'Heavens!'
Those in the room cowered in fear, their heart thumping and beads of perspiration fell off their body like rain. Unknown to them, they held their breath and their blood cold, sweating from inside out.
The man's scream echoed deep within their heart. And numerous questions rang in their mind like an alarm clock. Beating furiously. Whatever plans they had previously were abandoned.
They tried to hide their trembling hands but ever smiling Al Casendra made them shiver and stood on their toes. Seeing their reaction, a sly grin appeared on his face.
He took another swig from the wine and walked to the board and wrote.
[I haven't started yet and you've already given up. But who am I if I answer to your bidding?]
Consciously or subconsciously, everyone's eyes went straight to the board. But when they read the rows of words. They almost pass out from shock.
You haven't started!?
They shouted in their mind.
Kako had already retreated beside the three merchants, trembling. The prince had makes them undergo some insane exercise like torture. But now, he knew the prince wasn't torturing them but what he did was a child's play.
Al Casendra took another swig from the wine and another rare smile appeared on his face. God! He smiled again.
"The city lord is the one that sent us. They are the one backing us. They use us to do their shady dealing in Xina. That is why we don't fear anyone and behave unruly in the city." The Viper gang leader screamed.
What!
Those in the room looked at the gang leader and widened their eyes. Stupefied. But when they thought about the insane torture awaiting him. They realized what he did was the right thing.
Al Casendra had to stop a fraction of seconds on the next item he wanted to pick and the gang with a smile that wasn't a smile. God! He's still smiling.
It was not only the gang that was still thinking about that. But everyone in the room. The man screaming in agony praying to whoever that was listening to help him out. Kako and the other three merchants wanted to leave the room and take fresh air.
But, no one dares.
Is this the real prince?
They thought.
Al Casendra shook his head and clicked his tongue. Tsk! Tsk! He picked a plier and smiled, nodding his head.
"We didn't plan to do anything to your men. But just to steal— no, to borrow your beast part and elixir materials to compare with the city lord mansion resources. Please, believe me."
Al Casendra didn't look at the gang leader but turned to the assassin.
"The razor family sent us. Please, I'm just following an order." The assassin shouted following the footsteps of the gang leader.
"Idiot! Why are you copying me!?" The gang leader berated.
Hearing the gang leader, those looking at them couldn't but wanted to laugh at his charade. All his previous haughty behaviors had gone down the drain. However, under the frightening atmosphere no one dared to laugh.
Al Casendra didn't stop in his tracks and held the right hand of the assassin and placed it on the small, spreading it wide. He tapped the hand twice and smiled.
'Why did I have to try to assassinate a devil?' The assassin regretted in his heart. 'Curse you Razor family—'
Ah! Ah! Ah!
"P-P-P-lease….kill… me—"
Blood gush out of the assassin's mouth and his face pallid. He was wriggling vehemently, sweats and blood mixed together. He shook his hand trying to free it from the devil clutch. Yet, the devil wasn't done.
Tsk! Tsk!
Al Casendra clicked his tongue and clipped another finger and began to forcefully remove the nail. The wailing cry of the man reverberated throughout the Long-Fall Pass Trading Center.
'What's that smell?' He creased his brow and looked at the gang leader beside him.
'What the hell. Why would you pee? I haven't started with you.'
He stopped his action and gave the gang leader a resounding slap and smile. 'Such a naughty man.' He thought and his smile widened.
Al Casendra looked at the assassin and almost passed out. Also, he noticed he was having difficulty breathing. He knew, his death was near.
He looked at the stoic gang leader that already peed his pants in disdain. He wanted to torture him also but the disgusting act repulsed him.
Al Casendra sighed and turned to people behind him. When he saw their reaction, he smacked. He points to Kako to kill all of them while leaving the store with a jar of wine in hands. But his face devoid any emotion.
"It is better for the prince not to smile. Because…" Kako shivered, looking at the miserable assassin in front of them.
Without anyone killing the assassin, it was only a matter of time before he died.
Deep in the city's lord mansion. An elderly man with a long white beard tapped the wooden table in nervousness. 'Why have they not returned?' He frowned and looked at the clock.
"Go check on them" He said to an empty space.
In the razor mansion, Berti moves back and forth with worry on his face.
"No one in the city could stop those assassins if they wanted to escape if they failed their mission. How come none of them had returned."
The uneasiness in his heart began to make him sweat.
"Is there an elite mage among them?"
