After walking for roughly thirty minutes, he finally arrived at the inn he was searching for.
The inn's exterior looked really extravagant and well maintained even from the point of view of an amateur. Kenta opened the glass door and step inside.
The interior of the inn was just as extravagant as the outside. There were also quite a few people there sitting on the many different couches placed at the corner. Kenta promptly went up to the receptionist who was standing around a wooden table. "Excuse me how much for a room here?" He inquired curtly.
The woman looked at Kenta with slight in differentness on her face. It was like she was tired of her job but, despite her annoyance she put on a bright smile on her face.
"It will cost one silver coin to stay a night." she answered brightly. Kenta took out a platinum coin from his bag and present it to her. "I'll be staying here for a while so; you can have this." He said giving her the coin.
Upon seeing the platinum coin, the receptionist beauty couldn't help but widened her beautiful eyes. 'He is going to pay this much! Is he a noble of some kind?' she thought.
If he really was a noble, then she couldn't keep him waiting she hurriedly took out a silver key from within her desk and gave it to him. "Please enjoy your stay, let us know if you need anything else." she said as cold sweat ran down her back. If he was a noble, then she had to treat him with the at most respect or else she could easily be in trouble.
Kenta looked at the woman who could easily be his mother considering their huge age difference and, even though he was left confused due to her sudden change in demeanor he decided that she was only acting that way because of her work and made his way upstairs.
When Kenta made his way upstairs, he saw many others who were also staying there. But naturally he passed them by while pretending not to notice them but, his eyes made contact with a woman who was dressed in extravagant looking clothing.
The woman had long waist length purple hair and violet eyes which shone like diamond, she was extremely beautiful but, that wasn't the reason why he looked at her that was because... he somehow knew instinctively that this woman was extremely powerful despite her appearance.
There was a dangerous aura surrounding her that even made Kenta's body shuddered slightly. He didn't want to get involve with her, so he hurriedly went on his way while keeping his eyes to the front. However, just like how Kenta had glanced at her for a faint moment the purple haired woman also did the same to Kenta and when she did a small frown appeared on her face.
She notices the young man that had just passed her had a strange aura around him. The aura was neither strong nor was it weak, it felt dangerous yet calming at the same time, she couldn't help but frown uncomfortably when feeling that strangeness.
"Lady Eleanora are you okay?" a young muscular man who was talking with her asked. He was dressed in a white robe with a golden dragon on the back. The purple haired woman who goes by the name Eleanora nodded her head still staring into the direction of where Kenta had headed. "Let's finish this conversation tomorrow since we'll be heading out early, we have to get some rest." she said before heading into her room.
Once Kenta had found the room with his key number, he opened the door with a soft creaking sound and closed the door behind him.
The room was luxurious and wouldn't lose from the room he had when he was living in the orphanage, in fact it was probably far more extravagant from that one.
The first thing he did was went into the shower and cleaned himself before jumping onto the soft bed and allowing the soft sensation of the bed mattress to support his weight it didn't take too long for Kenta to fall completely asleep after that.
.....
When Kenta opened his eyes the first thing, he noticed was that he was no longer inside the room he was previously but somewhere else entirely. He quickly observed his surroundings but, unfortunately, his vision was completely obstructed by thick mist that covered the entire surroundings.
'Where am I? What is this place?' he wondered. However, he didn't feel any agitation nor was there any discomfort.
He quietly moved forward and tried to get out of the thick mist while attentively searching for any place where the mist had lessened. He walked for several minutes but he couldn't escape the thick mist that had obstructed his vision.
'Mm?' Kenta narrowed his blue eyes as he stared into the far distant his eyes caught sight of something ahead. What reflected in his blue pupils was a large lake with a width of approximately 50 meters wide in diameter. And even though the mist was still not cleared he could somehow, he could still see the large size of the lake clearly.
Kenta gently placed his finger into the water and widen his eyes, because even though his fingers went inside once he raised his finger his hand was still dried as though his finger had never touch the water. "Strange, what is this place?" all he could see was the lake, the entire space was blocked out by the thick mist that had obstructed his vision.
"Hehe... Hehe... a mere human wondering into my territory. You should compensate me with your tasty soul." Kenta flinches as he heard a melodious voice whispering into his ear causing him to instinctively jump backwards.
There shouldn't be anyone here other than him was what he had thought, he didn't let his guard down one bit so how? How did someone managed to sneak up on him? It shouldn't be possible.
"Who are you? Show yourself!" He commanded. "Hehe! Hehe! Hehe! How interesting, very interesting, truly interesting. Hehe he!" the voice continued to laugh as though it had heard something funny. "A human giving me a command the arrogance but, that is what makes you humans so interesting." the voice said in a soft tone.
Kenta's face darkened as he felt a powerful pressure washed down on him forcing him down to his knees, it was as if a large mountain was dropped onto his body. Small cracks appeared on the ground it was as if the gravitational field had increased. "Guh." his face grimaced as he felt his bones breaking. "Hehe... yes that is it, the face you humans make when you're about to die truly is fascinating to see." the voice said. The ground where Kenta knelt down slowly turned into a giant crater that was getting deeper and deeper as time passed.
He didn't know why but he had a bad feeling if he didn't get away now he was going to be in serious trouble. 'What should I do?' he wondered. "Tch, thunder spear!" he tried using magic but, strangely nothing happened. "Hehe... Hehe... I'm sorry to say this but, in this place, you are cut off from the world's mana magic cannot be used here." the voice explained.
Hearing that Kenta's face quickly fell into despair. He didn't have much hope in escaping with magic but, hearing the reality really hit hard. Eventually he could no longer support himself with his hand as he fell to the ground. "Struggling is pointless, please give up and become my meal." the voice said cheerfully.
Finally, his anger reached its peak.
How much was this voice going to humiliate him? Not only did they turned their killing intent to him but, they also had the nerve to force him to his knees. Unforgivable! Kenta's usually blue colored eyes turned slightly red in color.
"Tch, become your meal, don't screw with me! You stupid voice! You think I can die here right now? Go ahead and try it! I'll kill you!" Kenta's angry voice thundered. At the same time a strange energy began to appear surrounding his body as an unparalleled pressure engulfed the surrounding.
"!!!"
Instantly all the mist was blown away as a red and black energy surround Kenta space bend and twisted as the 'Soul eater' sword made its entry. Somehow Kenta was no longer being affected by that strange pressure from before as he got to his feet holding the hilt of his sword.
"Th-That sword! Why? Why do you have that sword?" the voice exclaimed shock. "Who are you? Show yourself! Because of you my mood is no longer as good as it was before!" Kenta shouted.
Roar!
The sky was filled with dark clouds as purple lightning filled the sky, even though he hadn't uttered any spell it was as if the sky wanted to show the full force of his wrath. "You have five seconds to show yourself before I destroy everything!" He muttered coldly. At that the soul eater sword shook violently as though eager to eat the soul of their unfortunate fated enemy.
