After Silas finished explaining what had happened more in detail with that wolf and Gio and Kit, I couldn't help but frown, more than just a little confused, "so he's mad at me because I decided to be with Gio and Kit, and not try and kill one of them like his brother did?"
"I think it's more so he's mad at his brother for not being like you." Silas corrected, shrugging his shoulders, "but I know he's still mad at the Alphas for executing Eren the way that they did, but thankfully, it wasn't a public execution, and the only people that were there to see it was Alpha Theodore and the wolf who was to execute Eren. I think Erik would've flipped out if he actually had to see his brother be killed. Erik is mated now, to that wolf who is beside him. His name is Alaric Ricardo, and they have been mated for a couple of years now. Alaric is really the only person who can be mated to Erik, because he's the only one who could deal with Erik's tempter and issues."
I looked over, eyes narrowed. I have to admit, Erik is pretty handsome although he has a pretty much permanent scowl on his face which marred his handsome features. He is about 6'4", with tan skin from training out in the sun, and broad muscles that were easily defined by his clothing, especially when he crossed his arms over his chest. He has short black hair and these piercing blue eyes that seem to give you a death stare, and pretty much seem like it's going to put you six feet under with just one angry look.
And then you have Alaric, who's actually really pretty, and you wouldn't expect to be Erik's mate, as he looks way more kind than Erik is. He looks to be about 5'6", with fair skin and a lean body, with slightly wider hips than most. He has shoulder-length wavy brown hair that glinted a little golden in the sunlight and these bright green eyes that practically sparkled with happiness. I watched as Alaric cuddled into Erik who although it was obvious he was still trying to put on that stoic expression, you could see the small bit of happiness in his eyes as he looked at Alaric, wrapping his arm around Alaric.
"He seems like he really loves his mate." I murmured, wondering if it would be a good idea to try and talk to him and try to make amends, "it's not good though to dwell on bad feelings, especially since it was his own brother's fault for trying to have Giovanni killed, and he made his own choice. It wasn't Giovanni's fault, Christian's fault, MY fault, or even Erik's fault. Eren did what he did, and he was punished for it. That's just how it works."
Silas looked surprised by what I said, but he just nodded in response. I guess my staring was too obvious, because Erik's head turned and his eyes locked with mine. I couldn't read his expression, and I couldn't help but wonder what was going through his mind. I don't see why he hates me so much, even if Gio and Kit did decide to choose me as their mate after what had happened with Eren. Shouldn't they be allowed to be happy after what Eren did to them?
But it didn't seem to matter to Erik as he shot me a glare, and turned away...
I scoffed. How rude.
A few hours later, I was pretty much alone in my house. Since we were going to leave tomorrow morning and head for the main house, there were still a few things that were going to be needed right now at this moment. Dad, Kit, and Gio had gone out on patrol, teaching some of the younger wolves who were in training what needed to be done and the proper ways of doing things. Silas and Kody also went on this patrol, and mom went over to the main pack house here in the village for some kind of women's meeting that was being hosted, and only happens every couple of weeks. Mom was going to postpone the meeting and just go to the next one, but I wouldn't let her. I made her go, saying that I was going to be just alright being home by myself.
Since I was home, I made myself some mac and cheese, and a hot dog to go with it. You never can go wrong with mac and cheese if you ask me, but it has to be homemade, and it has to be very cheesy. I grabbed a Dr. Pepper from the freezer, having put it in there for about fifteen minutes so it would get nice and cold - the only way to drink a drink. I headed into the living room and sat down on the couch, grabbing the remote so I could find something on the tv to watch. I ended up finding a horror movie called "The Wendigo" which seemed pretty cheesy but you can't complain too much. I do like cheesy movies, especially when it comes to horror movies.
I started to eat my food, and pressed play on the movie, starting to get immersed in the movie. But just as I was getting about halfway through the movie, I heard the doorbell ring. I frowned, looking up as I wondered who was here since I wasn't expecting anybody and I didn't think anybody would be home yet. Besides, they wouldn't just ring the doorbell, they would just come inside obviously.
I rose to my feet, and I set my food down on the table beside the couch along with my drink, and I headed to the front door, hearing the doorbell go off once more. I sighed, looking through the peephole but it was too dark outside to see anything in front of me. My eyebrows furrowed, and I opened the door, seeing the person's back was turned to me.
"Um, can I help you?" I murmured, more than a little confused.
The person looked over his shoulder, and I was surprised at who I saw standing there:
"Alaric?" I questioned him, now even more confused about what was going on.
A slight smile made its way onto his face as he turned around to fully look at me, "hello. Kai, right?"
I nodded slightly, "um, yes, that's correct. Can I help you?"
"Can I step in?" Alaric murmured softly, a kind look on his face.
My eyebrows furrowed but I stepped back, "um, sure."
I allowed him into my home, shutting the door behind us. I saw Alaric looking over the entry room, looking at the photos on the walls and on the stands. I was confused though, wondering why he was here because his mate I guess absolutely loathes me - even though I did nothing to deserve it - so I'm wondering why he's being so nice to me and coming to my home.
"I wanted to apologize to you about Erik glaring at you." Alaric murmured, shrugging his shoulders, "he's just... a little bit of a dick, and he blames the Alphas for his own brother's issues."
"I understand." I grumbled, a little surprised but at the same time, it makes sense.
"Erik... he isn't a bad guy, but he does have his issues." Alaric admitted, bowing his head, "so, don't worry too much about him. He won't do anything bad. Okay? No matter what he does, he has good intentions."
I frowned, now really confused, "um, I guess so. As long as he doesn't do anything bad."
I saw the slight frown on Alaric's face briefly before it disappeared, "yes, you're right. Well, you have a good night, Kai."
With that being said, he opened the front door and left, closing it behind him. I was taken back, confused as to what the Hell was going on in this moment. Knowing that I was now not going to get any answers, I sighed and I turned around, heading back into the living room so I could finish my food and my movie. What a strange night indeed....
