Chapter 10 - Sage Of Training; New Fish To Fry

As the noon sky revealed the heat of the bright sun, Yin's sword could still be seen swinging in the air. 'This much training should do for now. There's no point in starving myself.' Yin thought to himself as he stopped and sheathed his sword. A loud growl could be heard from his stomach.

'With this rate of training, I should be able to pass this entrance exams. However, I still cannot be sure. Unfortunately, there's just no way of testing it out.' He thought to himself.

"Yin!" A voice could suddenly be heard coming from the crowd.

'Who is calling my name?' He thought to himself as he turned to face the nobles.

"Please, train me!" A kid said.

"No, train me! You are clearly a genius with immense potential!"

"Please, take me under your wing, sensei!"

Nearly all of the nobles were begging Yin for training desperately.

"Huh!? Don't give me that crap! Leave me alone!" Yin yelled, trying to tear off the nobles that where hugging his legs.

"Please! I need to pass this exam!"

"You are a legendary master! Train me!"

'I'm going to die from this cancerous and unholy amount of cringe!!' Yin thought to himself as he struggled.

Ten minutes later, Yin finally got to eat his lunch. After a couple of minutes of begging from the nobles, he soon lost his temper and gave them all a good beating. "I'm not a grand supreme master or any of the crap you idiots are spouting! I simply have discipline! If you want to become strong, then don't just ask for it! Strength doesn't come to those who ask for it, strength goes to those who go beyond it." Although Yin said this in a fit of rage, these words held value equivalent to nothing less than the value of the world in the eyes of the nobles.

They stopped bothering him after this, and let him eat his lunch in peace.

"Wow... that Yin, he's truly... a grand master!" A kid was in awe after hearing the statement that Yin had just said.

"Your right! The wisdom in his words are amazing!"

The nobles started to train right after, not wasting any time. Their hearts had been set ablaze by the fire of motivation and inspiration.

Leon was also impressed by those words.

"Strength doesn't come to those who ask for it, but to those who go beyond it." He said to himself out loud, trying to understand the true meaning of the words. "Although these idiots are doing far too much, they are right about this statement. It truly has much more meaning then something simply on the surface." He said as he also started to train, putting these words into action.

'Strength goes to those who go beyond it.' He thought to himself as he swung his sword.

'To those who go beyond it.'

'Go beyond it!' Leon continued to train rigorously.

Yin quickly finished his lunch, and headed back to the training grounds to find all of the nobles training fiercely. 'What the hell happened to these dipshits? They are now all of a sudden acting all serious and training with straight faces.' He thought to himself as he entered the field.

"Yin! Thank you!" A voice could be heard as soon as he stepped foot inside of the open field.

He turned around to see Leon on one knee, bowing his head. "Leon, its you. Don't tell me, you've also gone crazy like the other idiots. Your the only one with some sense." He said, seeing how Leon was also speaking similarly to the other nobles.

"No, of course not. However, due to your words, I have overcome a plateau in sword-art that I have struggled to rise above for several years! Thank you Yin! for this, I am forever in your debt." Leon said, placing his hand on his heart.

'What the hell? Why is he saying that he is forever in my debt? What what is with this formal language. I still have to get used to the customs of this world I suppose. Still, were those words really that big of a deal? I simply said it in a fit of rage.' Yin thought to himself.

"Your welcome. Also, don't be so formal, it is not that big of a deal." He said before walking away to an empty area to train.

Leon was shocked. 'Not that big of a deal?' He thought to himself. 'To overcome a plateau in swords-skill is not a large deal to him!? Plateau's in sword-art are considered to be harder to overcome then a low rank break through! Just... who is he?' Leon said in his head as he looked stood up.

'Yin... he is not like the rest of us. He has a different aura around him. An aura of those who are born above others.'

"Grand Sensei Yin! Your words were like the Legendary Elixir of the Phoenix! My sword has become much better already!" Nobles started to surround Yin immediately.

"Supreme Magus Yin! Thank you for your grand knowledge! My training now has true meaning!"

"Yes! I thank you Great Warlock Yin! I have unlocked my potential thanks to you!"

'These brats...'

"Did you forget what happened last time!?" Yin yelled angerly.

Everyone laughed at Yin's frustration. It was a good atmosphere. It was warm, full of pure happiness. This felt quite weird for Yin. He had never experienced something like this before. Were they close to... friends?

'No'

...

'These bastards were telling me to eat dirt just this morning. Sure, maybe they were just competitive, but that doesn't mean I'll forgive them just yet.' Yin thought to himself.

"Everyone shut up! Your annoying voices are making my ears bleed!" He yelled.

Footsteps, like a hoard of of people walking, could be heard in the distance. The first people to notice it were Yin and Leon. As everyone joked, they saw another large group of kids entering the training grounds.

There were also around 15 of them, all having very serious faces, almost as if they were angry at something. They were led by an old looking man who wore a brown robe and had a short gray beard.

"Haha!" A kid from that crowd laughed. "Look at those retards! What the hell are they doing!? Fucking around and not even training."

"This is why you losers always lose in the practice exams! How pathetic can you be. If I were so weak, I would be training my ass off, but you losers are slacking off as if your one of us!" Another kid from that crowd yelled as he laughed.

Everyone next to Yin immediately stopped laughing around and turned towards the crowd of kids who had just entered the training grounds. The kids had malicious smirks on their faces as they walked towards Yin and the others.

"Why is everyone serious all of a sudden. Who are those idiots?" Yin said loudly. 'These bastards don't follow my orders to shut up but when those ugly goons show up they shut their months as quick as a fly.'

"Don't talk so loud! Those kids are the nobles of the eastern kingdoms of this region. They are not exactly forgiving. If they hear you talking about them like that, they won't hesitate to punish you and even your entire noble family." Zoan immediately said in a low tone like a robot, not wasting even a second.

In this continent of Uiovantia, there existed hundreds of regions, and in each region existed kingdoms in the east, west, south and north. Yin, Leon, and the others were from the western kingdoms of their region.

"Huh? What did you say? Punish me?" Yin became slightly annoyed at the remark.

"Where is your instructor? It seems that without him, you kids won't be training enough for the upcoming practice entrance exams, or even the entrance exams for that matter." The old man said as he stroked his short gray beard and scanned the crowd.

"Instructor? We were supposed to have an instructor?" Yin said.

"Yes, however, he became quite sick, and couldn't teach us this year." A kid next to Yin quietly said.

"Just our luck! In the most important year of training, our instructor caught some damn disease." Another kid spoke in the same tone.

"Ah yes! That reminds me, he caught quite a deadly disease didn't he? I wonder if he will make it out alive or not?" The old man spoke in a joking tone with a smirk on his face. All of the kids next to him laughed loudly as-well.

'These people have a bad aura about them. I'm already not liking their tone.' Yin thought to himself. 'Also, they are kind of ugly.'

Yin separated himself from the frozen crowd and started his sword-practice once again.

'This idiot! Does he really not know how big of a deal this is!? If anyone offends the eastern nobles, we all will have to face the consequences!' Zoan thought to himself, seeing Yin start to swing his sword.

'Yin is in the right for training, it is a training ground after all, however, this many not be the perfect place to be training right now. What Zoan said was not false, the eastern nobles have a higher status then us. Beating us up would be simple mercy, they could easily ruin our families and cover it up quite easily because of their status.' Leon also thought to himself seeing Yin train.
