Chapter 46 - The Heirloom

It was just a speculation, but Adriana did not feel the presence of her father. Adriana did not feel anything for her father. 'Was it normal to feel that way?' Adriana thought within herself for a moment.

Anyhow that man did not deserve Adriana's love, as it is he did not look at her with love and affection, even for once, even by a mistake, he didn't never. The only time he recognized Adriana as his daughter was when she summoned a medium spirit, Yashiro.

Adriana felt a bit bummed since she wanted to watch his crimson blood flowing under her palms. Slowly, watching the man as he takes his last breath. And cherishing that moment for her whole life, but it was done by someone else and it didn't make her happy a bit.

Apart from that the matter there is something more important. The family head dying just like that is not a simple case. How can a powerful man like him die in the hands of Jocelyn, just like that? Though there are chances that he is still alive.

"I know that It's too early to say, but it's just a feeling. Since I can't feel the usual energy flowing around the mansion, which I remember was there in his presence." Adriana furrowed her brows and crossed her arms. "So, do you have a plan in mind?" Adriana inquired Yashiro.

"It's best to send a message to Astell," recommended Yashiro. He is the last person who should know about her situation.

At this Adriana hesitated for a moment but still rejected the idea at once.

"No, not him. Find Raven's dwarf spirit," Adriana ordered, which made Yashiro confused.

Wouldn't it be best for a strong person like Astell to come and save her and finish the task at hand fast? To add he has light magic he can easily destroy the magic circles placed around them with a flick of a finger.

"I know what you are thinking but I lied to Astell about some things," admitted Adriana who added before she pushed Yashiro away, "Just listen to my orders. Even if Raven is far he can just teleport here."

Yashiro sighed, unable to disobey his master's orders. While on the other hand Adriana sighed and closed her eyes. Since it will take a while, she decided to take a rest as it was getting a bit difficult for her in her present state.

Jocelyn, the one person she wants to destroy to the roots and leave no reminiscence of her. But she has no idea what is going on inside her head. In the past, she was the first one to die at the hands of Issac. Since she was discovered by Vayne Belladonna, all the family members heard about the news.

Thinking about the past, the mighty Vayne Belladonna could not accept the fact that he had been fooled by her for so many years that he didn't want to count them. To add she was his most favorable wife among the four of them. And because of that Vayne Belladonna's dislike towards Adriana grew.

Maybe in the present Jocelyn had made her move earlier than predicted. The major question that was bugging her mind now was, Who is currently handling the work?

It cannot be the personal assistant of Vayne Belladonna since he doesn't have the authority to do so. Jocelyn Belladonna, second in line of power in the family. Which makes sense since Ebony was not as mean towards Jocelyn. She even went far as to follow her orders.

Now, what about Raven? Adriana gave him a task that only he can do with his two loyal friends. And Adriana was sure that Issac went missing, to find the same item that Raven needed. Almost confirming her doubt about her father's death.

It was the family heirloom. Vayne Belladonna made it clear to the three children that if something happens to him, they must find the heirloom if they want to become the next family head. So the reason behind makes it important to be first conquered by Raven.

It was a good idea that Adriana had sent Raven to find the heirloom earlier than finding out that her father is no more since it was going to be rough for Raven.

If Raven finds it before Issac he will become superior to everyone and that was Adriana's goal. But the one thing that made her worried about Raven was Issac.

The fact that he went missing just after she told raven to go after that heirloom is pointing toward one thing that he must be teaming up with Jocelyn.

At least Adriana suspects that Issac already knows Jocelyn's true identity.

The environment in the room suddenly changed as the harsh wind started to blow, alerting Adriana. She used her arm to shield her eyes and waited for the wind to calm down.

Adriana heard footsteps coming close to her and heard a sigh escaping from his lips. When she looked up to see the young boy who no longer looked like one. She gently flashed a smile, feeling happiness boom inside her like never before.

"Didn't I warn you to be careful?" The boy affirmed, while his eyes went up and down checking to see if Adriana had gotten hurt anywhere. "Sister, you're not hurt are you? Also, stop summoning Yashiro. What am I going to do if you faint here?" he added concernedly.

"Raven," Adriana called his name as she stood up. She walked to the boy and shuffled his hair saying gently and pleasingly to the boy. "Thank you for coming all the way here."

"It's natural for me to come as I can't let you stay here for long. You're not safe in this mansion," Raven pouted as he was relieved to see Adriana was not hurt. He held her hand to feel her hands were icy which made him frown. "How long have you been in here?"

" I don't know how long I was unconscious, but from the time I am awake, I think it's probably around three to four hours." Adriana casually answered while Raven clicked his tongue already flowing with rage.

His eyes were burning with fire and he only wanted to beat down the two madams who threw his beloved sister in here. But at the same time, he was glad that his sister was showing this dependent side for the first time.

"I can teleport us out here but then Jocelyn will know that you've escaped," Raven has already studied the traps surrounding the mansion before entering to find where Adriana was trapped. "Seriously, what is their problem? Sister, you shouldn't have accepted their invitation and must have continued to ignore them."

Adriana shook her head slightly. As much as she wanted to, no one wanted to ignore the two women more than her but she can't do that right now. Since she needed to know the situations surrounding the Belladonna family.

Raven's eyes grew wide as he felt that someone was watching them. He looked at the ceiling to see that nothing was there then looked back at Adriana.

Saying in a frigid tone, "It's not a good idea to have a conversation here," warned Raven, feeling that what he felt earlier was true and Adriana followed the suit as she had a gut feeling someone was watching them continuously. Adriana knew since the moment she woke up. Of course, it was none other than Jocelyn.

Then the conversation she had with Yashiro was all intentional. From the beginning, Adriana was playing around with Jocelyn. Already knowing that, that woman was watching her.

Playing with someone's mind made her feel immense joy, so she does that wickedly. It was entertaining moving her pawns down onto the chessboard.

As the more, that woman knows her plans. It will make it a bit easier for her to think about what those people's next steps will be. It was a tactic to let their enemies know. Then their guards will be down. And then attack. Of course happiness in the form of victory. It was cruel but some things are meant to end this way.

Just like she wants to end her, evil. Shocked, miserable, and many more filthy emotions go through her face at that moment, looking for an escape but finding nothing, her pleas of begging for forgiveness are nothing but mere noises.

Just like how water and oil never got along with one another. If Jocelyn is the water then Adriana is the oil. Two substances that can never be mixed no matter what. Just like oil, it will always be on top. While Jocelyn will stay at the bottom.

That's just the meager depiction of her future, which is being planned by Adriana, and Jocelyn is falling into that trap slowly and smoothly, thinking she is winning. Fool, she is deemed to be ruined in tears.
