Boom!
Hu! Hu! Hu!
A man violently sat up from his bed, his chest rose and fell violently as he panted heavily, and beads of sweat dripped down from his body, soaking the blanket and bed into a wet mess.
His hands flawlessly reaching for the Combat knife beneath his pillow, and in no less than a second, he placed the blade before him in a defensive posture.
The man's eyes, devoid of any expression. Calm but ruthless, cold blooded and without empathy, contrary to his body's behaviour, it was abnormal.
A few seconds later, he came to. Sighing heavily, he lowered the blade to the side, threw the blanket off of him, and closing his eyes, he covered his face with his palm and stroked his head using his fingers.
"Still having the same recurring nightmare?" a female voice sounded out from within the plain-looking bedroom, but there was no one in the room apart from the young man.
There was no reply as the room descended into silence.
"Ryver?" The female voice called out. But once more once there was no response.
"Ryver!?" The voice called out once more.
"It's just a dream, not a nightmare." The hoarse voice of a man that had just woken from sleep sounded. Moving to the bedside, he opened up a bottle of mineral water from his bedside and gulped down the contents.
"Do you want me to make an appointment with Doctor Vanhs?" The female voice asked again.
Ryver closed the now half-emptied bottle of water and shook his head. "There's no need, she's already infatuated with me. What time is it?"
Peeling off his shirt and revealing a body riddled with well aligned scars, Ryver went to his door way, there was a door pull Up Gym Bar installed between the edges of the door.
"It's 5:12 am now."
With that, Ryver started his daily exercise of pull-ups.
"What's the weather going to be like?" Ryver asked between his pull ups.
"This Monday, thunderstorms and rainy weather are expected in the afternoon. Minimal precipitation is forecasted for today.
The temperature is anticipated to vary between a sweltering 50°C (122°F) and a warm 36°C (96.2°F).
The maximum heat index is calculated to be a blazing-hot 60.4°C (140.72°F).
You should be wary, heat exhaustion and heat cramps are highly anticipated. With continued activity, heatstroke is also very likely."
"Hmm." Ryver grunted at the strange weather. Much recently, the weather had been a weirdness of cold and hot. The cold has been really cold and the hotness, almost unbearable.
Within the next hour, Ryver had finished his morning preparations and was ready to leave for work.
He stood before a full mirror, adjusting his tie over his neck.
"Status." he said softly.
His vision blinked slightly and a row of data appeared within his line of sight as his Bionic Eye lens responded.

"Even less than yesterdays's?"
"Due to the body's limitation, points earned during workouts are significantly lessened."
Within the full mirror, a very handsome looking man could be seen.
The handsome man appeared to be in his late-twenties. He had a chiselled face, slim build, pointed nose, fair dark long hair and a pair of really beautiful blue soul-stirring eyes.
"You should change the tie, you wore that to work last week." The same female voice interjected.
Ryver's hand paused. "But it's my favourite tie." he frowned.
"Well, you wore it last week, so change it." The voice gave no further room for discussion.
Although slightly reluctant, Ryver removed the tie and changed it to a blue striped tie, matching his tucked-in T-shirt.
"Yeevla and Lyssa would be expecting you by 5pm."
Ryver's actions froze for a second. Expressionless, he grabbed his bag and turned to leave, but not without saying his goodbyes to his Home-Assistant.
The sky was just starting to turn bright, as it was still too early. On the streets, there were others jogging, vehicles moving to get to work before the traffic began.
Ryver walked to his apartment's driveway. Opening the door to his truck, he started the car with the key a few times before it responded to him.
Vroooom!
The car vibrated and Ryver pedalled on the acceleration pad as he headed for work.
The sunlight was beginning to reveal itself, shining brilliantly down on earth, releasing an astonishing brilliance on the glass walls of the large 1000 meters tall biotech company "MEGA-TECH" which magically absorbed the radiation from the sun and transformed it, making it glow in various astonishingly beautiful colours that glittered no different than the cosmic dust in the galaxy.
MEGA-TECH made its mark in the world when they created the first-ever public Bionic Smart Lens.
When it first hit the market, the public was sceptical of its ability since the company claimed the Bionic Smart Lens could enhance the human eyesight to a level that is more than three times better than 20/20 [1]
After a few human trials and testimony from various users, plus the fact that there seem to be no side effect to using it, the public was convinced, and the sales skyrocketed.
A few decades later, numerous improvements had been made, the Bionic Smart Lens could now provide a virtual display that now has a variety of uses from assisting the visually impaired to video gaming in real life, to viewing the entire statistics of a product or an item!
These aren't lenses you pop in and out, though - the lens developed by MEGATECH is inserted into the eye via a painless procedure that takes less than a minute. More astonishing is that the lenses doesn't degrade over time so you'll never have a problem with cataracts or failing Lens no matter how long you live.
Thanks to this bionic eye contact lens, the entire internet could be available in the blink of an eye.
With a piece of tech like this, who wouldn't want to own one? In just a few decades, more than 5 billion people and 900 million domesticated animals now own their one personal Bionic Smart lens implanted within them.
