Things haven't always been the best, currently I live in the city, I go to a school filled with people. The only reason I have friends is because I'm on the volleyball and debate teams. I'm well known around school, but by no means popular.
Things are pretty okay right now. My parents are happily married and I'm an only child. They give me their time and love, however, I'm still second to work. It's very assuring knowing I have both parents though.
*BAM*
I run right into someone, I was so lost in thought. Quickly I grab my books from off the ground.
"I'm so sorry" I mumble not looking at the person I ran into.
"Its okay Carlotta" I hear his voice speak. It couldn't be him. Looking up a bite my lower lip.
"Vincent?" I ask, frowning small as I study his face.
"Hey Carlotta" he mumbles awkwardly, "Guess who finally moved to the big city from that small town" he chuckles out.
"Good for you" I nod small, I can feel tears building in my eyes, but I blink them back. It's been almost 3 years since I last saw him. I shouldn't be upset anymore.
"Yeah, but how have you been?" He asks, putting his arms around me hugging me tightly.

It was a rainy day, that should have been the first sign of bad news. As my mom drives me up to the small town. I was prepared to spend a few night at Vincent's house, in his sister's room of course. I mean we are only 15.
As we pull up to his house I felt increasingly nervous and anxious. I'm never nervous to see him, why is today any different? I don't know to be honest. My stomach turning, making me want to vomit.
"Okay honey, stay safe please" my mom says as she pulls up to his house. "And text me in the morning"
"I will mom, I love you" I nod getting out.
"I love you too!" She calls after me as I walk inside. I was told to just come in, though, I am early. Shrugging, I just head inside. Vincent's parents must not be home yet. Slowly I walk up the stairs, it's too quiet. That's when I hear a girl's voice.
"Vincent" was all I heard. Slowly look into his room through the crack from the door to the wall. There, in a full make out session Vincent and a girl I've never seen before.
I did not expect to see that, I can feel myself shaking. As I back up from the door. Quickly the door swings open and I look up at to see Vincent.
"Carlotta, you're early" he spoke taking a step towards me. How'd he even hear me?
"I.." was all I could get out. I shake my head and quickly turn to leave.
"Carlotta wait" Vincent calls after me, "Carlotta she's just a friend!"
"Bull" I whisper as tears stream down my face. I never thought my heart could hurt so much at the age of fifteen. Everyone kept telling me not to put so much into our relationship. Everyone said we most likely wouldn't last. And they were right.
"No no no" Vincent says grabbing my hand and turning me to face him.
"Carlotta you didn't–" I cut him off before he continues.
"I didn't expect you to cheat. I didn't expect to see your lips on another girl" I hiss turning once again to leave.
"Carlotta!" Vincent yells after me as I walk past his parents, who I'm assuming just got here, and out the door. All three follow.
"Carlotta what happened?" Mr. Koller asks.
"Your sons a cheater" I state pulling out my phone and texting my mom to come back.
"What?" Mrs. Koller asks.
"I can explain" Vincent mumbles, "I was teaching Athena how to make out with someone, I wasn't cheating!"
"Bull" I mumble shaking my head "That is cheating"
Silence
"Carlotta, we are so sorry about our son's behavior. Please come back inside and we can talk this out" Mr. Koller spoke placing his hand on my shoulder. Making me sob harder.
"There's nothing to talk about" I mumble wiping the tears, I never thought my heart could hurt so much.
—
"Please don't touch me" I whisper shaking softly as I shove him away. When he touches me I felt sparks shooting through me. That's new.
"Sorry" He mumble rubbing the back of his neck small.
"I've been fine though" I state looking up at him.
"Thats good" He mumbles small.
"Much better without you in my life" I shrug.
"Ouch" he chuckles small, "Don't worry, I'll have you back" he nods walking away. I watch him walk away and frown small. Like hell you'll have me back.
"Oh my God, who was that hottie?" My best friend Tiffany asks, making me frown more.
"Vincent" I shrug unimpressed as we start walking to class.
"Really?" She asks "Oh girl I'm so sorry" she says giving me a big hug.
"Why are you sorry?" I ask snickering small "Just because he's hot now, doesn't mean his personality got any better"
"True point" she laughs small. "Anyways.." she starts to talk as we walk. My eyes start to wonder around, seeing Vincent with a few guys. Eventually my eyes wonder back to Tiffany as we walk into class.
"Are you even listening?" She asks with a small pout.
"Sorry" I mumble sitting down.
"Girl, don't let him distract you" she says nudging me small, "You're way better then him"
"Thanks Tiff" I smile
