Kai Evans
I watched in horror as Kit and dad fell out the window, effectively shattering glass everywhere and I heard their bodies hit the ground with a thud, snarls coming from outside that I knew were from dad. Gio got off of the bed and quickly put on his boxers and a pair of basketball shorts before he handed me my clothing. I got dressed in record speed, knowing we needed to get down there to stop them before they killed each other. I know Kit would only be protecting himself, but I don't want to see dad die just because he gave into his Wolf which can become VERY dangerous.
"Kai, what's going on?" Mom questioned, standing in the doorway with a confused look on her face, "why is your father fighting with Alpha Kit?"
I blushed, my hand reaching up to instinctively touch the marks on my neck, "dad broke the door down and saw us laying in bed. We didn't mate or anything, but they did Mark me. But basically dad went apeshit on Kit, and is fighting him outside. We need to go stop him!"
Mom frowned, "honey, you know I can't stop your father. I'm only human. You'll have to stop them yourself. And besides, none of y'all should've been marking each other, especially in this house. That was very stupid of you to do considering you knew how your dad would react."
"I did not know he would do this!" I protested, feeling Gio's hand gently grip my waist, "dad is being completely irrational! I am eighteen years old, he knew I was going to find a mate or in this case, mates. This is not a surprise at all. You and dad were marked and mated very fast too, so he can't be that much of a hypocrite."
Mom smiled slightly, "Kai, I know. I understand and I am happy for you. But you are your dad's treasure, and it has been very hard for him knowing he was going to have to one day give you away. I just think he didn't realize how quickly it was going to be, and his Wolf took over. He's just scared of losing you... I am too."
I made my way across my bedroom, wary of the glass, and I wrapped my arms around my mom, "mom, you won't ever have to worry about losing me. I'm still your child, I'm still dad's child. But I have my own life to live, and Gio and Kit, they are giving me it. They have been nothing but good to me, good to us, and here dad is attacking them for claiming me, but he should be happy that they did! My mates are strong, and it's not like we went all the way. He's being irrational."
Mom laid her hand on my shoulder and sighed, "Kai, he's being a father. Now, go and get him before he makes things worse."
I nodded, and I bolted out of my room and down the hall. I heard Gio's shout of protest and I heard his heavy footfalls as he chased after me. I made my way outside and I saw that we had gathered a crowd who were watching the fight with excitement clearly on their faces. But as I walked past them, I saw their eyes turn to me... no, more like the marks on my neck and that's when I began to hear the whispering through the crowds. I ignored them though, knowing that now wasn't the time to be worrying about what people thought about the Alphas marking me. I know I smelled of them, that's what happens when your mate marks you. And I know mine is twice as strong because I have two mates.
"Dad! Kit!" I yelled at the two large wolves (although Kit was significantly bigger) who were fighting in the middle of the circle, drawing blood with every slash and bite, "you two need to stop this! There's no reason to be fighting at all!"
Neither one listened to me, and I tried to mindlink Kit, but I was blocked out. I knew instantly that because dad's Wolf was challenging Kit, Kit's Wolf was no doubt pushing through, accepting the challenge because the Alpha would not dare to bow down before anybody. No doubt, the only person right now that Kit is locked on is my dad, and if dad didn't submit, it is very likely that Kit would have to kill him, to make an example out of him of what happens when you challenge the Alpha. I took a step forward, my heart racing in my chest.
"Kai, no." Gio hissed, wrapping his arms around my waist, "it's very dangerous for you right now to step out there. I can't even step out there either, because I would be getting in the middle of the challenge which is a big no-no. They will have to fight it out until one of them submits, and I know it won't stop until your dad either submits, or has to face Kit's wrath. I hope Kit can stop his Wolf before he ends up killing your dad though."
Fear ran through my body, and I knew I had to do something. I pushed Gio off of me, catching him by surprise, and I raced out to where the two wolves were fighting, knowing I needed to stop them somehow. I heard Gio's yell, and I knew he was following, but I did the most incredibly stupidest thing I could in that moment and I jumped in between as dad lunged at Kit. My whole body went numb as dad's claws sank into my chest, and dots formed in front of my eyes.
I could barely hear the yelling, but dad pulled his claws out of me, and shifted into his human form. His hands were stained in blood from where he had clawed me, and I read the horror clear on his face. I stumbled back and collapsed to the floor, but I was caught before I hit. I lifted up my head, and I saw that it was Kit who was holding me, fear in his eyes, and I saw his lips moving, but I didn't hear what he was saying.
Good, they stopped fighting...
Gio dropped to his knees, pressing his hands against the wounds on my chest, and my heart clenched at the heart wrenching look on Gio's face as he tried to stop the bleeding. I tried to lift my hand to touch his face, to tell him I was okay, but I knew I wasn't. Dad's claws had dug deep, and I was losing blood. I could feel it...
Moon goddess, I don't want to die...
And then, I faded into the darkness.
