Jin was happy as fuck, while the human counterpart however, was pissed as hell.
Pyr was not sure if Angel was ready to know that she was with the company of shifters. Yet the stupid beast wanted her to see the other half of the human she will be staying with.
When he was near his house, he was too late to realize why Jin wanted to come out.
Pyr could not help but groan inside Jin's body. There was not an ounce of fear coming from the woman they flew by. She even let her fingertips graze Jin's scales. It was erotic as heck. He had hard-on by the time they had shifted in their human form.
He took a deep breath to control his raging hormones. The urge to mate, fuck, and paint her womb with his seed was getting harder to control. To think that he met her just a little seventy-two hours ago, what more if a month had passed by?
His phone rang, and he groaned again. It was Ven's ringtone. The stupid fucker must have another agenda. He was never this impatient unless he was itching to get laid.
Pyr did not answer the call. Instead, he walked inside the cave near the place he landed. The darkness was nothing to him. One of the many perks of being a shifter was having sharp eyes that could see in the dark. He stopped at the metal door bearing the crest of his MC. When all the security measures were done ~ retina and palm print, the door opened. And inside were Pyr's most trusted people.
Well, not all of them.
It was a massive room, and the first thing any would see upon entering would be the multiple computer screens mounted on the wall. Each screen was showing different things. Two of them bear the logo for Interpol and another was the Philippine National Police.
Pyr sighed once more, he hated dealing with people. Especially the ones that assume that were just jokes. Inside he smirked; the current President of the country was no slacker. He too was a shifter himself, as to what kind, he did not ask.
In the middle of the room was a table that could be occupied by fifteen people. The table itself was a work of art. It was a mammoth piece of oak wood that they transported to China in the late 1800s. The place where they found it was even more baffling. It was the only living thing amidst the barren land that surrounds it.
There were two plush couches and a big fridge at the side of the room. He was greeted with a can of soda being thrown in his direction. He gave a salute to Skye and looked at the people in the room.
The Hollow was usually full of people whenever he could call for Church. Nowadays, most of the crew was out on different missions, it was hard for them together anymore. The eight people in the room were the ones who would rather stay at The Nest rather than be out. They did vow to protect this land. Even if the Chief of Police thought they were a bunch of trouble makers.
"Mocha, how are the women?" He asked the man in front of the monitor. Pyr could see that the data was being transferred to the server they use. It was a safety measure that Chip had created.
"All of them are good, along with the kids. The ones that were separated from their mothers were reunited. The older kids that took charge of the younger ones are together," he replied. He paused for a moment to whatever he was doing to glance at him. "Those kids need more than just medical attention, Prez. I had to stop some of the younger prospects from shifting; all of us can feel the fear pouring out from them."
He nodded. No matter how long a physical wound has healed, the emotional and the physiological scars would take more than a year to heal. "The teens that we have, are they good? Do some of them need immediate intervention?"
Mocha shook his head and replied, "Skye had it covered. The wolves he adopted are currently doing their magic as we speak." There was a note of wonder in his voice.
Skye laughed, and added, "Those boys have no match to my wolves. They may look deadly, but they are the cuddliest creatures I have seen." That was indeed a fact.
Skye was able to turn their part of the world into a sanctuary not just for wolves, but for other animals that needed care. And it also applies to shifters. With the proper care, all of those who stayed with them either men, animals or shifters can come outside knowing that they were not cast out. At the same time, they knew that they had a home they could come back to.
Pyr had to thank Henry, it was generally his idea to help others. It was not easy being a shifter, most especially castaways.
"Prez," called Ven, he was looking at one of the monitors in the room. "The Chief of Police has been calling you for the past half an hour. Shall I answer it?"
Pyr took a deep breath and replied, "Put him through. We might as well deal with him before we talk to the head of Interpol. Those guys are a lot more reasonable than this guy. As long as we are not educated, in their eyes, we could never be in the same room with them." He paused then added, "I will also have to call the President to give him a heads up. Those people did not just end up on the Philippine shores out of miss handling. Something is not adding up."
The other eight people in the room agreed with his assessment of the current situation. "We need to alert the others as well. I will leave that to you, Mocha. Ven, call Priest."
"So, does that mean you will be writing down your last will and testament?" Ven joked.
"No." Pyr stated, "but you will be, if you do not stop being an ass," he added. The man he warned just grinned at him while he was sending a text message to Priest. "Tell him he needs to be here tomorrow. I got a call regarding Mila's death."
His news made the aura in the room become somber. They may not know Henry's wife, but he was a part of them. Having his two kids will have set a series of events that none of them were prepared for.
"Call Ocean's dad, those wolves have the underground connection we do not have. We need to know more about this latest shipment. No matter how much Stavros Aetos wants to retire, he cannot give up that position of power." Thea was the one who responded to that request.
The Aetos was a powerful group of mercenaries whose base was on the Mediterranean Sea. Pyr had met Stavros when he was in his late twenties. The male shifter had broken the ties to the Were Nation. Since Pyr was never part of a group or clan, he had no energy with politics. Hence, he has people like Stavros to ask.
His thoughts went back to the woman in his house. Angel was a complete mystery. A mystery will enjoy solving.
