Adenos had learned that Adrian was his step-brother. Adenos had been an only child his entire life. The prospect of having a brother pleased him. This sensation was pleasant. He gave himself a small smile.
His wolf Ale had trusted Adrian the first time he saw him, even though he didn't know Adrian. He couldn't make sense of that at the time, but now he understood that the reason for his trust was that he had a brother. Adrian was also Aida's brother, which was an interesting fact to learn.
'Alpha Aida, shall we talk?' he asked through their mind link. First, there was silence, after that Aida's soft voice echoed inside his mind.
'I don't think we can delay this conversation any longer. I know you were talking to Cornelia. Come to my office.'
'I am on my way.' he said and went out into the hallway.
He knocked lightly twice on the door and walked right in.
'You're never going to change, are you?' said Aida.
'How?'
'You knock on the door, but you come in without waiting for my answer, and one day you'll be in serious trouble for it,' Aida remarked, smiling.
"Okay, but you said you were waiting for me," he smiled too.
'Come sit down,' Aida said, directing him to the sofa across from her desk, where she sat next to him.
'I believe you are aware that the young man below is my stepbrother.'
Adenos nodded.
'Adenos, what will I do? I can't convince Ernest. He believes it is our disaster.'
'Aida, I have to make a confession to you too.'
Aida frowned and turned her gaze to Adenos. 'Come on, I've learned so many horrible things today that one more or less doesn't matter.'
Adenos pinched the bridge of his nose. Aida knew very well that he did this when he was in trouble, or he was bored. She encouraged Adenos to speak by looking at him, knowing she wouldn't like what she was about to learn. She was the Alpha. She realized she had no choice but to listen to anything he had to say, whether she liked it or not.
'Umm, how to say, Dana had been my mom. Or rather, she was Dirk's fared mate.'
'Did Cornelia tell you that?' he asked
"Yes, along with many other things."
'I heard about Dana today, Emily told me. I am so sorry.'
'There is nothing to worry about, it's her who abandoned me, not you.'
'Emily stated that Dana was your mother and that she was my father's fated mate. She also stated that Dana is a witch, who complicates my connection with Grandpa.
There's also Adrian to consider. He's also Dana's son from my father, therefore we're related. Also, you and Adrian are step-brothers. Damn it, it's very complicated.'
Adenos had noticed that Aida did not refer to Adrian as her step-brother, she had mentioned him as a relative. He ignored this and continued their conversation again from where they had left off.
'Aida, there is one last thing. I and Adrian are half-witches because of Dana, which gives us the ability to do magic. However, my magic ability was sealed by my mother. Whenever I was with my fated mate, only then would I be able to regain my magic ability. But I don't know about Adrian's situation.'
'Look, I didn't know that. This information is new to me. I guess that's why Ernest didn't want me to appoint you as my Beta. You were the son of the witch.'
'If I succeed in finding my fated mate, I will gain my magical powers. Honestly, I don't know if this is good or bad.' He mumbled.
'I'd choose you as my Beta regardless of whether you could cast a magic or not.'
'Really? How comforting it was for you to say that. Before I came here, I had decided to step down from my Beta role if you wouldn't want me here because of my magic ability. Now I see, how it was unnecessary.' Adenos said with a sigh of relief.
'Are you stupid? Being a half-witch could actually help us in the future. Consider this: by utilizing your abilities, we can do what we otherwise could not.'
'Don't be silly; it's just a dream until the spell on me wiped off. Anyway, forget about me and tell me. What are your thoughts on Adrian? What did you think of him?'
'Please stop, you're getting out of control. It is an issue that is impossible for me to decide so quickly.'
'But he's your brother, and thus theoretically my brother as well. I understand that this is a very complicated situation. But, Aida, I suppose we can decide together. What do you think? I understand that you are accustomed to making such important decisions on your own. Look, we can bear the weight of this decision together; you don't have to shoulder all of the responsibilities on your own. In the end, it will be decided about our half-brother. Furthermore, he is a victim of abuse.' Said Adenos all in one breath.'
