at Amby and then back to Ramin. "I think I can trust him to take care of her. We will take care of her from the shadows."

Ramin breathed out and nodded. Edwin is his lord and the one who should be more worried and concerned about Amby.

Edwin run out of the hall with a lightening speed and Ramin followed suit. Immediately the two left the building, everyone unfroze and their memory of Ramin disappeared.

Luther looked around as if trying to search for someone but shrugged it off and thought it was just his imagination and nothing else. He looked at Amby and rushed to her.

"Amby!!" He called. He checked her heart beat and sighed in relief when he felt her beats. He looked up and his eyes met with Joanna's who was panicking in fear. When their eyes met, she took a few steps backward and run away.

"Security, get her!!" he yelled pointing at the door she ran to.

The building was getting lousy as people kept coming closer to see the girl who had fallen from the stairs. But Luther was more concerned about Amby as he placed head on his thigh. "Call the ambulance." he shouted at anyone, while not looking away from Amby.

In a few minutes, the ambulance arrived and Amby was carried away with Luther going after her. For the first time, Luther felt uneasy because of her state. His heart was racing fast as he stared at her. He felt different about Amby, something special towards her and the thought of losing her, shattered his heart.

Far away on a tower, Edwin stood by the edge with his eyes focused on the moving ambulance. Ramin was behind him, pacing about why bothered about Amby and how she was doing.

Edwin had told him not to worry and just leave it to the hand of the humans but he was uneasy about it. Even though he was once human, he hated them because of what they did to him many years ago.

Over a hundred years ago, when he was still a poor human, he was bullied and insulted by everyone, that it lead him to attempt suicide.

While almost falling down a cliff, a hungry vampire appeared to him and bit his neck, sucking out his blood but before he could finish him off, Ramin fell off the cliff. He thought his life was finally over as he was slowly losing consciousness and closed his eyes to accept his fate.

Just when he thought he was going to finally lose his life, he felt his body been pushed away by someone or a bird, he just couldn't identity who had pushed him away because no one was there when he was opening his eyes and he was going towards a different direction in a high speed.

Before his body could touch the floor, he saw a man wearing a black coat and a hat, standing at the direction he was falling to.

Instead of falling hard on the floor, he fell gently on the floor. He was shocked and bewildered because he was still alive even after falling that long distance. He looked up and his eyes caught the intense gaze of the man on black, staring at him with red eyes.

He crawled back in fright until his back touched a rock.

"Stay away from me." He cried out, shivering in fear.

"Do not fear, I am here to help you. All your pains and sorrows will disappear and you will have the power to defeat those who hurt you."

"What do you mean?"

"You will become part of us and have supernatural abilities you humans have never seen before, but first you must sacrifice your life. Are you in?" He questioned stretching forth his hand.

Ramin thought about it and saw it as an opportunity to get back at the people who hurt him. He became eager to have the abilities the strange man told him and didn't have to think much before taking his hand and sacrificing his life for it.

The strange man who happened to be Edwin, rose him up and that was the end of his life as human. Edwin made him promise to pay him later in the future when he want his help.

Ramin looked at Edwin and could see the worry on his face even though he was acting tough and trying not to show his worries.

Amby do mean a lot to Edwin but Ramin wondered why a vampire lord would be worried about a human girl, or could it be Edwin is interested in her?

He shook his head and looked ahead on the street. Even though the ambulance was far away, he could see it clearly from the height he stood.

She was his mistress and he promised to do everything to protect her because she is his duty and responsibility. He has to do every thing to pay back Edwin for changing his life for the better.
