Carl had once again arrived at his home, The Celestial Sect. His eyes were brimming with confidence as he stared at the huge dome-like building before the gate.
He ran away like worm, not knowing he was just a dragon in worm-skin!
That pathetic look on my uncle's face... I show him!
"Hmm, young one. What's your name? I don't remember seeing you with Hao back in the day." The female blue dragon spoke in his mind, as the orb glowed brightly.
"Carl, what should I call you... aha! I'll call you Blue!" Carl yelled, as stars blossomed around him, tearing down the intelligent and great image the blue dragon was painstakingly building up.
"Can't you change it? I don't like being called by the name of a colour." The blue dragon then continued with a sly voice, "If you persist, I'll call you... Silver!"
Carl froze.
What was this? If I summoned you, and you suddenly rose to the seventh layer of heaven while yelling out 'I have returned, great master... Silver!' what would the world think of me?
"Cough cough, that must've been a slight misunderstanding on my end. Haha." Carl's eyes flashed in a brilliant light as he finally felt enlightened, and had been shown the true way. He had a broad grin as he came up with a beautiful name, "I'll call you... Jade! Although Azure would've been more appropriate given your colour, but that sounds weird coming out from my mouth."
"Ok, Carl. I'm Jade. Now let's go do something interesting, I'm bored." Jade yawned telepathically as Carl sighed.
Well, she does have a point.
Carl let out a deep breath as he walked past the gates, and towards the dome before him. His heart was racing as he took quick light, and graceful steps towards the sect that once... who am I kidding?
I'm going in there to face that toad of a uncle who banished me! Who gave him the right?
It's a good thing that I, Carl wasn't weak unless I would've fallen into his trap like hair in the drain. Absolutely, defenceless.
He had just walked into the hall inside the dome, when a black haired boy wearing white robes suddenly called out to him with a mocking grin on his face.
"Carl? Hey guys, check it out. The trash has returned! Why don't we show him the door?" The boy said as he pointed his index finger at the door behind Carl. A smile on his ugly face.
Carl just stared at the boy with a blank expression. Since when was trash given the right to talk? Was he looking for a beating?
A crowd had already gathered, wanting to see some action take place after getting bored beyond reasonable doubt for hours.
"Hey, isn't that the Carl who was banished for being unable to transcend to the 8th Mortal Grade? How come he got back here, and it looks like he's gotten into trouble."
"This is no good, that's Fred! He's already at the 7th Mortal Grade and some 8th Mortal Grade cultivators are with him!"
"This is bullying! There's no way Carl will survive this! Where are the guards, why are they watching without moving?"
Truly, as the students speculated. The guards were watching the entertaining battle with intrigued expressions. A group of boys gathered to beat up a single piece of trash, this is truly interesting.
Carl on the other hand let out a sigh, it seems his uncle isn't here to see this, but whatever. Anyone who picks on him... will suffer!
"Carl, I suggest you get out of here before we teach you a-" The black haired boy had barely finished his speech before Carl extraordinarily disappeared from sight. He was shocked... what was that?
Bang!!!
The sound of fist connecting to flesh and bone rang out, as a boy who was right besides the black haired boy, Fred was blown into the air.
Silence descended upon the young cultivators, as everyone held their breaths.
Such power.
Wasn't Carl at the 9th Grade just yesterday? How can he become so strong under 24hrs! This- This...
"Huh, I missed! Damn, I was aiming at Fred, and that poor boy got hit instead. Tsk tsk, this power is too hard to control." Carl said as he appeared right before Fred, with a threatening glint in his eyes.
Fred shivered. It seems like the ant has gotten stronger, but how?
Before he could complete his contemplation, a fist came hurtling towards his face from Carl. Fred was unable to lift up his hands in defence as he was punched in his face, spitting out blood as his head was thrown the o the side.
Carl shook his fists arrogantly as he let out a disappointed sigh. These bags of trash were just too weak, it almost seems like he was... bullying them!
"Guys, did you see that! That guy was blown away by just one punch, Carl's invincible!"
"It seems like he has received enlightenment from the gods, and created a powerful cultivation technique. What a lucky bastard he is."
"Damn, did he drink an ocean of elixirs? Look at Fred, I don't think he's able to stand the pain."
The crowds opinion of Carl had took a 180 degree turn after seeing Carl deal with Fred with such ease and indifference.
"Stop this nonsense! All of you scram! Get out of here!" Andrew thundered as he ran towards Carl with all his might, tears nearly poured out his eyes as he spots Carl standing in the sect.
The students frantically scampered out of Andrew's warpath with dreadful expressions on their faces.
"Nephew! You're back!" Andrew yelled as he stopped before Carl, and composed himself. His eyes glistening as he looked like someone who had finally saw an angel in disguise.
Thank the gods he alive and well with no injuries whatsoever, I feel like taking a huge break for some years or so.
Andrew quietly rubbed his neck as he thought of what would've happen- better not rethink it, and focus on living.
"Haha, Uncle. Are you regretting chasing me now? I cannot imagine the amount of fear that has been instilled into your soul by now." Carl said with a malicious grin as he looked up to his uncle with a brilliant glint in his eyes.
This kid...
"The Celestial Sect has decided to allow you retake the awakening exam. If your results are plausible, you shall remain in the sect. Now follow me." Andrew kept a straight face as he spoke, before turning around and walking towards a specific side of the hall.
Carl followed, not forgetting to show Fred his middle finger though.
After a few minutes, they arrived with Andrew before an elevated platform at the eastern part of the hall. On the platform was a small golden box with various glowing runic arrays and circles forming a pattern on the box.
Carl, and the students who saw the box suddenly became high. What was this?
A 1st Grade Soul Scanning Tool!
Carl unhesitatingly kneeled and placed his hands on the box, making Andrew who was about to give an explanation freeze. But who could blame Carl, hadn't he said it before?
Carl slowly entered the dark space again, but wasn't as anxious as before. He quickly spotted the wisp, making him leap with joy!
There it is again!
The wisp finally grew to the size of a meter, but before it could explode after showing itself, and absorb everything, a golden energy suddenly blossomed around Carl's consciousness, illuminating the dark space in an instant.
Carl was moved to tears as he opened his eyes with a smile, only to meet the shocked expressions of the students and even his uncle. What was it?
Why were the looking as if they had seen the devil rising from the abyss? Like a monster had appeared before them?
It was until he stared back at the 1st Grade Soul Scanning Tool that his entire body froze... what was this?
