My eyes widened on their own and a smile that can split my face into half made its way on my face.
Did I hear that right? Or is it one of my usual good-for-nothing dreams?
He said that he loves me.
Yeah! Deep inside my heart, I knew he was saying that to convince my father.
But nevertheless, I am on cloud nine. Why wouldn't I?
I could only imagine such words only in my dreams.
When I get to hear that even if it is fake, it means the world to me.
"He loves me!" I said in a very happy tone while facing my Ame.
He just motioned in the direction of my father with his eyes.
I bit my lips, closing my eyes tightly at my careless enthusiasm.
I am almost caught.
I quickly turned toward my father and smiled widely.
"See, He loves me, dad!" I said grinning at him, controlling the urge to dance at the moment.
My dad smiled widely almost like me but hey I am the most happy one here.
He held my right cheek in his right palm, stroking softly.
"If a single confession like this from him can make you this happy, then I think you made a good decision about this. I was thinking why you are you hurrying this marriage. But I got my answer before my own eyes. So, go sweetheart! Go ahead and marry him. You have my full blessings and support, dear." He said encouragingly.
"Took you long enough to know it! Such a slow tortoise!" My mom's voice boomed out of nowhere.
When we three turned our heads towards her, we found her leaning against the threshold of the door confidently.
I may got my attitude from my father, but I am sure she is the donor of my slaying confidence.
"I am not that clueless, you know? It's just I know my daughter more than you. I can tell just by one look at her face. You can't beat that with your millions of words ". She slayed, grinning smugly.
"You! How dare you say that? Are you planning on a contest? Fine by me. I know that Calla knows the best. She also knows that Michael is the definition of the best. Isn't Calla, sweetheart? Dad turned the plate towards me.

I should escape while I can!
" Calla, sweetie. Will you choose this oldie over your super mom?" She asked while attacking me with her irresistible puppy eyes.
"Oldie! OLDIE! VERONICA! HOW DARE YOU......." Dad shouted walking towards my mom.
I cleared my throat when I finally noticed some guest was standing beside me who was not supposed to see any of these childish fights of them.
"We have to go!" I said impatiently to him when he was watching them amused.
"MOM! DAD! DON'T INVOLVE ME IN THIS! I WILL BE GOING. BYE." I yelled over their noises before grabbing Samuel's arm to escape from here.
When I reached the threshold of the door, I turned towards them with my Ame's arm still in my hand.
"MOM! DAD! DON'T FORGET THE ENGAGEMENT PARTY! IT'S AFTER 5 DAYS ALONG WITH EMILY'S. OK! BYE!" I bid them goodbye.
"Ok dear, Sam please take care of my daughter!" My dad smiled warmly at Samuel.
"Yes, dear! She hides behind her strong girl facade almost all the time. So, take care of her on behalf of us, son" My mom said in a motherly tone that always melts my heart.
Samuel nodded at them, holding their eye contact and leaving with me before uttering two words.
Two words that pulled the strings of my heart....
Made me melt.....
Made me fall more in love with this man….
