"Will you, Mama Yanna?" Nafeli cocked her head to the side and wondered.
Avyanna sure does want to but what can she do about it? Caitlin is very well-known in the industry with all the connections she got, if the court decides to be biased like in some cases she witnessed on the television before, it sure will bring hell to Nafeli. Nafeli would suffer.
She is speechless, her mind is muddled but Nafeli expects an answer and Avyanna doesn't want to disappoint.
"Y-Yes, I will," she said. She caressed her face and gave a warm smile, through her eyes her doubts are told but she doesn't want to shutter Nafeli once again as last night did.
Avyanna knew that Nafeli was wearing the shoes she wore when she was a kid, treading down the same road she didn't want to and was forced to face fate's cruelty.
Nafeli brightened up as she gave a warm cheerful smile. She threw her arms to Avyanna and hugged her.
Avyanna hesitantly raised her hands, slowly she wrapped them around Nafeli's waist and hugged her tightly.
That one sorrow and doubt surged up her countenance and she doesn't know what to do.
Slowly, the door creaked open, and there beheld Narcester holding a plate filled with newly made pancakes.
"Avie?" he said.
Avyanna jolted and raised her head in his direction. Nafeli moved away from their embrace as Narcester smiled at her warmly. He swerved his eyes towards Nafeli and gave an empty expression.
"Kid…" he said.
Nafeli looked at him and scowled, with an attitude she said, "What?"
Unlike last time, Narcester spoke and conversed with her in a gentle tone as the countenance he held was empty.
"Give me and my wife privacy for a while."
Nafeli raised her eyebrows and Avyanna's face drew confusion all over. "Why?"
Narcester tried to calm himself down and nodded at her, "Please. Let me and my wife talk."
Nafeli crossed her arms and rolled her eyes, "Fine…"
Slowly, she went outside and shut the door.
Narcester looked at Avyanna with a gaze and gave her a warm smile. "You surely got easily attached with the brat." he chuckled.
"I…don't know…" she stammered.
"That's so like you, merciful and accepting." he smiled.
He knelt in front of her as she sat on the floor and smiled. Slowly, he ran his fingers onto her cheeks. "She clearly is now attached to you like how you are attached to her. Why are you hesitating?"
Slowly, he lifted her chin to face him and gave her a bright smile.
Ayanna shook her head and bowed her head low, "Caitlin is a tough competition."
"Caitlin Terra?"
"With all the connections she got, also, as she is well known in the country for being the top actress, many will take her side and probably even the judge will help her win. It would be misery for Nafeli," she spoke softly.
"Hush, Avie…" he whispered.
Avyanna raised her head and faced him. "Who do you think your husband is to doubt?"
Avyanna's eyes lit up, yes, right, her husband is the ever so famous Narcester Thaddeus. Known in Europe and some parts of Asia for his projects. Why has she hesitated? Maybe it is because she thought she couldn't lean on him.
"If Caitlin Terra has connections then I have more. She might have soldiers of these strong businessmen to help her win if ever, but I have battalions of people who hold the force to take them down one by one, all for you, for you to get what you want."
Avyanna's eyes glistened, his words were inspirational and they motivated her. It sent her blood pumping and her mind excited.
She wishes not for Nafeli to suffer any longer the same way she did at the fingertips of her father.
"Avyanna, you know very well that the moment you placed that ring on your finger, you are bound to own what I have. You are free to use it as you want."
Avyanna's heart couldn't stop, she felt it slowly melting with this kindness. It was outrageously immense that she can't fully contain it inside her. With all the excitement, without knowing, she had already thrown her arms at him and embraced him, wearing that glistening smile on her face as it drew a wide smile on her countenance.
Narcester chuckled as he slowly wrapped his arms around her waist to gig her back.
"All for my little Avie."
Avyanna flushed as soon as she realized what she situated herself in. Immediately, she moved backward and awkwardly stood as fast as she could.
"I…apologize."
Narcester gave a light snicker at her, "No apologies needed."
Soon enough, Narcester stood up and went to a table where he had left the plate of pancakes.
"Here, you wanted more of them, right?" he smiled.
Avyanna raised her eyebrows as soon as she saw them. Narcester who continued to widen his beam spoke sweetly, "Help yourself. Apologise, that's all I know."
Avyanna's eyes widened as he saw him scratching his nape. Avyanna tossed a warm smile toward him and grinned, "I appreciate the effort, Mr. Thaddeus."
Narcester replied silently with a smirk, "You are very welcome, Mrs. Thaddeus."
Narcester gripped the doorknob and twisted it as he went outside the room. Avyanna giggled softly as she stared at the flatbread and chewed on them after.
"That woman just seduced Mr. Thaddeus and gave her the resort as an inheritance. It's her motive to suck upon the money of the Thaddeus family. Me. Thaddeus deserves someone better." Felicity said as she was spreading rumors that are far from the truth.
"I guess it is right."
"It is certainly right."
Felicity continued to spread rumors to every department inside the Thaddeus Studio. She was clearly ruining Avyanna in the eyes of many, speaking of which she is unworthy to be bound by the marriage with the tycoon Narcester Thaddeus.
Successfully, Felicity made Avyanna talk to the people in the studio. In a bad way, the rumors spread quickly.
A few minutes later, gossip and chatters about the topic filled the air.
Sitting inside his office after leaving home, Narcester was bothered why the papers he requested had not yet arrived. Irked he became, Narcester stood up and slammed his palms onto his desk.
Immediately, he stormed out of his office and went to the tables where the staff were only to see them chattering neglecting the work they are supposed to do.
The person he tasked it to was in the middle of the crowd along with Felicity. The rumors are reacting like chain reactions, slowly affecting one to the other.
"What is this bullshit?!" he yelled.
Everyone jolted as they heard his terrifying voice that scared their soul out of their bodies.
"Cayden, didn't I tell you to give me the papers I requested? What are you doing in the middle of this bunch procrastinating and chatting with them? When did I tell you to have a break in work hours?"
"Ah, s-sir…" Cayden Froyde stammered.
"We were talking about a topic, Mr. Thaddeus. I want these staff to participate in this meeting for the awareness of your safety." Felicity stepped in.
