After a minute or two of silence, Adrian asks Adenos to confirm the reality that he captured.
'Well, you mentioned some information about mother, but you didn't say her name.' What was her name, exactly?' he asked timidly Adenos.
'I believe you know who my mother, or should I say our mother, is. Dana is our mother.' He enthusiastically continued his speech. 'I was overjoyed when I found out I had a sibling, which I had assumed I would never have. 'You are my brother, Adrian,' he exclaimed as he rose from the table, arms spread to embrace Adrian.
Adrian, on the other hand, was befuddled by these astonishing events and had no idea what to do.
'You can't be my brother; my mother couldn't possibly have cheated on my father because they were deep in love. My mother loved my father so deeply that she couldn't bear his anguish and died unexpectedly as he breathed his last. Now you're telling me that someone who died like this had cheated on her fated mate and had a child from someone else. 'It's a lie!' he shouted.
Adenos stayed still and was taken aback by Adrian's reaction, but he believed it was only normal that his emotions were mixed up, and he wanted to calm him.
'I want to be alone, leave me alone!' Adrian exclaimed. He walked into his room, shut the door, and slid on the floor with his back to it. He buried his head in his hands and sobbed.
'This isn't true. Please tell me this isn't true, Demus. How could my mother love someone else and have a child with him if they weren't fated to be together? 'Didn't my mother ever acknowledge her fate?' asked Adrian.
He imagens his mother's loving stare on her father, and he realizes he doesn't recall them disagreeing about anything. They were happy fated mate. They were created as two halves of one soul by the Moon Goddess, and they had sincerely loved each other until they died. Adrian was suffering from all these images and emotions. Adrian understands that Demus has appeared in the back of his mind while he struggles with these imaginations.
"Don't be worried, son; your parents were obviously suited for each other." However, anyone can make a mistake. Your mother waited for her fated partner for a long time before deciding to live with someone she thought would adore her. She did what many wolves do. Besides, I'm not sure why you're so selfish. Consider Adenos! Think of your mum. She left him behind her. But he doesn't blame you; in fact, he's willing to welcome you as a brother.'
I'm not sure what makes you so obstinate. Your mother didn't betray your father. Before your mother met your father, this happened. That is not your mother's fault. Furthermore, you meet new family members at a time when you've lost your own.'
Adrian cut off Demus' speech, saying, "Don't be ridiculous. My parents betrayed me. They used to tell me that fated mates are two parts of the same soul. But have a look at what I discovered! My mother was able to love and have a child with someone else before my father. You now want me to be overjoyed that I have a new family member. NEVER! Adenos' just a stepbrother. There will never be more. I should also make it clear that I don't believe in this fate's mate nonsense, and I'll never be with someone for the rest of my life.'
As soon as Adrian utters these words, his head starts to spin.
Demus takes control, Adrian's eyes turn black.
"Son, you're making a lot of meaningless sentences." What do you mean, he's merely a half-brother? He's your mother's bloodline and a Beta. Your mother is a half-witch since he is a half warlock. It's not much different in your case. You're also a half-warlock, Alpha. What options do you have? I understand you can't see all those things clearly, yet your rejection of your brother perplexes me. You're the alpha, and you're young, you have a wolf like me, who is old and well qualified, as well as a power you don't fully comprehend. You should consider how you can leverage this circumstance in your favor now that you know Adenos is also a half warlock Beta. Furthermore, I am unable to accept what you said regarding the fated mate. If you don't alter your decision, kid, I will not hesitate to punish you. For millennia, I've been looking for my fated mate, and when I discover it, I'll mark it and don't care what you think. But, in the meantime, I'm going to sleep.' Demus snarled all of this in one breath before becoming silent.
Adrian's eyes had gone green once more. Demus had returned control to him. Demus was becoming Adrian's worst fear.
'I believe this old beast will put me to the test in every decision I make.' 'I need to figure out how to deal with him soon,' he reasoned.
'You are mistaken if you believe it will be that simple.' Demus responded from the depths of Adrian's mind.
