Chereads / My enemy from hell / Chapter 11 - Black out

Chapter 11 - Black out

Karen freed herself from her mother's hug and ran to Hendrick. "Husband!" She said aloud, trying to hug him, but her hands were still tied, so she could only snuggle her face against his chest.

Everyone were surprised at her behavior and Hendrick wasn't excluded, but he got over it and hugged her.

"He didn't hurt you, right?" He asked with concern as he gently pushed her away from his embrace and checked her out.

"My hand!" Karen started to cry again.

"You don't have to cry, I'll untie them for you." He tugged at the rope and loosing it was easy.

Mrs Wilson came closer to them. "Are you okay, my darling?" She asked and touched Karen's forehead.

Immediately she touched Karen's head, she quickly took her hand back with wide eyes. "She's heating up! She's not okay!"

Lauren came rushing to them on hearing what her mother had said.

Karen smiled. "Eating up... I eat yoghurt." Her voice became barely audible and her eyes faltered and that was how she blacked out.

"Karen!" All three of them exclaimed at once.

"Quick, we have to get her to the hospital." Said Hendrick who was now carrying Karen- princess style.

"No. Let's get her home instead. I'll call the family doctor to come over right away." Lauren said.

Hendrick got Karen into his car and the two women also entered the car. He drove them to the mansion while Kai followed behind.

Hendrick honked loudly in front of the gate and Jon quickly opened it.

Jane was still seated outside and immediately she heard the honking, she stood up, biting her fingers nervously and feeling a little scared.

Hendrick drove in and without parking properly, he got off from the car, opened the door to the backseat and carried the unconscious Karen.

Lauren and Mrs Wilson also got off and went with him hastily into the house.

Jane couldn't open her mouth to ask them what happened as non of them did even as little as glanced at her. Fear gripped her heart and it pounded way faster than normal.

She saw Kai get down from the other car and she tried to compose herself. She approached him, trying to be as hard as a rock.

"What happened?" She asked.

Kai glanced at her and almost rolled his eyes. 'Like you care.' He said inwardly.

"She fainted." He simply said and wanted to walk away, but she pulled him back aggressively.

"I'm not done talking! Tell me the full story." She glared at him.

Kai calmed himself down and sighed. "Okay. We were on the road for like ten to twenty minutes, then your mom called a commissioner and he asked us to wait patiently for some officers which he was going to send to us. After waiting for about..."

Jane cut him off by grabbing his collar tightly and wanted to hit him with her already clenched fists, but she refrained from doing that. "Don't you dare test my patience. I'm really angry at the moment. Just do yourself a favor and go straight to the point."

Kai gulped at her unexpected behavior. "Okay, okay, I'm sorry... It was Mr Stan we saw her with. She was in his car and he was surprisingly driving towards the house."

She let go of his collar. "Stan." She said with gritted teeth. 'I should have known he would be the one to play this foolish games... He must also be the one that pranked me to get me out of the house. Just you wait until I see you… but then how would he know that I was the one watching Karen?' Her head was in a messed up state.

She looked back at Kai and asked curiously. "She was already unconscious when you guys found her?"

"No, she was awake. Just that her hands were tied up." He answered.

A gasp escaped her lips which was unlike her. "What! Tied up? What did that bastard do to her?!"

He gave her an awkward look. "I don't know, I wasn't there with him." Then he quickly said something else to kill the venom his words might have created. "The cops would get him to talk."

"He got arrested?" She asked with a smile.

"Would I have said the cops would make him talk if he wasn't arrested?" He mumbled and quickly dashed off before the little demoness would do something drastic.

....

"What?! My son got arrested?!" Felicia stood up in shock when she heard the news of Stan's arrest.

"Yes, Mrs Rodriguez and since it's the Wilson's he messed with, I'm afraid he would have to spend some days in the cell before he gets released." Kevin explained to her.

"Shut up! I'm getting my son out of there today. He would not spend a night in that disgusting cell." She ranted.

Ian and Kevin looked at each other and sighed.

"You two are incompetent. Isn't it your job to protect my son? And here you both are standing before me to tell me my son got arrested. Why didn't you both get locked up together with him or better still get locked up in his place?" Her yelling was nonstop.

Ian and Kevin could only bow their heads a little and said in unison. "We are sorry, ma."

"Oh shut your word holes and get me to the station." She shut them up.

Ian and Kevin looked at each other again and scratched the back of their necks then they back away from Felicia as they were afraid of how she would react to what they were about to say.

"Tell her." Kevin nudged Ian a little.

"No, you tell her. You have always claimed to be superior to me." Ian refused.

Seeing their stupid display, Felicia got pissed off. "Talk! You freaks!" She shouted and Ian quickly spilled it.

"We don't know the exact station he was taken to."

....

The family doctor 'Dr Lucius' came by as soon as he could, but before that he had told Lauren what to do to help reduce Karen's temperature.

He was taken to Karen's room where she was lying unconscious on the bed with a wet cloth on her forehead.

"Lucius, thank goodness you are here. She isn't getting better." Lauren worriedly said.

Dr Lucius went to Karen and touched her forehead. Karen's eyebrows creased when he touched her head.

"She's in pain, most likely from an headache." He said and gave everyone in the room a stern look. "I already told you guys to slow things down. Patience is the skill you need to possess in order to get the old Karen back. Impatience would only put her at risk." He didn't bother asking them what had happened.

"Don't misunderstand, we didn't pressure her to regain her memories. She hit her head this morning right before she left with Stan. Who knows what that crazy kid might have done to her." Lauren explained.

Dr Lucius's eyes widened. "Do you think he might have.."

Lauren didn't let him finish up his question because she already knew what he wanted to ask. "No, he didn't… I already checked."

"That's good then." He opened his bag and brought out an injection.

He paused when he saw that they were not moving from where they stood. "Aren't you all gonna give me some room?" He asked with raised brows.

"How does our presence stop you from doing your job?" Mrs Wilson asked with her head tilted to the side.

"Yeah, I've always wanted to ask doctors the same thing. Why?" Lauren joined in.

"It's distracting." He replied.

"But you don't send nurses out, don't they distract you guys?" Mrs Wilson asked.

Instead of answering the question, he said "Karen's still unconscious." And all of them ran out in realization that they were delaying Karen's treatment.

He gave Karen an anticonvulsant and ran a check up on her to see if there were other things that were wrong.

….

Kevin was driving the car with Ian sitting beside him while their fuming madame was sitting at back.

She had called one of her friends that was well known in the police force. He had helped her make some phone calls across to many police stations and since the Rodriguez family was somewhat popular amongst other rich families, it wasn't so hard to find the station Stan was held at.

They wasted no time in driving to the station, but that was after Felicia had yanked their ears to her satisfaction. She told them it was either that or they won't be paid their salaries for two months straight.

Their ears were still reddish and really sore from all that yanking. They knew she wouldn't leave their ears until she was satisfied, so they faked tears, which wasn't actually hard because of the pain. She was really really mean.

They got to the station and Felicia requested to see the inspector of the police station.

She was taken to his office while Ian and Kevin pleaded with the officers to let them see Stan.

They were taken to a one person cell. Inside it was a cozy bed and there was a door which they guessed leads to the bathroom.

"This isn't actually so bad… well, that's if you rule out the boredom part." Ian whispered to Kevin, but it was still loud enough for the man lying on the bed to hear.

Stan stood up in shock when he had heard Ian's voice, but a smirk soon appeared on his face. "Didn't expect you guys to find me this quick. I really underestimated you guys." He chuckled.

"Your mom was actually the reason we could find you in time." Kevin said.

"Oh my mom… Wait! My mom?!" Stan exclaimed. "You guys told her already?"

"Not both of us. He was the one." Ian pointed an accusing finger at Kevin.

Kevin sighed and looked at Stan who was now looking at him questioningly. "Yeah, I admit it, it was me… I just, I love you so much that I couldn't stand the thought of you spending a night in a cell."

"Aww that's so cute." Ian jokingly said.

"I'm not gonna spend a night in this cell." Stan spoke with confidence.

"Oh, he already has a plan." Ian excitedly did a shoulder bump with Kevin.

Kevin smiled. "What's your plan? Let's see if we could be of help."

Stan gestured for them to come closer to the cell's gate and when they did so, he whispered to them. "I plan on spending a week in this cell."
