Chapter 27 - Chapter 9.2

That's what happened today.

- Hmm, standing there, freaks," - the namesake grinned when he saw the zombies. - How many are there in the city?

- As many people as there are dead," - one of the stalkers who sat in the cabin next to a pair of samurai golems answered angrily. - More than a million.

- A million wouldn't be enough. Kids, old people, someone killed and eaten right away... you don't have to count that part as a zombie.

- Thanks for reminding me.

- I'm sorry," - Alex realized something, - "I didn't mean to offend.

Stalker probably lost some of his family and friends. Probably even signed up for the team that takes the most risks and sometimes returns from the city not in full force, hoping to find the loss.

Twenty meters before the outermost zombie, the head sable stopped and released five men and two golems from the interior. The men were dressed in armor and armed with axes and swords; the golems, Chappie type, held spears with long, wide tips, which they used to chop the living dead to pieces. Ten more men with similar weapons and equipment emerged from the back of the KamAZ, which was rolling along, with the help of a ladder (the one carried for this purpose).

- Guys, let the samurai out," - I turned back and turned to the passengers.

- What for? - The namesake was astonished. - Our guys can handle it, that's why they're trained on zombies.

- It's necessary, Ferb, it's necessary.

Someone in the cabin snorted with laughter.

At my mental command, the golems stepped out ahead of the squad, accompanied by perplexed looks, and cut into the zombie crowd. Each samurai was armed with a long, two-handed, katana-like sword they'd forged in our village forge. Strengthened with my blood and made of fine steel, the blade chopped a nail-cotton without getting even a tiny burr, and the weight of the weapon and the strength of the hands that held it allowed it to chop a human dead and rebellious body in one blow. And now I wanted to see the effect (or lack thereof) after re-enchanting with the firemage's blood.

The golems began the fight almost synchronously, chopping the two nearest dead men from the left shoulder to the right side, immediately striking their neighbors from the bottom up, cutting off their legs, and, in a third move, almost nonstop blowing the heads off two more foes.
