Chapter 42 - Chapter 42

Avery's Pov

I annoyingly brushed my hair as I walked away from the lake.

"So fucking annoying." I hissed with a frown.

When I looked at the palace, I saw people gathering and staring at me.

And with those crowds, I look for one person. She is smiling widely and looking in my direction.

The moon shines so brightly tonight. So it is also the time we meet again.

She dashed out of the balcony. Is she coming to get me?

"Who are you?!"

I rolled my eyes at the knights gathered before me.

Ah, fuck! How the hell should I act?

"Uhm... I—" I pretended to faint like an idiot, falling to the ground.

But what I didn't know is that I would totally pass out in this kind of situation.

*****

I opened my eyes and realized that I was lying on glass.

"Sh¡t!" I hissed when I couldn't move.

"Oh my! You're awake."

I raised an eyebrow, seeing Lizabelle?

"Mom, your beloved chosen one has awoken!" She shouted.

I followed the direction she went and saw Avyanna and Mayari playing chess on a table.

"Really? Oh my!"

Mayari flew toward me with a wide smile.

"Congratulations!"

"Congratulations?"

"Yep! The repairing of your original physical body that shattered when you died is finally over." She said,

"My physical body?" I asked.

"Yes, your physical body, Avery. You see, Avyanna's body couldn't take the mana from your soul, and her body almost shattered. I need to take your soul out by force." She explained.

"Your original body is the only thing that matches your soul, and it can handle the mana from you." Lizabelle added.

"Is your name truly Lizabelle?" I asked Lizabelle.

"Nope. Hehe. Well, I am known as Tala. Mayari is my mother."

I suddenly became confused. Aren't they sisters? Oh, well some of the Philippine Mythology and some regions believe that Mayari and Tala are mother and daughter.

"In the meantime, you need to wait while Avyanna goes back." Mayari said.

"Will I still return?" I asked.

"Of course, Avery. You always do." She replied brightly.

"I always do. What do you mean?" And then it crossed my mind.

What Yena said to me About the past lives:

"Goddess," I called.

"Yes?"

"You're a goddess." I paused. "Do you know that I have been crossing time and space?"

She smiled.

"Yes. Yes, you have."

"H-how come Yelena remembers but not me?" I asked.

Her eyes suddenly became sad.

"Yelena has been through a lot. She's the reason you and your partner can't live the lives you deserve." She answered.

"Ha! You finally admitted!" Hanan scoffs.

"Oh, shut up."

"You see, You and Yelena are destined to be together. Both souls, connected and couldn't be detached. She had to face and she had to accept the consequences of defying the will of destiny and playing with time and space." Lizabelle-- I mean Tala said.

"Five lifetimes." Mayari showed her hand to me.

"That's how much she had endured. Hanan told her many times to wait, but she never listened. I know she loves you so much that she couldn't let you go. She misses you so much that she defies us and your destiny. But she paid for it. Every lifetime she lives, she'll have the same name, same title, but different world, and she won't remember a thing about you until it's too late. While you enter her life and then die in front of her. She has performed five magic spells to be able to bring you back and she failed."

Her smile grew wider.

"But this time, she remembered earlier because you worried her too much, losing consciousness twice, and with Lizabelle's help, she did completely remember it." She held her daughter.

"With her help... Are you that fortune teller at the festival?!" I shockingly asked.

"Bingo!" She chuckles.

I was in deep thought.

"But that world I remembered from a novel I read back then. The author is even the one who made the contract with a demon. Is that possible?" I asked.

"Hmm. No." Tala shakes her head. "As far as I can remember, worlds can be created by a certain person. But if that world becomes reality, especially if it is the world that your lover reincarnated into, the creator is the reincarnated one, not the novelist. Plus, novels can't be set in the real world unless the person who wrote it is a person with magic. Unless the woman that you said was the author was deceived by the demons themselves."

She snorts. "What a dumb person."

"I almost forgot. Avyanna wanted to talk to you."

Avyanna, with a smile, walked towards me.

"I'm sorry." I immediately said.

She giggles. "Why are you apologizing, Avery?"

"I almost shattered your body. If it bothers you, you can just have what was mine."

"What? No." She immediately said, "If I go into your body, I might start over again. I'm afraid he won't love me anymore."

"Start over again?"

She nodded. "Prince Riley. He's the man that I love."

"I'm happy for you." Well, in the novel I read, she ended up with Riley...

Huh. What if there was actually a third party who is writing this story from the outside? I was lost in thought again, however, Avyanna talked again.

"Me too. I'm glad you had your time with the lady using my body. I'm rooting for the two of you. I wish you all the best." She chuckles.

"Say that next time in front of the two of us."

"I will."

"Thank you."

"You should rest more. It'll take a while for your body to recover."

With Mayari and Hanan's words, my lids heaved down and I completely fell asleep.

*****

I opened my eyes and saw a chandelier. Where am I?

My body is light, as expected. I sat down and saw no one.

But then, I smiled when I realized how familiar this room is.

This is the room I was in when I collapsed at Yena's tea party. So, I am currently residing in one of the Royal Duchy's guest rooms. Will she come to me any time now?

I waited for minutes until I heard the door creak open. I remained sitting on the bed until the person who opened the door entered.

She was stunned to see me. Standing stiff by the door, her eyes locked on me. I want to jump right away to hug her.

When tears flowed out of her eyes, she ran towards me. As I opened my arms for her, instead of her warmth that welcomed me back, it was her palms that hit my left cheek. Making me have a great sense of deja vu.

Sorry I just posted it. I was so distracted because of a game I enjoyed playing so much hahahaha

See you next update (^-^)
