Chapter 31 - The lunar stones worth?

Once everyone had gotten their own identification card, they were led outside by Kito, Kenta had asked many others about the situation with his identification card but.

Unfortunately, there were no favorable answers.

He could only except the situation as it was for the time being.

Kenta was standing by the exit alongside Lauren.

"Sir Kenta, are you sure you don't want to stay with me at my estate until the opening ceremony of the magic academy?" Lauren asked somewhat hopefully.

However, Kenta sighed tiredly before looking at her with a complicated expression. "I'm sorry but, my answer won't change, though, I am grateful for all your help... like I said before I will repay you for this someday." Kenta replied.

"Oh, so you haven't changed your mind at all." Lauren sulk hearing that, Kenta wanted to tell her, making that expression made her cute but didn't utter those word.

However, Lauren's deep blue eyes shone faintly as she saw the bloodied wound on Kenta's right shoulder where he was injured.

She slowly reached out her hand and touch that place, surprising Kenta, it wasn't as if he hadn't noticed her hand reaching out towards him, it was just that he didn't think she would touch that place.

"Oh, spirit of water cures him with your divine radiance." she uttered in a faint voice.

But just then her hand was enveloped by a faint glow as Kenta felt a strangely warm sensation filled his body. The wound of his shoulder instantly closed and returned to its previous state.

"There your wound should be better now but, I can't do anything about your clothes." she said with a wry smile.

"Thank you, you have helped me out quite a bit. It seems I owe you one big time, maybe I'll take you out someday." Kenta said somewhat playfully. Hearing his words Lauren raised her eyebrow in interest.

"Oh, are you asking me out?"

"Unfortunately, I'm not interested such things, but I will be repaying you in full next time." He said fully determined to pay her back.

Maybe she felt the forcefulness behind his words as her expression flinch slightly.

".... I see. Well then see you at the academy." Lauren said extending her hand, Kenta slowly reached out his own hand gently grasping her own for a handshake.

Lauren smiled before separating her hand and turned to leave but, not before giving him a warning first.

"Please be careful of Sir Tony, since you had fought with him earlier, he might be plotting something against you when your guard is lowered." she said before stepping before the closed door.

The door instantly opened and closed once she had stepped outside. Kenta stayed their glued in place as he heard her word.

He didn't need her to tell him that of course he was already aware of this fact but, still he didn't care if Tony wanted to start something with him later then all he needed to do was simply kill him at that time, Kenta sighed while raising his vigilance.

Once he had stepped outside the first thing he did was looked up towards the sky, the sky was clear as the rays of the sun spill down and there was no sign of any cloud in sight. It was a stark contrast from when he had looked at the sky earlier that was cloudy and filled with purple lightning.

'To be able to create a phenomenon like that, that spell thunderclap it really is amazing but, what else can it do? Could I manipulate the purple lightning somehow? I only have one month until the academy is opened. Before then I need to get stronger training should come first on my bucket list.' He thought.

There were also matters with his broad sword as well, he recalled the sudden changes to it when he had called it out to face Tony before. He once again sighed before moving forward.

The city was still bustling with life as he made his way through town. His nose sniff occasionally as his stomach growl.

'First things first is to get some money.' He then took out the lunar stones from his pocket before walking into a particular building at the end of the sidewalk he had been walking.

Inside the building showed many different expensive looking items. Whenever someone wanted to exchange goods for money they usually come here, if the item has worth then it can be exchanged for whatever its worth.

"What do you mean it's not worth much, are you blind, old man?!" a loud youthful voice sounded from the counter catching the attention of Kenta who was observing the many different items placed onto the shelves inside the building.

"S-Sir please calm down, like I said most of this artifact is damaged, so it's worth is not as high as its use to." an old man wearing round glasses said somewhat troubled.

"Tch, so you're saying that just because my artifact is damage it is only worth four measly coins?" a young man with short brown hair said glaring at the old man.

Kenta casually ignored the brown-haired man and walked up to the old man around the counter. "Excuse me but, could you tell me how much this is worth?" Kenta asked, showing the gemstone inside his hand.

"Th-This is this is a lunar stone?!" the old man exclaimed shuddering. Even though he was being glared at by the brown-haired young man he ignored him while keeping his focus on the gemstone placed before him.

"H-hey kid! Didn't you see that I was here first? Wait your turn." the brown-haired man said coldly. But he was once again ignored by Kenta. Seeing that he frowns.

The old man examined the lunar stone to see whether or not it was real or fake, once he saw that it was real his smile deepened. "This gem is worth roughly 5000 platinum coins." the old man said to Kenta.

Hearing the words of the old man Kenta's blue colored eyes widened deeply. he knew that the gem he had gotten off his fallen enemy was worth a lot but, he didn't think it was worth this much.

'5000 platinum coins with that much I could easily live as peaceful as I wanted.' He thought to himself. Hearing the amount of money Kenta was going to receive the brown-haired young man couldn't help but look at Kenta with some greed present in his eyes.

"Are you willing to trade it?" the old man asked Kenta.

He nodded his head in confirmation. It only took half an hour and Kenta now had a bag filled with coins. Once the trade was complete, he promptly left that place and went into town in search of an inn.

However, he wasn't the only one who had left that place secretly following him from behind was the brown-haired young man with a serious look on his face.

Watching the retreating figure of the brown-haired man the old man couldn't help but shake his head guessing what he was up to.

"That poor boy seem to have no idea what is coming." the old man secretly prayed for the safety of Kenta but, he had no idea that Kenta wasn't the one he should be praying for.

....

Kenta walked amongst the crowd of people walking by while observing the many different buildings and stalls the faint scent of chicken waffled through his nostril, following that smell he went to a stall selling grill burgers.

Seeing Kenta approaching his stall the vendor snorted through his nose when seeing Kenta's appearance.

His shirt was still bloodied and had torn so maybe he thought he was just a beggar as he tried to get Kenta to leave with a gesture of his hand. 'Sigh, finding decent people is really hard now a days.' Kenta thought guessing the vendors intentions from that.

He popped out a sack and showed the many different coins to the vendor, seeing what's inside made his face brightened up instantly.

"Please come this way Sir I'll prepare something good for you." the vendor said running towards the grill. Seeing the change in his attitude Kenta didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

But he kept an indifferent expression on his face. Soon the man came back with a grilled burger in his hand, an appetizing smell drifted through the air. Kenta paid the vendor and accepted the burger. His mouth watery from the scent.

Kenta took one bite from the bun and smiled happily from the taste spreading inside his mouth. For twenty minutes he enjoyed his meal before setting off to find an inn. He continued to walk through the city of Zaril. "Nn?" His eyes narrowed as he felt a presence behind him, curious he turned around but, no one was there.

"I guess it must be my imagination." he said before continuing.

He walked for roughly thirty minutes until he decided to ask someone for directions,

Kenta had asked many locals about any inn nearby most of them recommend going to the one located south so he decided to visit that one.

He headed into an alley way where he knew there was no one was around.

It wasn't because he had to go there to head south but something else. Since he was going to an inn, he didn't want anyone causing trouble for him. Since he was being followed, he needs to get rid of the unwanted guess.

'It's just us, you can come out now." he said looking into a particular direction. Soon the figure of someone's shadow became visible.

"Not bad kid you were able to sense me even though I was doing my best to not be caught." the brown-haired man said generally surprise.

"Y-you're that guy from that store." Kenta said raising an eyebrow. He didn't expect to see this person here. But he could easily guess what his intentions are.

"Sigh, you followed me all the way here just to steal from me is that it?" Kenta asked just in case even though he was sure that was the reason he didn't want to kill someone over a misunderstanding.

"Oh, hahaha! So, you do have a good head on your shoulder. Then this can be easy give me all you have, and I'll let you leave this place quietly don't be stupid and think about your life." the brown-haired man said smugly.

However, Kenta only looked at him blankly as though he was looking at a fool.

'I had already shown that I was aware of his presence, yet I willingly walked into this place where no one was around, shouldn't he be more cautious of me?' Kenta thought as his face contorted strangely.

"Look I'm busy so I'll make your death as quick as I can." Kenta said while casually walking up to the brown-haired man leisurely. Soon the space between his hand bend and twisted as a magic formation appeared.

Seeing that the brown-haired man quickly swung his dagger in his right hand drawing a wide arc but, his dagger cut through empty space leaving him confused.

He turned to look for Kenta when suddenly he felt a burning sensation on his neck which caused his hand to move to that place subconsciously. "Hmm?" he narrowed his eyes as he saw his own blood had painted his fingers.

A small red horizontal line could be seen on the surface of his neck.

"Well, I still have a long way to go can't be wasting my time now on someone so insignificant." a toneless voice sounded from behind him, the brown-haired man widened his eyes as he saw Kenta staring at him indifferently with a long sword exuding a powerful aura braced tightly in his hand. The brown-haired man was about to say something when suddenly.

"!!!"

The small red horizontal line in his neck grew larger until his vision shifted at the same time the world was turned sideways as his head spun before subsequently falling from his shoulders, soon his body fell alongside his head with a thud.

Kenta watched this with cold eyes as he turns his back and left that place.
