After he reminisced about the past, he shook his head then gazed at Head Benjamin.
"Nothing." Hans immediately replied.
The Head got irritated by the way Hans acted that made him pull his shirt, while Jasper tried to separate them.
"Woah there! Easy now!" he exclaimed in a panic tone.
Head Benjamin's eyes glower to purple because of his anger as he hissed to remind him, "Listen here, it's not that I'm worried about you or anything. But with the way you keep things to yourself right now... Pisses me off! Aren't we a clan?! Aren't we considered here a family?! What if your actions will endanger the clan like the last time?!"
Hans knew that Head Benjamin was right that he would eventually put the clan in danger and that he won't be able to hide things forever. However, he could only give him an assurance.
"I'll tell you…No, I mean…I will tell everyone myself when the time comes."
Then he looked into Head Benjamin's eyes to make him see that he will keep his words, no matter what. When the Head saw the honesty in Hans's eyes, he couldn't help but admit to himself defeat. He let goes of him as he flickered.
"Tsk, you better be." He said.
Jasper stared at them confusingly, "I'm confused. Are you really not on good terms or what?"
Hans and Head Benjamin answer in unison, "No!"
Jasper raised his hands in surrender then when he suddenly realized something, his face turned smug as he tried to act like a baby.
"Oh, come on. Can't you two make up just like the past? The three of us used to be close and often called the unheard trio, you know?"
The other two just rolled their eyes at Jasper's remarks. However, they do feel nostalgic when they hear the young master's words.
Just as Jasper said, the three of them used to be friends. When Hans was five, he was introduced to the clan with the former Head and their heir, which were the current Head. A lifeless child he was, Head Benjamin felt an emotion of closeness from him even though he knew nothing about him, except for the fact that he was a human. Head Benjamin along with Jasper kept visiting him, regardless, being constantly ignored by him.
They then eventually found out that Hans didn't know how to speak and only trained under the father—former leader—of the Director's care. They often silently visit him during his training and would teach him how to write and speak when he's on a break or when nobody is around. He was able to learn everything they taught him way faster than usually humans do.
They also saw how much he suffered during his training, and how they would meet him with new bruises and wounds. Head Benjamin wanted to stop Hans from doing crazy things and allow him to protect him but Hans constantly refuses. A few days before Hans's acceptance as an official member of the clan, their friendship was destroyed; leaving a crying Jasper in the middle of nowhere to choose between them.
Head Benjamin and Hans eventually forgot the reason for the destruction of their friendship. Jasper, who actually knew the source of their fight never spoke about it until they, themselves, remembered it. Hans didn't want to reminisce more of it, so he excused himself since he needed to hand in his report to the Director. Head Benjamin, who is having the same feeling as him, went back to check on Emma.
When Hans arrived at his master's office, he knocked on the door and went inside after his master allowed him. He saw his master, busy doing his paper works. Dir. Melvis noticed that it was his apprentice; he began to place the papers aside as he moved his left hand over his right and rested his chin on top of it, while his elbow laid on the table.
"You're a stubborn one, aren't you?" He said.
Hans informed as he handed the paper to him, "I came to hand in my report."
The Director accepted the black folder then scanned through his reports.
"Good job. You did more work than the others, even though you were absent these past few weeks. How did you do that?" he asked after complimenting him.
Hans explained to his master in monotone, "I brought some paper works at home from time to time. I got bored so I started working on some of the leftovers."
His master grinned then dismissed him to continue his work in his office. After Hans went out of the Director's office, Head Kelly saw him, which made her run in excitement.
"Hansy!" She called out his name as she began to cry out of joy upon seeing his favorite human.
They both stumbled on the ground when Head Kelly jumped on him and hugged him tightly as she rubbed her face against his.
"How are you, Hansy?! Where have you been?! I missed you so much!" She squealed in happiness while Hans gave out a poker face.
When the Heads were right in front of them, Hans immediately stood up as he helped Head Kelly then greeted and bowed to them with respect. Unlike Head Kelly who is happy to see Hans well, the rest of the Head gave him a serious look while Head Benjamin avoided his gaze.
"How have you been?"
Head Akito asked him in monotone which Hans informed him that he was fine and could already continue his work.
The Head nodded and responded to him, "Good."
Then Head Melissa immediately interrupted, "Care to explain something?" in hope for him to respond.
However, Hans gave a confused look for wasn't sure what the female Head was referring to. The other Heads wanted to stop her since they promised to the Director not to ask or force Hans to confess anything.
When she realized that Hans didn't quite get her question, she rephrased it, the Heads were reluctant to stop her because they, themselves, hoped to know what he and the two Harlow's were hiding.
"Care to explain what happened two weeks ago." Head Melissa asked again as she crossed her arms with superiority.
If you're wondering if these female Heads already had pairs. Yes, they do, except for Head Audeth. Their pair are one of the top special agent forces who are happy and proud but at the same time worried for their Female Bloods to exhaust and risk their lives too much.
Being a Female Blood Head wasn't by sheer luck, but through their hard work. Since they carry the responsibility and the weight of danger around them each day. With how they make their abilities stronger made the former Heads recognize them, and became the chosen heir for their thrones.
They waited for him to say anything but none came out from his mouth which Head Melissa concluded, "I see."
Then she added, "We'll try not to meddle nor force you, as long as you do your work properly. Try not to affect the clan from it."
Hans responded to her then they passed through him.
Head Kelly lightly tugged his clothes and whispered to him, "I made lunch for you. I already asked the agent under you to place it in your office. Eat it and stay healthy, okay?" Then she smiled sweetly at him.
Hans nodded as she thanked her with greatness. When the Heads went inside to the director's office, Hans sighed in relief. Hans went to the training ground to instruct the hunters under his command.
He gave them their training regimen for the day to the new hunters in training whereas he ordered the other to start their work. He watched the new trainees while giving them some advice to improve their ability and polished their fighting skills.
Soon after, he decided to head back to his office to work on his job. He commanded them to continue their training and will soon come back to check on them. He called on the agent to take his place and to make sure everything will be finished before he comes back, then the agent nodded and replied to his orders.
When he arrived at his office, he saw a lunch box on top of his table. He opened it and there were cute designs made from fruits and viands then he saw the calligraphic words made from the sauce saying, 'Eat well and stay healthy!'
He then knew that Head Kelly made it for him as he reminisced her words back then. He sat down whereas he took the chopsticks and slowly gobbled the foods as he smiled lightly at the delicious food he's eating now.
Back to where the Heads are now. When the Heads were now inside the director's office, they saw Dir. Melvis smiled at them as he said.
"Welcome."
The Head looked at each other and then to their leader.
"Why did you call for us, Director?" Head Akito asked.
Dir. Melvis smirked to him and said, "Glad you asked."
