Avery's Pov
Me and Yelena got off the bed before everyone woke up. She went to her chambers while I stayed on the balcony.
The light of the sun is already peeking into the sky. Although the surroundings are still dark.
I suddenly heard a knock, so I went to get the door open. I wasn't surprised when I saw a maid bowing her head down. She's holding a tray of tea and a tea cup.
"I'll take it from here. Go and do the things you need to." I said, taking the tray from her.
"I was also instructed to wash the lady." The maid politely.
"I'll do that, too." I said.
"Understood, My Lady. I shall bring you a towel and get ready the dress you'll be wearing."
I nodded and closed the door. I put the tray on the table.
If I wasn't mistaken, there was a bathroom in this room.
I opened the door next to the bed and there was the bathroom I was talking about. It's a huge space, and the only thing here is a tub made of marble.
Imagine how much this marble is worth in my world. I don't even want to think about it. It's making a hole in my pockets. It probably costs at least tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of pesos. I don't know.
I took off my clothes and opened the tap water. Why the hell is there tap water here? It existed earlier?
I didn't mind it and went inside the tub. I relaxedly lay down. The water is warm, so it's so nice to sink inside.
I washed and scrubbed my own body since I don't have a maid to tend to me at this moment.
...
I went out of the bathroom and saw a white off-shoulder dress with an asymmetrical hem.
White.
Does this white dress suit me?
A smile formed on my lips. My little sunset can't wait to marry me and see me in a white dress.
On the side of the dress, there's underwear and a tube?
I took it and examined it. Does this go to my chest?
Well, it won't hurt, I guess.
I wore them and then dried my hair using the wind element. I have no trouble using my power with this body.
I guess Mayari is right. This body suits me so much. It is my original body to begin with, so of course it matches my soul.
I tied my hair in a pigtail, then I waited for someone to get me.
It's already breakfast.
And then I heard a knock on the door. I immediately ran there and opened it. To my surprise, it was a purple-haired woman who welcomed me with a big hug.
"It's finally good to see you, Miss Avery!" She said happily.
"Hey! Hands off! Ughh!"
Yelena pulled Avyanna away from me and she was frowning at her.
"I apologize, My Lady." She laughed.
She has a wide smile plastered on her lips while she's looking at me and Yelena.
And it's so awkward for me. It's like it was just yesterday when I was praising that beauty because it's me.
"Who told you, you could come in?!" Yelena asked Avyanna with an annoyed tone and with a raised eyebrow.
"I've been a princess ever since yesterday, so I used that excuse to break in." Avyanna giggles.
"That's an abuse of authority." Yelena said.
"Well, I've been meaning to meet Miss Avery since we last met." She replied by looking at me.
"Don't! Stare at her like that! Ughh!!" Yelena groans.
She tip-toed and covered Avyanna's eyes. I just watched them being playful, but I kind of felt bitter.
"You, too! Don't look at her!" Yelena said, now looking at me with angry eyes.
"What a messy morning."
Our gazes went in one direction. And it was where a little boy was standing with an irritated look on his face. He's the same height as Yelena.
"Oh my. What a cute little boy." I unconsciously mumbled.
I didn't know what I said would backfire. I just suddenly felt a pain in my stomach and it made me crouch.
"Yena, I was just complimenting him." I hardly said anything.
I touched her hand, but she averted it.
"It's time for breakfast. Go to the dining room!" She said, referring to the little boy.
The boy looked at me and then at Yena.
"Heh." He smirked and then turned around.
"Miss Avery, are you alright?" Avyanna was about to tend to me, but I stopped her.
"I-I'm fine, M-miss Avya---" I felt a burning gaze on me, so I changed the way I addressed her. "P-Princess..."
I don't want a round 2 early in the morning. I might not have the strength to swallow my food today.
I fixed my posture and stood up. I was about to walk when Yelena suddenly grabbed me.
"I'm sorry." She mumbled with a pout. Somehow, it filled my heart.
I smiled and patted her head. "It's fine. I can tolerate you being sadistic." I said.
"Hmm." She slightly nodded, and we walked together, secretly clasping our hands together. "I-I'm not s-sadistic though."
"So romantic."
Avyanna giggled from behind us. She might've seen it.
She walked with us to the dining room.
When we arrived, we all bowed our heads in front of the Duke Royal. We find our own seats. I wanted to sit with Yena, but his adopted brother sat beside her.
So I sat beside Avyanna.
The food had been served and we all stayed silent until the Duke spoke.
"You're the Lady of the Lake?" He asked formally.
I bowed my head and answered, "I am, Duke."
"Hmm." He averted his gaze from me and turned to Avyanna.
"What about the princess? What is your business here? It's been a while since you've been going in and out of our state."
Me and Avyanna averted our gazes. The fact that it was actually me who was going in and out of his state is just a little awkward.
"A-ahh.. I was curious about the lady who appeared on the lake. I wanted to know about her." She answered with a nervous smile.
"I see."
"But you three seem to know each other so much already." The little boy said, looking at us.
"That's..."
"Oh, shut up. You know nothing." Yelena coldly said, making us shiver.
Her gaze is also cold, glancing at the little boy.
"Yelena." The Duke called.
Yelena rolled her eyes and ate quietly.
The atmosphere was so heavy that I couldn't eat properly.
"Ah, I just remembered." Avyanna suddenly spoke.
"What is it?" Yelena asked.
"Well, a mage-I mean, a former mage-came to the palace asking to meet Miss Avery." She looked at me.
"Former mage? Rezia?" Yelena asked.
Rezia? She quit as a mage? What? Why?
I was so confused that I wasn't listening to their conversation anymore.
"Miss Avery?"
"Huh?" I snapped back to reality and asked. "What?"
"A former mage, Rezia Lei, wanted to be your attendant."
"What?"
