Nikita sat on the grass of the gardens in her father's palace, wearing the clothes she once dreaded. The light silk robes, colors with beautiful flower designs, and her hair put up in ceremonial knots. She grumbled and removed the hundreds of pins in her hair, she had forgotten what life had been like. She lived in a world far so different from what she had been accustomed to in the mortal realm.
The skies here were dark and the trees replaced the buildings she had walked passed for months, back in London. There was no wind and water flowed to all parts of her world. The people weren't people at the very least and she knew everyone, she was the ruler of this God-forsaken place. What would she give to these people, she was going to be a deity, but that couldn't happen, she needed a ruler for the sun temple.
There hasn't been a record of a valid candidate for centuries what makes her father think this time will be any different. She sat up when she heard footsteps approaching her.
"Princess, Its almost dusk you need to get inside."
"I need a few more minutes and I might come in late." She replied as he sat beside her.
"The king demands an audience in his banquet."
" Let him keep demanding he'll know his place soon enough." She said and he pushed back staring at her horrified. But she remained indifferent and just stared out into the scenery.
"He is your father, you don't have a right to speak to him like that, not just yet. He cares deeply-"
"Bullshit! Care? Him? You've become pretty funny over the years Lapis, which time and place has he ever cared about a living soul?! Even the wife he had claimed was his life, why is he still breathing?!"
"Because he had a daughter to take care of." He replied anger rising in his blood now.
"Did earth's air mess up your brain? You're worrying me, this is not you."
"Tell the maids that I will not be eating and not to sending anything up and I will not be joining that party of his at any circumstance." She said and began to get up to walk away.
"If you don't go he'll have my head, Princess."
"The R.I.P my friend."
"Nikita! Honestly though. What's making you so angry?" He shouted as she began to walk away.
"I'm not angry, I'm merely psychologically preparing myself for this hell hole." He stared her as she walked away, but all she could think about was her life in the mortal realm with Kingsley and cash and that cozy penthouse Kingsley lived in and the warm conversations around the fire.
She had found his life quite interesting. With al the good hearted people on earth, she thought, didn't deserve someone like her and neither did she it. One thing she was definetly sure of is that she would go back after the ceremony and forget all about a world she once knew was home.
