Chapter 30 - I need to meet her

Ambrosia took her gaze back to his eyes and in a flash, she was backing facing him and a hand was held firmly in hers.

Caught in the sudden movement, Darren was shocked at first but when he saw the familiar face standing before Ambrosia, he calmed his nerves.

It was Edwin!

His hand was up and his fist was rolled into a ball while Ambrosia's hand held his wrist. He had wanted to hit Darren but she saved him in a twinkle of an eye.

"Ambrosia you are making a mistake. He was trying to kiss you now." He half yelled, glaring at Darren who didn't move an inch.

"Well, I didn't move and I wanted him to kiss me." She suddenly said causing the two men eyes to widen.

"What?!" They both exclaimed at the same time.

Darren thought she was just trying to send him away but then, finding out that she wanted to kiss him wasn't expected.

"What are you talking about? Why do you want to kiss him? What is wrong with you?!" Edwin asked all at once.

She exhaled and brought her hand down, "What do you want?" She questioned instead.

Edwin was still in shock of what he saw and so he couldn't answer. He had so much to say about it.

...

Luther sat beside Amby in the hospital room she was placed in. Her eyes were closed and a machine was connected to her. The sound of the beeping machine filled the room.

He sat done on a chair beside her, resting his elbow on the bed and his jaw on his knuckles, with his eyes closed.

It's been twenty four hours since Amby fell and she didn't make a movement neither did the doctors brought in the results of the tests and scan carried on her.

The opening of the door made him open his eyes and swirled his head towards the one who walked in. The doctor walked in and Luther stood up with anticipation to hear the result. His hair looked dishevelled and eye bags had formed under his eyes.

Throughout the night, he had been awake watching over her and planned to do so until she woke up.

The doctor stood in front of him and looked at the unconscious lady behind Luther.

"Is she alright? Is there something wrong with the result?" Luther asked all at once, waiting impatiently for the doctor to tell him what she was going to suffer after falling from that high floor.

"Surprisedly, the young lady is perfectly fine. We've done the test, carried out every necessary scans, x-ray, brain tests and all, but nothing is wrong."

"Nothing is wrong? Doctor she fell from a long distance. You should check her again and make sure she gets better."

"This is the third time we conducted a test on her and found nothing, not even a broken bone. She is only in a deep sleep now and will wake up soon. It is still unbelievable that she broke nothing. Miracles happens." he said and handed the result slip to Luther who was still trying to understand everything the doctor said. It was impossible. She was pushed from the stairs down to the last floor and she was alright?

A huge part of him was happy that she was safe and he doesn't need to worry about her dying or going crippled, but the little part of him was still in shock about the doctor statement. Miracles happen but this miracle.....

"Doctor, did you...." Hearing a low groan, Luther stopped talking and looked back. Amby's eyes were opened and were fixed on the white ceiling, staring as if seeing something unusual there. Luther rushed to her side and took her hand in his.

"Can you hear me Amby? Are you okay? Are you feeling any pain?" He questioned wanting.

The doctor slightly moved him away. "Let me handle this," he said to the worried and curious man and moved closer to Amby.

Amby was shocked to have opened her eyes in the hospital. She wanted to ask about Edwin but no words were coming out of her mouth. Edwin always stand by her, but he wasn't any where close.

It's been a century since she got hurt and went unconscious like she did so those years when Edwin was away, she did her best to avoid anything that would put her into danger.

What had happened to her wasn't the fault of Joanna. Joanna didn't push her enough to had made her fall down the stairs. It felt as though her soul was been pushed out of her body. The last person she saw was a man. A familiar man. Ambrosia is the source and that got her wondering what would have happened to Ambrosia as she is never defeated. Or could it be she is the one with the problem?

There were many questions she wanted to ask but Edwin wasn't in the room with her, neither was that vampire sent to protect her. She couldn't sense their presence at all.

The voices of the doctor and Luther brought back her attention to them. There were both bending a bit with the doctor more closer to her. They were calling her but she was far lost in thought.

The doctor brought out a little torch and shone it in her eyes asking her if she was in pain, to which she shook her head.

He turned off the torch and started moving his fingers across her eyes.

"Follow my fingers." Amby did as he said. "Do you feel dizzy?" he asked again and she shook her head.

He straightened up and dipped his hand into his pocket. "She is okay and isn't showing any sign of brain damage. We will observe her for three more days before she will he discharged," he informed and left the room.

Luther sat on the chair beside the bed and moved his hair back but his fingers, "I am so sorry you had to go through this because of a staff. Don't worry, she will get her punishment. Just get better."

"She is innocent." Amby countered, forcing herself to speak out, but in a low and inaudible voice.

Her voice was inaudible for Luther to hear her so he stood up and covered her well with a quilt. "I will wait here with you until you are feeling better. Just let me know if you need anything."

After bringing her to the hospital, he tried calling any one she is related to but didn't see any contact in her phone except her office colleagues. None of her family number was saved in her phone. He was curious to ask about it but held himself from speaking as there would be a reason why she didn't save their numbers, a personal reason. He will ask about it when she get better.

The day was still bright. Amby laid back on the bed as her mind wondered to Ambrosia. Was she okay? Is she awake too? What happened to her?

Those questions kept running through her head.

"I need to meet her."
