Chapter 37 - Chapter 37

3rd Person's Pov

Avyanna slept for four hours while Yelena stayed to take care of Avyanna. The time has already passed two o'clock.

When Avyanna opens her eyes, the one who welcomes her is the sunset's worried face.

Weakly, she smiled at Yelena.

"How long was I out?" She asked with a hoarse voice.

"Ah. You're awake! D-do you need anything? Are you thirsty? Water!"

Yelena immediately panicked and stood up but was stopped by Avyanna by grabbing her hand.

"I'm fine." She weakly said.

"You made me worried." Yelena holds onto Avyanna's hand.

Avyanna's smile didn't fade on her lips.

"So, what time is it?" She asked again.

"Maybe it's already two in the morning." Yelena answered.

"Shouldn't you rest?" Avyanna held tightly onto Yelena's hand.

"It's fine. I want to take care of you." Yelena answered with honesty while stroking Avyanna's hair.

"How about Diane?" She asked, worried about the maid, who panics most of the time.

"I told her to rest."

"You should rest, too, Yena. You must be tired." Avyanna placed Yelena's hands on her face to feel its warmth.

"I'm not really tired." Yelena answered.

"Since you're so hard-headed." Avyanna moved onto the side and made a space and tapped on it.. "Why not lie down with me?"

Yelena felt her face burning up. She looked away, hesitating. In the end, she shakes her head.

"You rest.."

"Yena.. please?" Avyanna pouted and drooped cutely.

Seeing this, Yelena's heart thumps in joy. To see your lovely lover do that kind of expression is a little bit tempting.

"O-okay..."

She lay down with her and as soon as she did, Avyanna wrapped her arms around the little sunset.

Yelena was so flustered that she couldn't move from her place. She is laying down stiffly. Even stopped her breathing.

Because if she did, she'd directly sniff Avyanna's scent. And thinking about it makes her face burn even more.

"Yena, did you forget how to breathe?" Avyanna playfully asked.

"W-w-what... I-I-I'm b-breathing p-perfectly f-fine."

Avyanna chuckles in a low voice.

'So cute. My Little Sunset.'

They became silent and no words came out of their mouths. They just cuddle on each other, unconcerned about who comes in; whoever comes in, that is. Since it's literally the middle of the night.

"Yena." Avyanna suddenly called.

"Hmm?" Yelena raised her gaze and stopped when she realized that they were inches away from each other.

"Tomorrow, don't go hunting." Avyanna said.

"Hmm? Why is that?" Yelena asked with curiosity.

"I'm... worried about you." She said, kissing the latter's forehead.

"How about you?" Yelena suddenly became nervous.

She wanted to not ask what she just did. Whatever Avyanna's answer is, she fears it.

"I'll be back."

She felt her heart throbbing in pain. How many times has she heard that phrase?

"D-don't.." She clenched her fist and buried her face in Avyanna's chest. "I-I'm afraid you won't come back." 'Just like before.'

"I'll be back. I promise you." Avyanna hugged her gently.

"I hate your promises. You've never done them." Yelena sobs. "T-this life. L-last life, too. Y-you never kept them and kept on not coming back."

This time, she couldn't contain her tears and they flowed down like a river streams down the mountain.

"Yena... what are you..." Avyanna pulled away from Yelena, staring at her with confusion in her eyes.

"I remember... The last life... The life before that... And the other life before... I remember them. And you kept on leaving me behind... Not coming back..." She cried.

She bit her lip, stopping the sobs as her tears kept on streaming down her face.

"Avy, stop breaking your promises."

Avyanna doesn't understand.

The life before? Have they met before? Is Yelena reincarnated? Or is she a transmigrator?

Instead of asking, she hugged the latter tightly, securing her as if she had been in danger.

The sunset cried and cried as she hugged the woman beside her. Soon after, she fell asleep completely.

Avyanna caresses the red swollen eyes of the latter, wiping the water left from her eyes.

'So we've met before, huh? I don't remember but... I feel like we really did. Did you love me so much? That you'd cry like this?' Avyanna thought.

"I'll be back for you, I promise." She kissed the latter on the forehead. "And we'll always be forever."

The tent opened up and the tower master, Aster, entered.

"You're awake!" Aster said.

"Shh." Avyanna shushes him with a glare. "My little sunset's sleeping." She whispered.

"Oh. I'm sorry." Aster said in a low voice, rolling his eyes.

"What's the situation?" She asked.

"There are people being assembled at this time. Looks like they'll ambush you tomorrow." He reported.

"Anything? Other than that?"

"Your body... It's going to give up soon. If you kept on overdoing it, you might...." He stayed silent, and Avyanna knew what he meant.

"Don't worry." Avyanna smiled. "I'll be back."

"What the fuck?" He cursed.

"If there's no more. Get the fuck out of here." She hissed.

The man didn't have any business to say, so he left without saying another word.

Avyanna's attention went to the adorable lady laying beside her. She smiled, looking at the cuteness of this woman. Although, her eyes are getting a little swollen.

'Tomorrow... huh?'

She rested her eyes and, not soon enough, she fell asleep.

***

Everyone was getting ready. The knights are polishing their swords and putting saddles on their horses.

The noble ladies are giving their ribbons to their chosen knights.

"Avy..." Yelena has a frown on her face.

Avyanna couldn't help but let out a laugh.

"Why are you still laughing?" Yelena was ferocious.

Avyanna didn't stop. "B-b-because... hahahaha. Your eyes are..." She kept on covering her mouth and stopping herself from laughing, but it was no good.

Yelena covered her eyes in embarrassment.

"I'm just joking." She said,

Avyanna took Yelena's hand and covered her face. She once again caresses her eyes.

"Ask Diane to apply ice on it." She reminded.

"N-no need. My personal maid can do those things. Your maid should just serve her mistress." Yelena said boastfully.

"What a kind lady." Avyanna teased.

"W-why of course."

"Oh, can you tie this for me?" Avyanna gave a ribbon to Yelena.

"This is? Did someone give this to you?" Her face darkens. "I can give you a better one."

"Haha. This one was made by me. It has a spell casted."

Avyanna lied. It was actually the ribbon given to her by Lizabelle.

Yelena took the ribbon and noticed the name embroidered.

"A... Avery... Bridge?" She gave Avyana a suspicious look.

"I-it's the spell." She looked the other way.

"What a terrible liar." Yelena said with a bitter face.

She took Avyanna's hand and tied the ribbon tightly, but she loosened it afterward.

Avyanna's hand was cold. She thought she'd lose it when Yelena tightened the tie.

"Take care out there." Yelena said.

"Hmm." Avyanna nodded.

She took Yelena's hand and let her lips kiss the back of the lady's hand. Yelena felt the soft skin touch the back of her hand.

"I'll be back, My Little Sunset."

"You better be. I'll kill you if you don't!"

With a smile, Avyanna advanced, entering the forest.

"Come back to me afterwards, Avy."
