Few hours later, Anxi reached for the sick Xander with a bowl of hot soup, she doubts he's eating anything yet so this would help in feeding and healing him at the same time.
Xander had stubbornly refused to get a doctor but this concerned his health which she refused to let him joke with, so she had no other choice than to secretly speak to one on the phone, she told him about his symptoms and the doctor equally gave her remedies to each one.
"Xander, I need you to drink down every content on this bowl, come on." Thankfully, his kitchen had exactly what she needed to make this medicine soup for him.
But the stubborn fellow shook his head in disapproval, to be honest he just wanted to sleep.
"I…. don't want it."
"I didn't give you a choice." She countered back, "You have to take this if you have any plans of getting better."
In her previous life, whenever she fell sick, she'd make this soup and it works very well too, she could only hope it's the same for him.
"I already called Xandria and told her what happened, she's on her way here."
"You what?!" He nearly forgot he was sick right after Anxi said that to him, glaring straight at the poor girl who wasn't expecting such a look from him, like she just committed some offense.
"She's your sister, she had to know and I panicked."
Xander really wanted to scold her so bad right now but his sickness wasn't giving him that opportunity, fortunately his temperature had gone down but his body still ached and his head throbbed painfully.
"Guess what," Anxi suddenly added. "She also says if you don't take this before she arrives, she won't hesitate to force it down your throat even if she has to."
Xander's pale expression went even paler, that was absolutely the last thing he wanted, he rather let Anxi give it to him than that sister of his, she'll kill him all in the name of saving his life.
Anxi noticed the hesitation in his expression and smiled that her idea worked on him.
"Come on."
Xander was forced to sit upright as he stared at Anxi, he looked sick and really adorable at the same time, most especially with the hoodie on. He was no different from a polar bear.
"It's quite bitter, so I need you to take it all in one sip okay?"
"I'm not a child Anxi." He blatantly said, she was treating him like a five year old child and it felt weird, he was never treated like this so it kind of felt new to him.
In other words, he never really had a childhood.
Whenever he fell sick, apart from Xandria who'd nearly killed herself just because he was sick, no one else cared, he got to live with it and take life the way it was, but things changed the moment she stepped into his life. He got a chance to experience new... would one call it new emotions?
"It's a different thing when you're sick, so come on, luckily I bought a candy Incase it feels too bitter." She smiled genuinely. "The more bitter it is, the quicker it's effect so come on."
Xander said nothing in defense and actually let her feed him as she brought the bowl to his mouth, he drank everything to Anxi's surprise but was unable to hold back a cough the moment he was done.
"Easy there….. sorry....calm down." She stroked his back to ease him.
"You want the candy?"
"Yes please." Xander couldn't deny, that thing was horrible like he just took a whole bitter soup!! Yuck!! How does she even drink it?? What's in that stuff?
Anxi brought out the candy from her bag, opened it up and handed it to him.
"Here."
Xander took it and wasted no time taking it into his mouth, Anxi actually felt sorry for him and a part of her didn't like seeing him in this state.
"How do you feel?"
"Let me sleep first."
"Want me to take you upstairs?"
He nodded. "But you'll have to stay with me." Was his only option. When he opened his eyes and saw her expression earlier, she was worried and looked relieved when he met her gaze. He hadn't expected her to show up and he felt a strange warmth spread through his body in her presence, but now that she's here, he wasn't going to let her go.
Anxi on the other hand thought about it before nodding her small head. "Alright, fine, but that's because you aren't feeling well."
She was willing to agree to his silly demands just so he could get better, she helped him off the couch and with his arm around her shoulder and hers on his waist, she supported him as they went up the stairs together.
They got to his magnificent room and she helped him get on his bed, covering him up with the duvet and made sure he felt comfortable. Anxi sat beside him on a chair which was really close to his bedside.
She had fetched another bowl of water and gently rinsed the towel she found in his room into the warm water, placing it on Xander's forehead. He was fast asleep and If his temperature doesn't calm before tomorrow, she'll have no choice but to call a doctor.
She unzipped his sweater after realizing his temperature wasn't reducing, at first she hesitated but after some thoughtful thinking that it concerned his health, she proceeded and rubbed his chest with the same towel, unwilling to let herself blush.
She had woken Xander up a few times to ask for his medicines so he could take them, he would go back to sleep right after while she stayed by his side, stroking his hair.
It was getting to 9pm when her phone buzzed in her bag, she brought it out and answered the call.
"Yes Xandria, are you on your way yet?" Anxi asked but Xandria let out a soft sigh.
"I don't think I can make it tonight Anxi, it's about to rain and there are traffic Jams everywhere at the moment." She sounded disappointed and judging from her tone, she was already stressed which Anxi understood.
"So what are we going to do then?'
"I know this is a lot to ask for but can you stay and watch him till I return in the morning, if he's left alone, I don't know what will happen, that young man never listens to anyone, I left him notes warning him not to get out of bed but he ignored them!"
Anxi didn't know what response to give at her request, she turned to look at Xander who was fast asleep on the bed and finally nodded, truly he shouldn't be left alone. If she hadn't come at that time, who knows what would have happened to him.
"You don't have to worry, I'll stay with him for the night, it's not good to walk around so late so you should stay where you are and come back tomorrow morning."
Xandria sighed in relief. "Thank you so much, I owe you one for this, see you tomorrow!"
"Take care."
The call disconnected afterwards, Anxi called her grandmother to inform her as well and her grandmother was happy to let her stay for the night.
Truly, it rained the whole night and Anxi stayed up through the night taking pictures of him and nursing him back to health, till she ended up falling asleep on the couch due to exhaustion.
