Though temptation runs wild, she hides her face and shoves him away. She stormed out of the room with her red, flushed face and entered her room with a slam. She was panting, frantic, in panic.
There was something that was filling up her stomach, her body runs in the heat and she can't control it.
She can't seem to fathom the depths she will fall into once it continues to ascend, it is bound to exceed the contractual agreement. Signing the contract would only mean that they belong to each other for three years. It was never mentioned how it is restricted to fall in love. But she can't help but think, is it worth it? Will it be worth it?
She hovered across the road m, and paced back and forth. A strange feeling arises every time he's around and she can't help it, that is what she's trying to figure out.
The devilish temptation of being drawn to him, simply being bound by his charms baffled her way of thought.
She thought that it would eventually vanish, her assumption about the matter was his kindness, she reasoned that to herself. With the thought of not having to receive the same kindness from her as that he gives her, she clung to him so that she would feel the warmth of his kindness longer. Her thoughts formulated that it was all just that kindness.
If he turns to be full of her and annoyed with her, he will eventually lose that kindness for her and would deny giving that same warmth. She anticipated him being tired of taking care of some unbearable woman such as herself.
She gradually felt relaxation after pausing from excessive thinking. She washed and laid down on the bed. She dozed off as the world rotated on its axis and brought forth a new beautiful view of the sun upon the horizon.
She woke up in an empty house. It was all quiet, Narcester had already left and the maid's absence was present. She roamed around the garden and saw Mrs. Stawarski watering the Hibiscus flower she saw that day in the same garden.
She smiled, Mrs. Stawarski slowly looked at her and smiled. "Good morning, Mrs. Stawarski. Nafeli's not with you today?"
Mrs. Stawarski just shook her head and stood up. Avyanna looked around with wonder, "Where are the maids?"
Mrs. Stawarski was silent for a while then spoke. "Narcy brought them somewhat," she said.
"Leaving you alone?"
"I'm fine. I'm told to accompany you for a while." she calmly spoke.
She was tapping her fingers, her phone in her hand and she can't just stop moving her leg repetitively. Mrs. Stawarski looked at her, "What date is it today?"
Avyanna looked through her phone and froze, "It's..." she stared at it closely.
Mrs. Stawarski was waiting for an answer. Snapping out of a daze, she spoke. "It's April the 13th."
Mrs. Stawarski nodded. Avyanna froze seeing it, how could she have forgotten? It's this day. It's when she blossomed and when she found her first misery. "Are you okay, Avie?"
She looked at the old woman and nodded, hesitantly, "I need to go inside, I have to eat. Excuse me, Mrs. Stawarski." she said.
The old woman smiled as she walked away.
As she went inside, tears just couldn't help but trickle from her eyelids. She wiped the tears from her eyes and calmed herself. "You're okay."
Her whisper was breathed out of her mouth to the air and only she could have heard it. It's a secret she shared with the wind only.
She was just sitting by the porch step, still,l with her pajamas on, she looked to the gates, waiting for the arrival of who knows who.
Mrs. Stawarski noticed her absence of mind, she wouldn't want to bother so she continued to do her role as a gardener.
Her phone vibrated and rang beside her, picking it up, she heard a voice of a friend she hadn't seen for the past five years.
[Happy Birthday, sissy!]
She giggled, "Thanks, Xshena."
[Anyways, I'll be returning to Greece now. I've finished my studies just recently. Let's meet each other when I get home!] she cheerfully said.
"Oh, I'm not sure...if my husband will let me..." she stammered shyly.
[Husband?!] she exclaimed.
She could exactly envision how Xshena's jaw was dropping and a smile traced on her lips.
[Wait...You're married?! How can you not tell me about that? You could have texted so that I could attend. Haven't you just graduated recently?]
"Calm down Xshena. My father signed me up for it," she said in a low voice.
[Old geezer Lanxter did? That moron had been very old, eh? So...who's the man?]
"Narcester...Thaddeus," she replied.
[Wait? Narcester? Like Thaddeus Studios owner and CEO?! Girl, you got yourself a big fish to fry!]
She flushed and gently smiled, "Stop with your lewd delusions."
Xshena giggled, [So, is he molesting you? Abusing you? Being absolutely horrid and unacceptable to you? Cause I swear if he is, no matter how much influence he has in the country, I will take him down!] her aggressive voice pierced through her ears from her phone.
"Calm down, Xshena. He's fine and he doesn't bother my privacy. He also gave me my room." she replied.
[I see, you're treated like a princess for one whose pride can reach Mt. Everest. That's kind of rare. I expected him to be...abusive. Like the "Predator" he was called.]
"Predator?" she wondered.
[I thought you knew.]
"Knew what?"
[You haven't heard? Narcester Thaddeus pulled off the stakes he invested in Klein Entertainment. He was enraged about something. Is there something that happened?]
"When was it?" she asked.
[Around April 10th.]
"That time..." she tried to recall. And when that fragment of memory. "That time, my father called me back to the mansion."
[Why?]
"He saw the news that I acted anthropophilic in the halls of Thaddeus Studios. He was enraged that he beat me up the time I returned. I went home and he took me to rest." she explained.
[What?! I feel like I need to return to Greece as soon as possible. Avie, you're suffering so much.] she said.
Avyanna could only be silent, there's no use denying her suffering when it already reached that point.
[But that must be the reason the shares were pulled out. A, vi,e I guess sticking close to Narcester is the safest way.] she said.
Avyanna nodded and replied, "Yeah. I got to hang up now. Thank you for being the first to greet me." she smiled and hung up.
A bitter smile arose from her lips. Suddenly, another call from an unknown number made her phone ring once again.
Filled with doubts, she answered the phone with hesitation, "H-Hello?"
[Ma'am, this is Myrto. An urgent matter arrived. Please dress yourself, you are required there.]
The phone hung up with an ambiguous explanation given to her. But it was urgent as she believed. She scurried to her bathroom and bathed herself. She looked through her wardrobe and the dress Narcester gave caught her attention.
It was a turtleneck dress plainly shaded with deep blue, it had long sleeves and it reached three inches above her knees.
She remembered how he once complained about her clothing style that was actually forced onto her by her father. The maids after that day were told to change the dresses with a dress designed and sewed personally by a famous clothing designer.
She remembered how she once was fitted just to fill that wardrobe with her clothes in just a matter of a few days.
Hurriedly, she rushed down the stairs as she witnessed Myrto sitting still on the couch. He saw her and he smiled. "Ma'am, let's make our way to the venue." he reached his hand out to escort her.
She placed her hand on him, she tilted her head and looked confused. "What urgent matter would this be?"
Myrto did not reply, instead, he brought her out the gates and opened the door of the car for her to enter. Feeling quite nervous, she rubbed her fingers together.
What could be the reason for this urgency that it had to bring her?
Quiet Myrto was, he sped up and in a short moment, they arrived at a resort. It baffled her, what urgent matter is taking place in a luxurious resort?
The gates slowly cleared allowing the car to pass by. It was too bright as the car drove through the driveway entrance. The car parked by the corner and Myrto went out of the car to open the door for her.
He led her to a garden area, there was this one table, and its vase was a set of arranged flowers. Lanterns were hanging on strings, there is a tree by the right side and a group of musicians are playing harmony on the left.
Then a voice soared across the air. A deep, familiar voice with a soft touch to the atmosphere gives her a sweet sensation capable of relieving herself from the thought of the "urgent matter".
The tune shifted to a different set of notes, slowly, that's where the voice soars at peak out of the air.
