"That's why!" Mr. Foster announced as if he knew something that no one know. If only I knew, he had indeed known.
"What! Mrs. Foster asked shouting, straining her throat further. I was sure by then that she will be mute very soon. Damn, that woman really knows how to shout. I could never.
"On my research, I don't think there will be any other girl better than her for this mission.'' He said boosting about his discovery. I just scoff getting really irritated by this mad family.
"But, Dad we can find another girl. I am damn sure there will be no good if this girl becomes my fake wife. I can hurt Amelia.'' He said glaring at me heavily.
I just narrowed my eyes, clearing my throat at him. He immediately looked away. I just shook my head.
"Amelia, dear. What do you think of this? You are more intelligent and practical than this idiot. I don't want to put you in danger. You are very important to us. I think you already know that." He said looking at her, smiling warmly.
"Excuse me!" I politely exit from that room as I know that this was a family, private talk.
But what pained me was that no one even acknowledged me. I felt useless there.
NO! Calla! You can't think like that! You are a strong girl!
"Or do you have a problem marrying a divorced man?" Mr. Foster continued speaking softly. That was the last thing I heard before leaving that room.
Of course, she will say no. She was such a good girl. I mean come on even I knew it. You can't ask such questions to that poor soul. Such foolish people!
I just roamed here and there, seeing my future home......temporarily...…
That's when I met a woman in her late thirties who I assumed to be a maid.
I went to her who was busy working in the kitchen.
"Hi!" I said smiling widely at her.
She was startled by the presence of me out of nowhere.
"Oh! I am sorry. I didn't mean to startle you. It's just I came by this side….." I said not knowing how to finish the sentence.
Her shocked face slowly turned into a happy one.
I smiled seeing that. It was always a wonder for me how people change their emotions on their faces.
"Hi! I am Diana, the maid here," she said smiling at me warmly.
"Hello! I am Calla. I am just a guest for now." I said not knowing how to introduce myself to her. In what name...…..
"Oh! A guest! I am sorry. Is there anything you need, mam?" Suddenly her whole demeanor changed into a mixture of fear and self-consciousness.
I frowned at that behavior. Am I a villain or a witch?
"I am just a guest, Mrs. Diana. You don't need to be self-conscious before me." I smiled warmly holding her on one shoulder, easing her worry. I guessed she was married because of the ring on her finger. So, this is how this mad family treats her. Cruel idiots!
"You know, they are discussing something, family matters. So, I took that as a cue to roam around as it was their personal affairs." I said shrugging my shoulders lightly.
"Oh! Is it?" She asked smiling politely. When I will be here, it sure going to take time to bring her out of her polite shell.
I shook my head and hopped on the nearby counter which can also allow me to talk to her properly. What can I say!
I just love counters!!
Her eyes widened in surprise when she saw me do this.
Yeah, my behavior and my clothes are poles apart....
I raised a questioning eyebrow at her playfully.
"What! Can't a girl sit in a place she likes?" I said folding my hands in front of my chest.
She burst out laughing seeing my frown.
I eventually smiled seeing her finally at ease.
These people's attitudes can destroy someone's smile at times.
Even my Ame was like that!
"So! What do you like to eat, Ms. Calla?" She asked with a big smile which was very genuine now.
I shook my head heavily at her. Suddenly, she was shocked like she feared my reaction. To put her at ease, I opened my mouth immediately.
"It's Calla for you, Mrs. Diane," I said glaring at her playfully.
Her tensed face bloomed into a beautiful smile. And I loved it....
"Then it's Diane for you!" She said chuckling.
I tilted my head at that.
"But I can't call you that since you are older than me!" I told her, pleading with my eyes to not force me to call her by her name. It's just........isn't me...
Her face fell at that. And just like that, my face formed a pout in confusion.
So, to coax her, I told her my sudden idea.
"How about Aunt?" I asked her with a smile on my lips.
Her face was filled with happiness and her eyes were filled with almost tears. She nodded enthusiastically.
I chuckled at her excitement.
"So, Aunt Diane, Can I get a juice? You know what I haven't eaten anything since morning." I asked her leaning forward, eyes pleading.
She scolded me for my carelessness. And that's how I got a special aunt who was going to be a piece of heaven in this hell.

General POV:
"I don't think, she is that evil like you said." Samuel's sister, Elle said while looking at the figure who was sitting on the counter, laughing heartfully with their main, Diane.
"Elle, You know nothing. She was a devil who was waiting for a good chance. Now that she got it, she jumped to it without any shame." He said every word dipped into venom.
"Really? How do you know about her?" Elle asked him raising her eyebrows in question.
Samuel looked away not able to meet her questioning eyes.
"Mmm........ I know when I meet a gold digger." He said with his stubborn hate.
Elle shook her head not believing this nonsense talk of her brother. She was sure that this girl who was laughing so genuinely had something with her brother.
Because her brother was usually calm like her father. For him to act unlike himself, for riling up this much she was sure as hell that she has an important place in her brother's life.
But, her brother loves Amelia like his life. It does even make sense to suspect her like an ex-girlfriend. Because Amelia and he are a thing since childhood. There was no way he will even look at a woman. That too her type?
Definitely no!
No hate, but she was not much of head-turning beauty. Just simple plain, below average.
So, there was no way her brother even look at her.
Then who was she? What does she have to do with his life that she affects him this much?
Not Amelia's level, but she affects him enough.
She doesn't seem like a gold digger.
But one can't judge a book by its cover.
She has to find it.
He left in the middle when Amelia was upset to search for this girl.
Even though to scold her, and insult her, it doesn't make sense for him to meet her at the cost of leaving Amelia alone.
So, She was damn sure that this was a bit more than hate.
And it will not take long to start something more from there.
After all, hate will be the most used cover when one doesn't admit something.
And she feared what if it's true.
She hoped that will not be true.
Because if it occurs, then everyone's life will become chaos
Which will cause more heartbreaks than joy.
When Elle was about to leave, she said to her brother without even looking at him.
"Sam, Not everyone outside our family is a gold digger. If a character like Amelia exists, then the same characters will exist under another soul, another person. So, Our Amelia is not only the angel. There are other angels too. I am not saying that girl was an angel. She may be a bitch too. But I don't think she is a gold digger judging by her net worth and her million-dollar company. So, think before judging." She said logically before leaving the place where she and her brother was shamelessly eavesdropping on Calla and Diane.
Elle shoat her head in disappointment on her way because she originally wanted to meet Calla, but seeing her in the kitchen and her brother eavesdropping on her told her this was not a good time.
Maybe, a good time will come..........
On the other hand, Samuel scoffed at his sister's little speech telling himself that this was all her drama, a facade to get close to him. He arrogantly smirked deciding that Calla didn't move on from him. She stooped this low to attain him. What a sick whore! Homewrecker!
But deep inside his heart, where a little bit of conscience resides in him said in a low whisper that what his sister said was indeed true.........
