Chapter 33 - God of death, a terrifying existence from the past!

ROOOAR!

The dark cloudy sky continued to rage loudly as the sky rumbled. Kenta surveyed his surroundings carefully after the thick mist had disappeared completely, finally he could see.

From what he saw he was in some kind of garden the stone tile he was standing on was completely destroyed leaving behind a large crater.

A beautiful garden of flower spread out around him. He also noticed a stone statue of what seemed to be a handsome man holding a sword that resembled his broad sword. But he wasn't in the right mind to pay attention to that at the moment.

Several seconds had passed but there was still no sign of anyone, the voice that had tormented him also became silence seeing the appearance of the broad sword.

ROOOAR!

The thunder continued to rumble loudly in the sky. Thunderbolts fell down to the ground in the far distant, leaving behind craters in their wake as a large portion of the once beautiful looking garden was completely destroyed.

ROOOAR!

The sky continued to rumble.

".... Fine then if you don't want to cooperate with me kindly then I'll drag you out myself!" He muttered. Then raised his hand holding the sword, the blade which was as black as darkness glowed brightly causing the space around Kenta to twist and turned as though it was ripping apart the very space itself. A dark aura filled with negative energy washed over the surroundings.

"Pl-Please s-stop! Alright I'll come out! Just stop that!" the voice said panicking. The mist once again gathered and twist changing shape until it took the shape of a human woman.

The woman's body was slightly transparent and weak it was as if her body could fade away at any moment. It was as if he was looking at a ghost.

But, despite that she was truly beautiful. Her long silver hair and deep red eyes only brings out her beauty even more, however, her white thigh was shaking faintly as though she was terrified while staring at the 'Soul eater' sword.

"You?" Kenta's deep red eyes stared at her confusedly for some time. Strange did he know this woman? He couldn't help but shake his head in confusion, she felt familiar to him and yet strangely she didn't. He sighed before looking at her seriously.

"Who are you?" he asked. The silver haired woman looked at Kenta in confusion. "Eh? You have forgotten about me? Could it be you lost your memories?" she asked. "Huh?" Kenta tilted his head at her unsure of what she was talking about. Memories, lost what memories?

"I don't know what you're talking about but, enough! You're the one who force me to the ground, right?" he narrowed his blood red eyes fiercely at that. "Guh." the body of the woman was forced to go down to her knees feeling the heavy pressure of Kenta.

Her face grimaced as it felt like her soul was being crushed even though such a thing should be impossible. "Wait! M-My soul can't take much more of this! Anymore and I'll be-"

"Shut up!" Kenta's voice roared amidst the sound of crackling thunder. The silver haired woman's already paled face became even paler. "You were the one who started this mess, but I'm the one who is going to finish it." He said calmly.

"Please forgive my insolence I didn't know you were him." she said prostrating herself pleadingly.

Kenta was about to land the finishing blow when his hand came to a sudden stop. For some reason even though he was really angry he didn't want to kill the woman before him, it was as if something inside him was hesitating.

After thinking about it carefully he decided not to kill her. Deeming that he had already pay her back in full seeing her pitiful state.

"Get up." he ordered. The silver haired woman slowly got to her feet once the heavy pressure was lifted. The dark cloud that had filled the sky instantly cleared up. Kenta's blue eyes which had returned to normal looked into the eyes of the woman before him as he asked. "You said something about 'Him' but who are you talking about? Who is him? And what connection do I have with you?" Kenta asked.

His sword was still clutch tightly inside his hand. The silver haired woman seemed to be extremely wary of the soul eater sword as she looked at it cautiously. The woman was a helpless weak soul, before the 'Soul eater' sword that enjoy devouring tasty souls for her it was her worst nightmare just being in the presence of that sword.

She couldn't help but looked at the young man before her curiously. 'Did he really lose his memories? But only that guy could use that sword, no one else had been able to so much as touch it other than him.' she thought.

But then noticed something, how was this boy here in the first place? This was a spiritual plane no mortal should be able to access other than that person.

How could she had forgotten about this important fact! Now she was regretting her bad choice of attacking. "Could you hurry up! I don't have all day!" Kenta said coldly. "Uh, my name is Elena one of the strongest sorcerers that hailed from the kingdom of Oura." she explained.

Hearing that Kenta tilted his head, he had no idea what kingdom that is, he had never heard of that country before, and he had read about many of the neighboring kingdom but, the kingdom of Oura was not one of them.

"Never heard of that place." he said confused. "Haha... I'm not surprised it's a kingdom from the distant past, I don't know how much time had passed in the mortal world, but I can guess that it has been quite a while now." the silver haired woman said sighing somewhat sadly. Seeing that look on her face Kenta frown slightly.

He didn't know if the woman before him was telling him the truth or not but, he decided to believe her for the moment.

It's not like he had any other option either way, Kenta looked at the sword in his hand for some reason it was restless as though itching to devour the nice juicy prey before it. "You seem to know about my sword could you explained it to me?" he asked curiously.

Now that someone had knowledge about his sword, he wanted to use this opportunity to learn more about it.

"Huh? You don't know about that sword? But isn't that the same sword that had been with you since the beginning?" she asked confused.

"No, I don't know what you mean by beginning but, I only had this sword for a week at most since it appeared before me." Kenta explained.

"..... I see, well if that really is the same sword then. It must be the soul eater sword that was created by the god of war also known as the 'God of death.' that was feared back then." she explained. "God of death?" Kenta tilted his head in confusion, also everyone had known about the gods that had once existed in the world billions of years ago before they had disappeared but, Kenta had never heard of this so-called god of death before.

"You say he created this sword?" Kenta asked looking at the sword in his hand. Elena nodded her head and said with a slightly conflicted expression. "Actually, he is the one who trap me here for so long, Hendrix he... he was the man I had loved back then." she confessed sheepishly.

Hearing that Kenta couldn't help but furrowed his brow slightly. 'She was trap as a mere soul by the man she loved, what happened for them to have fight? back then my heart didn't want to kill her was that the reason but, I shouldn't have any connection to this Hendrix, right? So why?' Kenta was confused with his own heart.

"When I saw that sword in your hand, I thought you two might be the same person but, perhaps I was wrong? Your appearance isn't anywhere close to his and your aura is far weaker to his own as well." she said in a faint voice.

".... Could you tell me how strong Hendrix was exactly?" Kenta asked curiously. Elena placed her hand beneath her chin as she answered. "He was the strongest god that existed back then... but that was precisely why he never had a good life; his strength became his own downfall."

Kenta raised his eyebrow in confusion. He wanted to know more of what she was talking about, but the space became unstable as the thick mist once again obstructed his view. But before he could go Elena spoke carefully once more.

"Remember this boy, don't allow your own power to consume you, doing so will only make you go down the same path as he did, eventually leading to your own demise." she explained.

....

When Kenta opened his eyes, he found himself back inside his room staring up at the ceiling walls. He didn't know whether or not that was a dream but, if it wasn't then he needed to rethink a lot of things if even someone like the god of war, Hendrix could fall then Kenta needed to become even stronger than he was, in other words he needed to become as strong as a god himself which was easier said than done. He sighed before getting up from his bed.
