Chapter 3 - A Divorce

Victor turned to look at her and said sincerely, "My darling, in my heart, you are still my dear Luna. I swear to the Moon Goddess that I will respect and love you for the rest of my life."

If it had been the old Tris, she would have believed that Victor still had feelings for her after hearing his affectionate words.

But now, she knew that his love for her had changed from the moment he met Wendy.

She did not say a word. In the eyes of her tribespeople, her hardened face looked like she was trying hard not to let her sadness show.

Their Luna was always so solemn and decent.

As she expected, after Victor expressed his love and devotion to her, he looked at Wendy with affection.

"But Wendy suffered too much before she met me. She didn't have strong combat strength, nor did she come from a noble background. Darling, you won't understand how a poor person like her could survive!"

Wendy was a slave with a low status. It was said that she was orphaned when she was very young.

Victor's tone was gentle and sympathetic, but to Tris, he seemed to imply that Tris came from a noble background and didn't understand how pitiful Wendy was.

So, Victor was already so biased toward Wendy then?

That was right. She was the daughter of Alpha and was born with noble status.

But who knew how much effort she had put in and how many days and nights of hard work to become Luna, who was now trusted and loved by her clansmen.

When she was injured during training, no one would ask her if it was difficult or tiring.

Everyone thought that it was what she should do.

She was only an ordinary woman.

'Victor, you only pity Wendy, but you have never seen my sadness.'

After Victor said this, he turned and said to Tris, "Darling, I know that you are kind-hearted. I beg you to accept Wendy and allow her to become a member of our tribe so that she won't be lonely anymore..."

'Allow her to take away my Alpha...' Tris finished Victor's sentence in her heart.

Victor's voice was affectionate and gentle. Hearing that, the people present were all moved.

What a kind and tolerant Alpha!

At this moment, if Tris rejected Victor's permission and refused to accept Wendy, it would appear that she was narrow-minded, vicious, and jealous!

It was the same before. It was apparent that Tris was the pitiful woman whose husband had been snatched away by Wendy. However, because she had always maintained her dignity and strength in the tribe, no one thought she was pitiful.

On the contrary, the pitiful and tearful Wendy had snatched away the sympathy of the tribespeople!

Tris took a deep breath and looked up to see Victor's expectant gaze. She also saw a flash of pride in Wendy's eyes.

Although the tribespeople sympathized with Tris, most of them still stood on Victor's side. They were moved by Wendy's delicate and pitiful appearance and hoped Tris would be kind and generous enough to accept Wendy.

Tris smiled sadly. "Victor, congratulations on meeting your Fated Mate. I don't object to you keeping Wendy."

The excitement and pride in Wendy's eyes could not be concealed. Victor also let out a long sigh of relief and was about to hug her in joy.

Tris took a step back and avoided his hand.

'Do you expect to have both the old and new in each of your arms?' Tris sneered in her heart.

"But, Victor, I love you so much that I can't bear to watch you being intimate with another woman..." Tris exploited her sadness and forced two drops of tears to fall from her eyes.

It seemed that crying was not difficult. No wonder Wendy liked to use tears to gain sympathy.

Tris quickly mastered the trick of crying and cried with extreme sadness.

However, she stubbornly straightened her back and tried to maintain her dignity and solemnity as Luna. Although tears kept rolling down her beautiful face, she did not appear to be in a sorry state. Instead, she looked sad and beautiful.

This tribal crowd saw the contradictory sense of brokenness, which shook them deeply.

Their noble and respected Luna was pitiful!

At this moment, Tris' tears reminded them that she was only a woman!

She was just as pitiful as Wendy and deserved their sympathy.

"Victor, then let's... get a divorce! I will give my blessings to you and Wendy. I believe that Wendy can do better than me and become your perfect wife... Victor, I love you very much. Please believe this. I will leave this relationship voluntarily."

Tris wiped her tears and finished her sentence with a sob.

Victor and Wendy were both stunned.

The tribespeople was also stunned.

A divorce?

Victor said hurriedly, "No, my darling, we can't divorce!"

Victor had dared to bring Wendy here today because he had predicted that Tris would accept Wendy.

Tris had always been dignified and magnanimous, and she loved him deeply. She would not make him sad and make things difficult for a poor slave in front of her tribesmen.

But who would have thought that she would divorce him!
