Chapter 17 - Hye Jin

Queen In Ha? He just saw Queen In Ha? How was that even possible? But there was no mistaking what he saw, he could recognize the queen even in his dream.

Well, if he transmigrated into this world, wasn't there a high chance the queen would as well. But to return with her appearance intact? It was shocking. He was occupying the body of another. Why didn't it work for him?

But Daniel knew all of those questions would be answered once he got to her, so he ran faster. She was wearing a yellow dress and had already crossed the road, now going on the sidewalk.

However, in his haste to cross the road and get to her, Daniel was not looking and was nearly knocked down by an approaching car. Thankfully, the driver was fast enough to slam down on the brake and the bonnet only ended up brushing against his body. But then, the driver didn't take kindly to his actions.

The man looked out from the window, the veins on his face popping with anger, "You fucking asshole! Where is your head! Do you want a dying wish?! If you want to die that badly, get off the road and go jump off a building where no one would go to prison because of you! Go die alone, you son of a bitch!" He took out his anger and frustration on Daniel who only bowed his head in apology and took off.

This time he was a lot more careful and got off the road successfully without causing another driver to try to murder him. Daniel stretched his neck, trying to identify the queen among the crowd of people.

Thanks to the drama with the driver earlier, he got distracted and lost sight of her. That can't happen. Suddenly, he saw the yellow dress and hope filled him once again.

"Incoming!" He announced, hurriedly squeezing through the crowd of people on the sidewalk. There were a few murmurs and protests as he tried to overtake seeing the sidewalk was quite congested because it was the rush hour. But some were fast enough to make space for him and in no time, Daniel could get a clear view of her.

Although his heart was pounding with anxiety and anticipation, Daniel still went after the lady and gently placed his hand on her shoulder, saying, "Queen In Ha?" He wasn't exactly sure.

The lady in question turned around and disappointment washed over him, it wasn't her. No, his queen couldn't be this ugly.

Forgive him, Buddha, every human was beautifully made. Daniel prayed in his heart when he realized what he just thought.

"Hello, may I help you?" The Lady asked, looking him over and noticing how handsome the man was.

She had been ready to yell at him for the harassment until she saw his face. He was so handsome and it wasn't every day that handsome men stopped her - she was full of hope.

"No, I'm sorry. I mistook you for someone else," Daniel said to her apologetically.

The lady gave him a long look and then turned with a huff. Of course, what was she expecting? Why would a handsome stranger chase after her? Thus, she left disappointed and angry.

Daniel stood at that spot like a lost sheep, trying to catch his breath. He knew what he saw, but then, how come he didn't see her?

But then, if only Daniel had looked to the right instead of going straight, he would have seen when his target turned to the corner and continued with her journey with no clue she just missed a chance at destiny.

She had been wearing the same style of dress as the lady Daniel bumped into, just that hers was in a brighter shade - something Daniel didn't notice because he was in a hurry. Hence, when he finally turned to that junction, she had already left and he came up with nothing.

"President!" Young Chul called him as if he had finally lost his mind. He nearly fell when he reached the president except that Daniel reached out and caught him upright.

Young Chul stood up to his feet using his body as support, his breath coming in gasps. He had been chasing after the president who took off like a madman in the middle of the road.

"President!" Young Chul cried out, his face twisted in agony. This was not what he signed up for, he had aged ten years in just a few minutes. He almost died on the spot when that car nearly hit the president and all that crossed his mind at that moment was the thought of the chairwoman skinning him alive.

"Young Chul?" Daniel called, confusion and shock crossing his expression when his secretary and assistant started to cry.

"Young Chul?" He could not understand what was going on? Daniel tried to comfort him as people were beginning to look at them and he couldn't afford to have another scandal when he was on his way to clear one.

With quite a lot of strength, he was able to pull Young Chul into the car before people could begin to capture the scene with their phones - what a strange world he was still trying to get used to. It wasn't every day you get to see a crying male on the sidewalk.

Young Chul was finally able to calm down, but he wouldn't talk to the president and Daniel let him be. He as well needed the quietness to think about what happened earlier. It couldn't be that he wasn't hallucinating earlier, right? He didn't know what to think anymore.

And true to his thoughts, Daniel hadn't been hallucinating because that particular lady entered a coffee shop and looked around, as if searching for someone until her gaze fell on an older lady and her smile brightened.

She walked over to the table and upon reaching it, bowed her head, saying "How are you doing, grandma Kang?"

At once, Chairwoman Kang roused from her thoughts, and upon seeing the young lady in front of her, she smiled as well, "You're here, Hye-Jin," She called her affectionately.
