"I don't have all time to waste here. Say what you are here for or you leave." Ambrosia urged.
Edwin finally took his gaze to her with a deep frown registered on his face. "I do have something important to talk to you about but not in front of him." He answered, referring to Darren.
"To my room!" She ordered and vanished.
Edwin glared at Darren before he left too, leaving him all alone again.
"Stupid vampires, always having a way to disappear and appear. I hate that I am here." Darren muttered and went back to his room.
"What is the matter?" Ambrosia questioned, standing by the window with her eyes looking at the city far beyond.
"Well, there have being news about vampires roaming the city. We have new rogues to deal with and this time, they are going for the humans. They are turning large numbers of humans into vampires. So far, sixty five humans have being turned and the cops are not planning to seat on this. If this goes on, our identity will be revealed to them," he informed and waited for her to reply but she said nothing.
"What should we do about it?"
"Nothing." She dryly replied.
"Huh? We should do nothing about the vampires going to turn the humans."
She lifted a corner of her lips and looked at him over her shoulder, "The humans should sort themselves out. It is their problem anyway."
"But our identity...." she cut him off.
"You can't be the only one worried about the identity. No one else is worried about the humans knowing so let it be that way. The humans would handle it and I am not speaking on this matter again," she answered firmly and faced outside the window again.
Darren pushed the door opened with a frown on his face. He didn't mean to eavesdrop but he was grateful he did.
"You are going to allow your people go after mine? We humans don't have the power and strength to major up to yours and you want to take an advantage of that?" he questioned burning with rage.
"You shouldn't listen to our conversation." Edwin snapped but Darren ignored him and walked to Ambrosia instead.
"You have to stop your people. You have to stop them from turning the humans. You are their queen and you have the power to do that."
"You should leave. This meeting is not for you." Edwin yelled at him but Darren remained adamant.
"Do something about this," he half yelled.
"Who do you think you are to try to command me?" Ambrosia voice roared in the room as she faced him with her eyes red like a burning furnace ready to consume him.
"You are nothing but a servant here so maintain your lane and do not interfere in my matters again. You worthless human. You should listen to me instead." She warned giving him a threatening look.
Darren boldly walked to her and stood right in front of her, only some inches away. He smirked and replied, "I am not a servant. I am not your darn servant. I can never be a servant to someone like you. Someone whose whole life has being filled with nothing but misery. Who just hate everyone and everything in this damn world." He said in one breath.
"Isn't there even the tiniest bit of humanity in you? You are going to allow your people turn mine to themselves?" he asked and suddenly laughed, "Why am I surprised? I shouldn't be. You are evil and you should burn in hell." He emphasized on the last sentence and walked out of the room, slamming the door hard.
Edwin's eyes turned red, "What do you want me to do to him? He need to be thought a lesson."
Ambrosia faced the window again. "Let it be." She answered, "What else do you have to tell me?"
"The day we dread is coming soon. Sooner than we expect. Its in twelve days."
"Let it come. I am....." she kept shut when she saw the familiar figure walking towards the forest. Was he trying to escape? Ambrosia wondered as she kept staring at Darren.
"Is there something wrong my lady?"
She shook her head. "Well, no matter the witches plan for that day, they can't do anything to me. Don't forget who I am, the queen of the vampires." She reminded him, but her eyes were still fixed on Darren who finally stopped in front of the tree he met her at days ago.
"Alright then. But, we still have to protect you no matter what. The elites would be having a meeting on that."
She nodded. Edwin wondered what could have taken her attention. It was unlike her to be distracted by anyone or anything.
He squirted his eyes and tried to look out the window but he couldn't get a better view.
"I will be leaving then," he informed and when he saw she wasn't going to answer him, he sighed deeply and left the room.
Ambrosia rested her hands on the window sill still staring at the angry man pacing about. He suddenly stopped and punched the tree hard but ended up getting hurt.
"Ouch!" she heard his cry of pain.
She leaned forward still watching him and it was amusing to her.
"Darn you Ambrosia. You have to make my life difficult don't you? I can't even go anywhere to vent out my anger and I am stuck with this useless tree as a punching bag," he sneered.
"You are a weakling human and can't even punch down a tree," Edwin said behind him.
Darren faced him, fuming in rage, "What do you expect? For we humans to have some sort of powers or what? Sorry, but we were born this way!" he spat.
"Anyway, you have being an entertainment to Ambrosia," he informed looking up at Ambrosia whose gaze wasn't leaving them.
Darren lifted his face and caught her gaze but he looked down.
"Oh great, the woman I hate just had to be there, staring at me," he muttered.
"You know, Ambrosia life has being filled with misery since birth. You were right when you said that. She was raised with hate even though she wasn't born that way," he patted his shoulder, "Good luck handling her."
With that said, he vanished leaving Darren behind.
Darren lifted his gaze to Ambrosia and in a blink of an eye, she was standing right before him.
"What is in that mind of us? Why is it so hard to know what you are thinking? I want to know." She questioned.
