Rose noticed the dark gaze in Damon's eyes. She had seen it before, when they first met. "You look anxious. Are you sure that you're okay?"
"I'm fine." Damon stood up, and walked to the door. "Let's go have lunch… shouldn't keep our guest waiting."
Rose pouted, but followed Damon.

Echo sat on the bed, staring at everything in the room. There was nothing she could do in the room. It was more of a prison than a room, and Damon took her sword, so she couldn't even practise. What was he even thinking when he took her sword away? Did he not know she had no way to protect herself against magic without a sword?
*Knock* *Knock*
"Echo, it's time for lunch," Damon's voice reached Echo's ears.
'Ugh! I'm not even hungry,' Echo sighed, standing up. She looked at Hunter.
"Hunter! It's time for lunch!"
Hunter yawned while stretching. "I'm not hungry."
"Neither am I, but we should go. We don't know the schedule here… who knows how long it will take for our next meal."
Hunter stood up, stretching and followed Echo to the door.
Echo opened the door. Her eyes landed on Damon, and then on Rose who was standing beside him.
'What is she doing here? Does Damon really have to bring her along?' Echo thought to herself, as she kept a poker face.
"Why did you give her…" Rose couldn't finish her sentence, since she was interrupted by Damon.
Damon was lost in his thoughts when he saw Echo. The clothes he gave her fit perfectly, and she was looking absolutely gorgeous. The colour of the clothing matched her perfectly. Without giving much thought to it, Damon complimented her, "You look gorgeous."
Echo smiled, she did not expect a compliment from him, but it made her happy. It made her feel like he wasn't totally ignoring him. Maybe she was wrong about him earlier. Maybe he was just keeping his cover, and that was the reason he was rude to her.
Rose bit the insides of her cheeks, while giving Echo a side eye. 'How could he give those to her? It was for me… that's why I kept them, after I found them when I was cleaning. If I knew it was for her… I would have burnt them!' She glanced at Damon. 'Why is he still looking at her?'
"Damon!" Rose called out. She was so angry that she grabbed onto Damon's hand.
Damon snapped out of his trance, and turned to Rose, "Hmm?"
"Let's go eat! I'm hungry," Rose replied in a sweet, soft voice. She made Echo roll her eyes when she plastered an adorable smile.
Echo glanced at Damon, and then back at Rose, 'I have to give it to her, she has a pretty smile… even though she's annoying.'
Damon had his naturally emotionless look on his face. He gave a slight nod, as he spoke, "Let's go eat!"
Rose grabbed Damon's hand, and turned to lead the way.
Damon made a quick glance to Echo, and winked at her with a slight smirk. He earned a glare from Echo, who simply followed him. 'This is not going to end well,' he thought to himself.
Hunter silently walked beside Echo, as they arrived at a lavish dining hall.
"Whoa!" Hunter exclaimed, her mouth watering at the sight of the several dishes on the table.
Echo looked around the dining hall, making sure to keep a close eye on her own reactions. She was taken aback, but did not want to show it on her face.
Rose swiftly moved to the head of the table. She sat beside Damon.
Echo walked to the seat facing them, and silently sat down.
Food was served, and an awkward silence filled the air. Damon glanced at both the girls, who made threatening glances at each other, and then smiled when they made eye contact with him. He sighed at their pettiness, not fully understanding what was happening.
"So tell us something about yourself," Rose finally spoke. She looked at Echo, expecting an answer.
Echo glared at Rose, 'What is she up to now?'
"There's nothing much to talk about me. How about you?" Echo passed the question on to her.
Rose smiled, "I am basically like the princess in the mansion. Whatever I want… Damon gives it to me."
Echo nodded, glancing at Damon.
"She's really nice! I bet the two of you will get along well," Damon stated.
Rose squeezed the spoon in her hand as she thought to herself, 'Get along well? What is he thinking? She's the enemy, why would I get along with an enemy? I might be a human, but I will destroy her.'
Echo turned her gaze to Damon, 'Get along well? This guy is stupider than I thought. How can he not see that she's trying to start a fight with me.'
The rest of lunch was silent. Neither Echo nor Rose made an effort to get to know each other.
After lunch, Echo went back to her room. She had never been more bored in her life. Despite not having many friends in the Protector's Manor, it was much lively. She would practise, or read an interesting book about magic, or even stare blankly at the field from her balcony.
She hated to admit it, but having Sebastian being sassy or even a downright jerk made her life entertaining. Right now, in Damon's mansion she was just locked up in her room. Rose made things a little interesting, but she was an enemy. Echo couldn't trust her.
Echo heard a knock on the door and sprang to her feet, rushing to open the door.
"We don't have much time," Damon pushed Echo back into her room, and shut the door behind him. He looked around the room, and then at Echo.
"Did you find anything?" Echo asked.
