Hendrick was in his car, driving along the road while listening to a soul touching music on the radio.
He moved his head left and right as he enjoyed the music and even sang along.
All of a sudden, a red Camry stopped right in his way. He had to quickly step on his breaks to avoid hitting the car.
A young lady came down from the red car and was also dressed in all red. Her lipstick wasn't an exception. She faced his car and blew an air kiss towards him.
Hendrick frowned. "You are crazy. You should really be in an asylum." He got off from his car and walked towards her while she ran to him, spreading her arms for a hug.
Hendrick swiftly moved away from her. "Don't even think of it." He said in a stern tone.
"Hen baby, don't tell me you still find me disgusting. It's been three weeks already." She tried to touch him but he still moved away.
"I already told you like a million times already, it was a mistake, I didn't mean to.."
Hendrick interrupted her. "Lita, as you can see, there are cars waiting behind probably wondering why a jam is being created. So would you be a sensible civilian and move?" When he saw that she was adamant, he reluctantly added "We'll talk later."
She smiled widely at his last statement. "I'll pick the time and place." She winked at him and did a catwalk to her car, wiggling her butt.
She looked at him one last time and blew him a kiss before getting into her car.
Hendrick also got into his car and when she drove away, he also drove off.
....
"Why do you even have a baseball bat in your room?" Charlotte screamed as she ran to a corner of the room, but there was no escape.
Jane raised the bat high up in the air. "Would you stop talking now?"
Charlotte closed her eyes and her palms were held together. "Yes, I promise."
Seconds passed and she didn't feel the bat smash her head, so she slowly opened her eyes. She saw Jane sitting on the bed, but she was still holding the bat.
She let out a sigh and placed her hand on her chest. "I sometimes wonder how we became friends." She mumbled to herself.
"Now, if you would listen to me me, I was going to say that all you just said aren't true. I never asked Stephanie out and I'm not planning to either." Jane explained.
Charlotte's mouth formed an 'o'. "I should have known... Oh when I catch that witch, she is gonna be sorry." She expressed her anger.
"Just hope she isn't dead before you even get to set your eyes on her." Jane said while gently hitting the bat on her palm continuously.
"You are not gonna take the bat to Madison's house, are you?... Why do I even care? She is the reason you were just about to smash my head. I'll support whatever punishment you choose." Charlotte did the same thing Jane was doing, just that she didn't have a bat and was using her fist instead.
A knock on the door was heard, followed by Sarah's voice. "Miss Wilson, your mom sent me to clean your room and call you both down for lunch."
"Come in." Replied Jane.
Sarah came in with a broom and a dustpan. "Good afternoon miss." She greeted Charlotte.
"It is indeed a good afternoon... What's for lunch?" Charlotte asked curiously.
"I didn't see it, but I think it might be baked chicken fingers with fried veggies." Sarah replied while looking at her like she was a weirdo.
"Sounds good." She didn't bother waiting for Jane and left the room in a hurry.
She came downstairs and everyone else except Jane were there already seated at the dining table.
"Good afternoon everyone." She greeted and bowed a little.
Everyone looked up at her confusedly, except Lauren.
"I'm Charlotte, Jane's best friend." She introduced herself and went to Mrs Wilson. "You must be Mrs Fiona Wilson, the mother of the great Mr Robert Wilson. Oh I'd recognize you anywhere. Please do me the favor of shaking hands with a nobody like me." Charlotte stretched forth her hand for a handshake, but Mrs Wilson just looked at her like she wasn't sane.
Charlotte quickly thought of something else. "And did I mention that you look so stunning? You look nothing like your age. I hope that just like you, my beauty wouldn't fade away when I grow old." She praised her and succeeded in putting a smile on Mrs Wilson's face.
Mrs Wilson shook hands with Charlotte and patted her gray hair which she had tied up in a bun. "You do have eyes for true beauty dear. My granddaughter's got their beauty from me after all." She was indirectly talking to someone else at the dining.
Charlotte glanced at Karen who was also looking at her. "Oh my God. You are Karen!" Charlotte screamed like she had seen a celebrity and ran to Karen.
"I can't believe I'm looking at the Wilson's heiress. You also look much beautiful in person than the pictures of you on the internet... Jane has told me so much about you."
Lauren curiously glanced up. "What things did she say?"
"Many things. She told me how.."
"Shut up and just take a seat!" Jane cut her off while coming down the stairs. "Your mouth would one day land you in so much trouble."
Charlotte pouted and took a seat next to Karen and lunch went on with Charlotte not being able to shut her word hole and also not missing a chance to comment on the food and anything else she found fascinating.
After lunch, Jane and Charlotte went back to the room. Jane picked up her phone, her headset and her blindfold.
"That's all I need. We can get going now." Said Jane as she walked towards the door.
Charlotte stopped her. "I get that you haven't been at a sleepover before, but you can't tell me you don't know the most important thing all girls are supposed to bring along."
"Their bodies?" Jane ridiculed.
Charlotte face-palmed herself. "Uh, Jane! The most important is a pajama. All the girls must be in their pajamas and you can't be an exception."
She moved to Jane's wardrobe and opened it, before glancing back at Jane. "You have a pajama, right?"
"Of course... Not" Jane replied with an unconcerned look. "Don't worry, Madison wouldn't dare say a word to me about not wearing a pajama."
"She wouldn't say it to you, but she would to me, cuz she would know for sure that I was the one who told you about the sleepover. So when we leave from here, we are heading straight to my house to get us pajamas. Am I clear?" She spoke as if speaking to her stubborn child.
"Don't make me hit you." Jane warned her playfully and they both laughed.
They left the room and went downstairs. "Mom, we are ready to leave." Jane said loudly as she and charlotte went for the door.
"Okay, sweetie." Lauren replied.
Mrs Wilson raised her brows questioningly as she looked at Lauren. "Where are they off to? Isn't Jane supposed to be grounded?"
Immediately Jane heard her grandma's words, she shouted at Charlotte. "Run!" and they both took to their heels, running out of the house.
Charlotte panted when they stopped running. "That was a close one."
"It sure was. It was a good thing we ran or she might have insisted that I remained grounded." Jane looked around. "Where's your car?"
"It's outside. Bringing it in would have been a time waster."
"How do you mean?" Asked puzzled Jane.
Charlotte frowned, remembering what had happened earlier with Jon. "Jon asked me who I was, which I didn't get angry about and I did tell him, but he pretended not to know me and made me stand in front of the camera and then...he laughed at me." She got angrier as she spoke. "I'm sure if I had wanted to drive in, he would have searched my car thoroughly to see if I had guns or probably grenades with me."
Jane frowned and clenched her fists. "He did that? Wait here while I go burst his balls." She proceeded to go deal with Jon, but was pulled back by Charlotte.
"Are you crazy? You just got ungrounded. Do you wanna get re-grounded?"
Jane calmed down. "Re-grounded isn't an actual word."
"Yes it is, and even if it's not, I still have freedom to create new words."
"So you are okay with him getting away with it." Jane argued.
Charlotte placed her hand on her chest. "Aww, it's so sweet seeing how you care for me." Jane rolled her eyes and Charlotte continued. "I have an idea. It may not be as good as punching his guts or bursting his balls, but it's something. Tag along." She pulled Jane along with her.
She went towards the gate and faced the small house that was built for anyone working as the security.
"Jon! Come open the gate. Jane and I are leaving." She shouted
Jon came out of the house with a smile on his face but it disappeared as soon as he saw Jane's unfriendly smile.
He quickly unlocked the gate and opened it halfway. "Do have a great time." He waved at them.
"Thank you. We sure would have a great time." Said Charlotte and while walking past him, she stepped on his left foot- Really hard.
"Ouch!" Jon shouted and held his left foot, trying to soothe the pain.
Jane also walked past him and stomped her boot-coated foot on Jon's other foot. "Yeah, thanks."
"Argh!" Jon whimpered in pain and instantly let go of his left foot and held his right foot instead, as the pain caused by Charlotte couldn't be compared with that which was caused by Jane's enormous boot.
"Holy nuts!" Charlotte exclaimed. "I'm sure I heard his bones crack." For a moment, it seemed like she was worried for Jon, but she later giggled excitedly. "That was awesome! Your boots are really strong. What are they made from? Iron? Metal?"
"Shut up and let's go before his ladylike screams and whimpers gets my mom out here."
"Too late, she's already out!" Charlotte screamed as she pointed at Lauren.
"She can't stop us if she doesn't see us." They hurriedly got into Charlotte's car. Charlotte started the car and stepped on the pedal, zooming off into the Streets.
