"Wait brat! Did you not see what happened to the other kid!? Are you blin-" The guard was immediately cut of. Yin reached in his pockets and pulled out a plate of silver with words encrusted on it. "Noble." It read.
"Oh! My dearest apologies young master!" The guard quickly bowed his head. 'What the hell!? Who is this kid!? I have seen all of the noble young masters in this city except for one! Could he actually be that- no! Of course not! He cannot simply wake up from a coma so suddenly and look so healthy on top of that! Well whoever he is, his aura is intimidating. I'd rather stay out of his way. Intimidating aura's are a trait of a high-class noble family.' The guard thought to himself as Yin walked by him.
After entering, Yin immediately noticed that the inside of an Ignosi looked exactly like a large library, with books lined up everywhere in the rows of the tall ceilinged library. To the side, there also looked to be a section with many sofas, tables, and chairs where one would sit and read.
There was also a third section that looked completely unfamiliar. A bunch of pedestals, on top of which were tens of large crystal orbs the size of basket balls that glow a hazy purplish color.
Yin however didn't pay any mind to it. In his past life, he was a book worm, especially when it came to novels. Without wasting time, he immediately went into the rows of books. The amount of books was slightly overwhelming. It was like trying to pick a droplet of water from the vast ocean.
After a little bit of looking around, Yin choose a book called "The Basics of Magic." He walked over to one of the tables and sat down, opening the book and starting to read. Immediately upon putting his eyes on the first word, he heard a message from the system for the first time in six months.
…
All of a sudden, Yin's brain was flooded with information. 'The system! It seems that its finally finished restarting. I will have to learn everything about it once I get home. For now however, I will focus on what's right in front of me.' Yin thought to himself, containing his happiness.
With knowledge of his new skill, Yin spent the entire day at the Ignosi, using his Bookworm skill on every single book he could find and obtaining all knowledge that had anything to do with magic.
As the sun started to set, he knew pretty much everything about the origins of magic and how it exactly worked. He was quite ecstatic with his knew skill and the knowledge he had obtained.
After arriving home, Yin immediately rushed to his room. There was no sort of other thought in his mind, not even hunger. On his way there, many of the maids noticed him and said their fair share of words about what they thought of him, but Yin of course paid no mind to them.
He was going to rule the world. Why should he care about insignificant maids?
After arriving to his room, Yin immediately sat down on the bed, putting his bag of elixirs next to him. Here and now, without any haste, Yin was going to attempt... at creating a magic cultivation technique.
'From what I've read, no known humans have ever created a cultivation technique in the history of this planet, but they surely didn't appear out of nowhere did they? Someone must have created them. A high sage? A great king? It doesn't matter who created the techniques, if someone could create a magic cultivation technique, than so can I.' Yin thought to himself with determination in his eyes.
He sat crisscrossed his legs and closed his eyes, maintaining the purest form of concentration. From the books, he knew how magic acted in in natural, uncultivated state. It was called mana.
Flowing through the world, above the skies and blew the water falls, mana existed everywhere throughout the world, giving life to all living beings. Mana would turn into magic when cultivated. To do this, one would need a way to absorb the mana into ones mana sea. A place where mana was stored and eventually converted to be used as magic.
This was where magic cultivation techniques played a large role. They were techniques to absorb and safely store mana into the mana sea while also strengthening the mana sea. Once cultivated and strengthened enough, one could even break through into a higher rank of cultivation. Boosting their overall strength, mana sea size, and mana sea strength.
Yin concentrated as much as he could. Imagining the mana in nature. How it flowed, how it moved from place to place and why it moved there. All he could see was darkness for a long moment, before starting to see hints of blue and red hazes in the pitch black darkness.
Soon, the hints of blue and red fused together with multiple other colors to form a rainbow flow that traveled like a breeze of wind. His body had gotten fully transparent, revealing only his mana sea at the middle of his abdomen. Yin could finally see mana. This was a significant step, however, it wasn't the hardest part.
Now, he needed to absorb the mana into his mana sea. Using his imagination, he first tried imagining a force of attraction from the mana to his mana sea. With that failing, he tried imagining multiple other ways, such as the mana travelling through his veins like meridians, or the mana simply flowing to him like a stream of water. Nothing however worked.
Finally, he thought of something new. Cleary, the imagination of natural mana flowing into his mana sea was not sufficient. Yin imagined his mana sea breaking out of his body and slowly travelling towards the mana itself.
On making contact, the mana was immediately absorbed into the mana sea! This was it! He had done it! He had successfully created a magic cultivation technique! Now, he tried to go slightly faster with the mana sea. It roamed around, absorbing all of the mana near it.
Even faster, and faster. After a couple of seconds the sudden sound of grass breaking could be heard as Yin's mana sea completely diminished into thin air, releasing all of the mana inside. 'Fuck! I was too greedy and went too fast! It seems that three mph is the fastest it can go without breaking, its very flimsy, so I must be careful.' Yin thought to himself.
He tried again, this time not going above three mph. Eventually, his mana sea filled up to the max, not being able to absorb any more mana inside. He slowly carried the mana sea back into the core of his abdomen.
Upon setting the mana sea in its place, it immediately started to connect to all veins, releasing a flow of mana throughout. All of Yin's veins were almost three times bigger than before, budging out of his skin. Around his eyes, on his arms and legs and everywhere else.
It felt very unstable, but quickly returned back to normal along with the veins. The mana sea had settled, and Yin finally opened his eyes. "Haha! I've done it!" He yelled as he jumped into the air.
'Wait, what I'm I doing?' He immediately thought to himself, sitting back down and erasing the exited expression on his face. 'Don't do something so cringe...'.
'I've created a new way of absorbing mana. It search's and devours mana like a bloodthirsty hound. I guess I'll call it... Cerberus!'
(Demon lords three headed demon hound of hell.)
'It gave me a new skill? That means that I can also create my own skills!'
The process of mana turning into magic inside of the mana sea was automatic, however it was still possible to speed up the process manually via concentration and meditation. This entire method of absorbing and refining mana to magic was called: Magic cultivation.
'Since I have already filled up my mana sea, it's time for me to now breakthrough into the next rank.' Yin closed his eyes once again. Everything quickly erased from existence once again as he concentrated on his mana sea the most. Imagining the mana spreading throughout his body, and rejuvenating him.
The mana suddenly started to do just that. It flowed through the blood, skin, and hair of Yin. It felt like a tropical, fresh an cool breeze traveling through his body and giving him inner peace. His body hairs started to rise along with his body, slightly floating in the air as he resonated with a light blue aura all around.
Finally, the awakening was done, Yin had broken through to stage human rank one as he stopped floating. He had broken through a rank, but not a stage. Each stage consisted of four ranks. He now only needed to break through three more ranks in order to break through the human stage.
Finally, he opened his eyes and took a large whiff of the air. "Ah! That's... that's... horrendous!!" He instantly noticed the heinous smell of the room immediately. He read of this part, but had completely forgotten until now. Once one breaks through for the first time, they release all impurities.
On Yin's bed existed a large pool of black, heinous smelling sludge.
