Giovanni Walker
I stayed beside Kai's bedside, trying to ignore the beeping sounds of the machines hooked to Kai's body that sounded through the room. Ever since what had happened three days ago, I have not left this room since, and Kit does, but only when it is absolutely necessary. Kit told our parents about what had happened, and sent everyone else in the Royal family home except for about twenty guards just in case if something were to happen, it wouldn't just be me and Kit here with untrained warriors. But I know Kit is trying to restrain himself from killing our, well, father-in-law who had accidentally put Kai here in the hospital bed.
I can't say I blame Jordan too much, even though he was the cause of this. Kit and I knew there would be a chance that he would flip out seeing how Kai is his only son, and we recently met, but neither one of us could've predicted this as an outcome, and I wish I had foreseen it. If it had been the case, I would've gladly jumped ahead, and took the blow that Jordan had inflicted upon Kai, and I would rather it be me in the bed than him, because if he died, at least he would still have Kit, and Kit would have Kai.
I gently reached out and brushed his blonde hair from his face, watching as he peacefully slept. The doctor said Kai would be fine, it's just since he is a weaker Wolf, it'll take some time for him to heal properly, and that's why he isn't waking up. I can't say I like it though. I just want him to open those pretty eyes and smile at me once again, because besides Kit, Kai is the person I need in my life, and when he's down and out of commission like this, it hurts me and my Wolf. My Wolf whimpers and also begs for Kai's Wolf to awaken, but even he too is deep in the slumber of Kai's mind, and only time would tell when he would wake up.
"How is he?" I heard a soft voice come from the doorway, because if I didn't have the great hearing, I wouldn't have heard it.
My head snapped up, and I saw Jordan standing in the doorway, looking absolutely miserable. My Wolf growled, not wanting him anywhere near Kai, but I know Jordan didn't hurt Kai on purpose, and this is probably destroying him more so than me or even Kit. And judging from the bags under his eyes, that's the case.
"Fine." I grumbled, squeezing Kai's hand softly, "still asleep."
"I see that." Jordan whispered, breathing in deeply before he walked into the room and sat in the empty chair, "I've, um, tried to talk to Christian but he walks the other direction before I can even get a few words in. Any recommendations?"
I shrugged my shoulders, "time. He's mad, at both you and him."
"Yeah, me too." Jordan agreed, gently reaching out and grasping Kai's other hand, and I wanted to bite it off, "I'm sorry, Giovanni. I know it's no excuse, but Kai is my baby boy. He's my everything, and when I saw the three of you, and the marks, I just went overboard and saw red, even though I know you two would take very good care of him, I just, well, lost it, and couldn't even stop in time from hurting Kai. It's something I'm going to have to live with for the rest of my life."
"Agreed." I murmured, knowing exactly how he's feeling, "I do understand where you're coming from, and although I'm nice to you here, I still feel the exact same way. To Kit, you hurt OUR mate, not your son. And my Wolf would love nothing more to sink its claws and fangs into you and hurt you ten fold for what you did to Kai. And I know Kit feels the same way, and that's why he walks away from you, because the blow was meant for him, and right now, he blames both you and himself for Kai's injuries. So my best advice, leave him alone and honestly, leave me alone as well, because I can be easily tempted as well. I will have someone come get you when Kai wakes up, if he wants to see you, but till then, please don't come around here. I'm afraid of what Kit might do if he sees you near Kai right now."
I could tell that Jordan wanted to protest, but by being his Alpha, he had to follow my orders, whether he liked them or not. Jordan bowed his head and rose to his feet, but before he left, he leaned down and pressed a kiss to Kai's forehead, and whispered something so low I couldn't even hear, before he headed out of the room, closing the door behind him. I sighed in annoyance, rubbing my eyes in frustration as I heard the door open once more but as I looked up, I saw it was Kit.
He didn't see a word as he walked over and sat in the spot where Jordan had just been, and gently grabbed Kai's hand, leaning forward so his cheek was laying on the bed and he just held Kai's hand. Kit closed his eyes, and seemed to doze off, but I couldn't quite tell if he was actually asleep or not. I know this was hurting Kit a lot, especially since he can't really punish the person who had hurt Kai. I sighed once more, and I leaned back in my chair, deciding it would be a good idea to maybe take a nap and maybe when I wake up, Kai would be awake as well.
Or at least I hope so...
Please, Kai, wake up. We need you...
