The ship that was transporting the ten new angels took more than a week to reach the angels' new home but this was mainly because other new angels from other kingdoms had to be picked up by Mr Kentai and Mr Borollo before they could head for the Red Valon Society headquarters.
When the new angels arrived at the headquarters, they were immediately shocked to see so many other new angels from other kingdoms.
Zero, who had decided to stay quiet throughout the journey, looked at all the new angels and knew that he was the only one there who didn't have the blood of Adam and that he was the only demon there.
'Well, as expected, nobody would be mad enough to risk their life-fighting demons. Also, no demon would be stupid enough to want to fight alongside angels. Well, it looks like I'm an exception of both.'
Zero thought before hearing a loud ringing of a bell and somebody calling for the new angels' attention.
Zero turned to the shouting and saw a fairly muscular tall dark-skinned man with a loud voice and a serious attitude that sounded like he meant business.
'This guy must be an angel as well. Let's hear what he has to say,' Zero thought before completely turning his body to give the man his full attention.
Once the room became silent, the tall man cleared his throat and welcomed everyone.
"A good morning to you all. My name is Angel Lewis, and if it isn't obvious, I'm an angel, specifically Angel 790, meaning that I'm your senior and therefore you'll call me Mr Lewis.
I would like to welcome all of you to the Red Valon Society, your new home. The place that you will spend the rest of your lives in till you die."
The angel paused for a moment, allowing the new angels to fully grasp the words he said. He opened one eye to see if anyone was trembling in fear but saw no one and decided to move on.
"If in case you're thinking that becoming an angel is just a job in which you will kill a few demons and earn money at the end of the month then you are highly mistaken and you should just prepare for your death because you don't have what it takes to become an angel and so you don't belong here."
The angel fell silent again as though trying to calm himself as he gasped heavily.
"Looks like Lewis nearly lost himself again, " said Borollo with his hands crossed, standing behind the whole crowd.
"Maybe it's because of the large turn-up. He might be nervous, " said Kentai.
"Nervous, that big brute! Well, I'll be damned." Said, Mr. Dara, one of the angels that was assigned to collect the new angels.
Mr Lewis, who was still on stage, sighed and stood up straight before addressing the newcomers.
"Well, as I was saying. Being an angel is not a job, and you shouldn't take it that way. Being an angel is a way of life in which all of you have been chosen to lay your lives down for the sake of bringing down the angels. True, you will earn money and fame, but all of that means nothing when you face to face with an actual demon. So let me ask you one thing: Are you all ready to die?"
A roar resonated from the students as they let out a cheer similar to a battle cry. Mr Lewis' face darkened as a sinister shadow covered his face.
"Well. In that case, let us begin this announcement and get it over with."
Mr Lewis immediately began to talk about the rules of staying in the Headquarters and the rules of battle, training and how the entire angel system works while noting down special tips that he had gotten from years in the field. The students listened carefully to all that Mr Lewis had to say, and after two whole hours of talking, Mr Lewis concluded with his announcement.
"Well, without further ado, let's end this assembly and head to our room till tomorrow when your training will begin. Try to get to know one another and welcome to your new life."
The new angels clapped for the angel as he left the stage, and another person walked up onto the stage this time a woman who was petite and with a simple glance you could tell she was kind and supportive but also dedicated.
"Hello everybody, my name is Mai, and I'm a doctor and scientist here at the organisation. I'm here to help you out with whatever medical treatment you need except for mental treatment that's done by Mrs Okil. Aside from medical treatment, I'm also going to be the one to determine your angel numbers. So if you would follow me this way."
The new angels looked in the direction that Ms Mai was pointing to, and they noticed a small room with bright white lights coming out of it.
They all followed Ms Mai to the room, and they were all instructed to wait outside as the room could only handle a group of 5 people at a time plus two scientists.
The new angels waited outside the small room for their names to be called in groups of 5 following alphabetical order so Zero was the last to have his name read and he was very happy about it as everybody that came out of the room was asked what their number was by other angels and he thought that being insignificant and being dead last would remove all attention from him in case he got a bad number.
'Though I don't understand this whole angel number thing is it our power level or potential or something else entirely.'
"Wilsh, Xavier, Yanis, Yuri and Zero. It's your turn, " said Ms Mai.
The last group entered the small room and in it they saw a large crystal that acted as the light source of the room along with a large platform that had strange writing that were written in a circle inside of the platform. There was also a piece of paper on a desk that one of the scientists was seated on.
"Okay, step on the platform infront of you and say your name. Simple." Said an old scientist that appeared to be very tried from all the tests.
"Wait that's it," asked Wilsh but the old lady just ignored him and told him to do what she says nothing more.
So the five angels stepped onto the platform an immediately began to see the strange writings begin to glow an enchanting green colour. The angels were in awe as they stared at the majestic colour for a while before the old scientist shouted at them to say their full names.
All the angels mentioned their names one by one and when they were all finished the green glow of the strange writings disappeared.
"Hmm, let me see here." Said the old scientist as she looked through the paper that the scientist seated in the chair gave to her and as she was looking through the list of students she saw two things that absolutely shocked her.
She began to read out the angels angel numbers.
"Wilsh: 47
Xavier: 79
Yanis: 25
Yuri: 345 and
Zero: 0"
After announcing the five angels numbers Zero felt immediately disappointed and slightly enraged.
'Oh, so it's funny just that my name is Zero I have angel number Zero. Damn piece of shit.'
As Zero was cursing at the number system the other 3 angels were happy about their numbers. The only ones that weren't happy were Yuri and Zero.
The five angels walked out of the room and Ms Mai saw that everybody was accounted for so she directed everybody to a much larger room that resembled a conference hall.
"Greetings again everybody. I believe you all have received your numbers. So I'll try to keep this brief as I believe that most of you know the significance of those numbers. But just a quick rundown."
Ms Mai then waved her hands and suddenly books started to float over to the students and land right infront of them.
"As you may have noticed, this is a library. It's far larger than this and it's super old so it has lots of useful books for your growth. Though the books that I've placed on your tables are number books that are ranked from single digit all the way to four digit numbers. And basing on your number you'll be able to find what you can do to grow your number."
The angels began to flip through the pages of their books and they noticed that the book's content matched their numbers they were all in shock.
"As you may have realised that those books match your numbers but another thing you'll notice is that they are similar to some angels' and different for others. That's because the books are made for the different angel numbers. From single digit to infinite. Reading those books will help you grow as an angel. Though you can't stay with them forever. You'll have to return them after three months bit you can borrow them again using a library card."
Zero looked at the book he received and saw that it didn't have a specific title like the rest and the content inside was almost similar to everyone.
