Chereads / Betrothed To The Prince / Chapter 46 - Like

Chapter 46 - Like

"Your highness, it is a surprise to see you here" said a man as he saw Liam and he bowed down to the ground immediately.

"Please rise" said Liam.

"Thank you your highness" said the man as he rose up.

"Ahh my lady, please pardon me, I did not see you there at all" said the man as his eyes moved to Wura who was standing right behind Liam.

"It is alright" said Wura as she smiled at him.

"Please leave us" said Liam.

"Alright your highness, please enjoy your stay here" said the man?

"We will" said Liam as he nodded and the man walked away.

"I want you to meet someone very special to me" said Liam as he began to walk and Wura followed after him, she had guessed as much, he was making her meet so many people just in one day.

"As long as he is nothing like Elihu" said Wura as she scoffed.

"You really do not like him at all do you?" asked Liam as he chuckled.

"The actual question should be, why am I not surprised" said Wura as she and Liam walked down a dark hall that was lit with torches that were hung on the wall, creating a path of light to wherever it was that they were going to.

"Why do you say that?" asked Liam.

"Well because I am sure that he is your friend" said Wura.

"He is probably a womanizer with those supposed charms of his, and well you... you are the same" said Wura as if it was a fact.

Liam would tell you this, she really did have a good judgment of people. all except for him, Elihu was actually a womanizer, she got that right, but the fact that she believed he was one too, was just offensive to Liam.

He had never touched a woman in all his twenty three years of life, and the only woman he had been interested in was Wura, you could say that he was not the type of man to engage in frivolous activities such as drinking or womanizing, he considered them stupid activities to waste time on.

Even his father was not a womanizer, but well okay, he used to be, in his youth days, but that all changed when he met his mother, and he vowed to be with only one woman and he was going to do the same.

"I find it offensive that you think so little of me" said Liam as he continued walking, and his voice echoes through the walls.

"You have never made an attempt to prove me otherwise" said Wura curtly.

"And also your highness, you seem to forget that the basis of our first meeting, were not very favourable for me to have any sort of good impression of you" replied Wura.

Wura was right, it was at about that point in time that Liam was starting to regret the fact that he had resorted to acting like a scoundrel to fish out his wife, now she would forever have a bad first impression of him.

"Why do you not give me a chance to prove myself to you?" asked Liam.

"I am here am I not?" asked Wura and Liam could not refute her, even though he knew that nothing would change her mind about him.

"Would you believe me if I told you that my display back then was a test?" asked Liam.

"No your highness, I would believe that you were a coward who would rather resort to justifying his actions in hiding behind a supposed test" said Wura.

"That was what I thought" said Liam to himself, Wura really was not an easy woman like she had said.

She was very calculative, always looking for a reason behind everything, and she was a very careful woman, not allowing herself to be dragged into anything she did not want, and yet here he was.

"We have arrived" said Liam as they stopped at a large wooden door that Liam opened.

It was right about now that Wura was wondering who Liam wanted her to meet so bad that he would keep the person here, like a prisoner??

"Hey boy" said Liam as he whistled and something moved in the darkness behind a short wooden door.

"Did you miss me??" asked Liam as his tone went playful.

Wura was getting scared just what in the heavens was Liam talking to?? and as the creature moved closer and closer and Wura braced herself. until finally as if a lever was pulled, light immediately filled the area and Wura laughed to herself for being so silly.

"*Neigh* *Neigh*" made the sound of a bay coloured horse as if he could hear Liam.

"I missed you too boy" said Liam as he chuckled and he petted his horse.

"Lady Diwura" called Liam as he turned to look at Liam.

"Let me introduce to you, my trusty horse Nolan" said Liam as he smiled.

Nolan was kept down here to keep him warm in the severe winter times that they were currently in.

"Hello Nolan" said Wura as she smiled.

"May I pet him?" asked Wura.

"Of course, but just be gentle" said Liam as Nolan rarely let other people pet him at all.

Wura moved closer and she moved her hand through the open gap in the stable door and she placed her hand on his head.

Liam was surprised Nolan was never very calm and gentle with strangers, he guessed that Nolan had a good taste for women just like he did.

Nolan nuzzled his face against Wura's hand, as if he craved for her petting.

"I think he likes me" said Wura as she laughed and she caressed Nolan even more.

"You are such a good boy" said Wura as she smiled.

"He does seem to like you, he is usually never like this" said Liam as he scoffed, who knew his beloved pet horse was such an attention hog.

Liam had brought Wura over here for Nolan to help him convince her that he was not a bad guy, and yet here he was stealing all the attention of his future wife what a buddy he was.

"I guess it is because Nolan knows special people" said Wura as she laughed, her full attention was on the horse now, she looked cool and relaxed, and not on edge, like she always was with Liam, so Liam decided to use this to his advantage.

"Do you like horses?" he asked as he started with a simple question.

"Like??" asked Wura.

"No I do not like them... I love them" said Wura as she smiled.

"I see" said Liam as he was liking her replies, she was not even thinking like she usually did when she was dealing with him.

"Do you have a horse?" asked Liam.

"Yes" replied Wura as she smiled.

"I had a horse" said Wura.

"His name was Sare, which means to run" said Wura as she smiled.

"You say had?" said Liam.

"How come?" asked Liam.

"Well because on my thirteenth birthday my father gifted me a white speckled horse, I named him Sare" said Wura as she smiled at the fond memories that she remembering.

"I could not wait to ride him" said Wura.

"And so when I was supposed to go out riding with my father, I may or may not have snuck out to the stables to ride him without permission" said Wura as she laughed, and Liam laughed, his future wife was really a troublemaker.

"I had accidentally spooked the horse, the poor thing was very scared, and it ended up running away" said Wura.

"Luckily I was unscathed, but when my parents got to know, I was scolded severely, and ever since then I was banned from ever having any contact with a horse" said Wura.

"Was not not a bit too harsh?" asked Liam.

"My father thought so too, but my mother said otherwise" said Wura as she smiled a sad smile.

"I am sorry" said Liam.

"For what??" asked Wura.

"Is it for being a womanizing scoundrel or brining me to see this very good boy Nolan??" asked Wura as she laughed and Liam smiled, she was back to her usual rude self and Liam laughed.

"We have to be going now, it is almost time for dinner" said Liam while looking at Nolan.

"Alright then, but can we please stay a bit longer??" asked Wura while still petting Nolan lovingly.

"Alright then" said Liam and Wura smiled at Nolan and Liam just watched her, he still had a lot more to know about her, and he had only found out a little bit today.
