"DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE, YOU PEOPLE ARE THE ONLY SENTIENT BEING ON THIS UNIVERSE..?"
The silhouette asked me as if he already knew the answer.
And honestly I knew too, considering the one doing such rhetorical interrogation wasn't from my planet. I don't know how I came to such a conclusion but, I was very much certain of my assessment. Some people might say that 'I had a hunch'.
Me:Welp, I used to believe it. But now, I'm not so sure.
Then the beautiful yet frightening silhouette started to laugh for a reason which, I'm sure a lower sentient being like me couldn't comprehend.
Silhouette: JACK..!
JACK..!
HEY JACK WAKE UP..!
I woke up...
Took me a few moment to realize that it was Aliza and not the mysterious silhouette who was obnoxiously calling me.
People usually open their eyes when they wake up. But, I decided to keep mine shut. Anything to bargain five more minutes out of her.
Me: What time is it..? ~Sleepy voice
Aliza: You're running 30 minutes late.
Sir Norman is going to chew us alive. ~Yelling
Me: Who was on patrol duty today..?
I know I wasn't...
Aliza: Me neither, doesn't mean I'm going to report half an hour late... ~Still yelling
"Quit yelling Aliza! It doesn't look good if the Vice-captain of the highly decorated Stone squad 'Dame Aliza Alvarez' yells at the top of her lungs now does it..?" I said while finally opening my eyes.
after I opened my eyes, the regular view of my quarter greeted me. My table which I left scrambled is tidy now. I know who to thank for that. Ever since we started dating at the Military Academy, Aliza has been acting less like girlfriend and more like a mother to me.
Aliza: I don't think people will mind my yelling too much, seeing such a mess of a squad captain.
"Is that so..?" I said while grabbing her wrist and pulling her close to me. She didn't object so I proceeded to kiss her. She's as beautiful as always. Her blushing cheeks on that white skin of hers makes her look so innocent, and her pink lips is so- ~jeez! what's the word?~ Let's go with 'luscious', and those pearl blue eyes are so mesmerizing, and her silver blonde hair was so- *Knock* *Knock*
Someone was knocking so hard that it seemed like they were going to break the door at any moment. Aliza ran to the door and opened it. It was Sir Norman.
Norman: Oy mate! Having a nice date with your sweetheart are ya?
Me: I was, until you ruined it. ~Whispered
Norman: Welp, my apologies chap. It seems I disturbed you. ~Sarcastically
Aliza: Good day to you Sir..!
Sir Stone was waiting for his uniform to dry...
Norman: Alvarez you know damn well that covering for him will only make it worse right..?
Me: I am sorry sir.
I was fast asleep sir.
Aliza was staring daggers at me. Although Sir Norman didn't seem to be surprised. He was used to my behavior I guess. after all He has been our section commander since me and Aliza joined 3 years ago. He might sound harsh but, he cares about us like a tough father.
Norman: Anyway, get ready and report to me in 30 minutes.
Aliza&Me: Aye Sir..!
After Norman left Aliza gave me a piece of her mind, then helped me get ready. After that me and aliza went out to report to the Commander, completely forgetting about the dream I had.
But I know now. It was a prelude to all the twists and turns that was to come my way. Twists and turns beyond my wildest of imaginations...
