Chapter 31 - Chapter 9

Kinglsey's eyes widened as he approached the familiar figure, slowly. His heart began to race, could it really be her? Had she come back? But his smile quickly turned to a frown, as he saw not a woman's figure but that of a man he had once seen with Nikita. He had beautiful silver like hair and violet eyes that stared right at Kingsley's soul. He was exotic and exquisite, were all mythical creatures beautiful?

"You must be the human Nikita's been staying with?" He asked with such a soft voice Kingsley nearly blushed.

"I am, who are you?" Kingsley asked and the man fell on his knees and put his face on the ground.

"My name is Ezra, I'm one of the angels of the guard from the sun temple, of my people and I need your help. You're the only one I know who can talk her out of a mistake she won't be able to take back." Ezra said and Kingsley swallowed. He stood there looking down at the man who was on his knees. This was all ridiculous, was any of it even real?

When she had left, life had gone back the way it had been, it was like she had never even existed, so it seemed unlikely that this was all his imagination. But as much as he told himself that he knew that was not true. The memories he had of that fox girl, were real, what he felt for her was as real as anything else on earth. The pain of his heart shattering was real. She had left to marry someone else for the good of her people. What did that have to with him now?

"I'm human what will it change if she saw me? She left to go perform her duty. I can't be in the way of that. She's an independent being, she can take care of herself no matter it is I say to her. You've come for the wrong person. And aren't you in love with her? Why can't you help her?" Kingsley said and Ezra looked at him horrified.

"In love? What do you mean by love?" Ezra asked and looked at him and the cold wind passed through them and the thousands of people passing through that road they were on, and all Kingsley sighed. She had asked the same question; did they really not know?

"Why should I help her, that's all I've ever done." Kingsley said.

"Do you really not know why? No way." Ezra said standing up staring up at him.

"Is there something you should tell me?" Ezra shook his head and scoffed under his breath.

"You really have no idea? How is that possible? Is that why you've been on earth all this time?" Ezra asked mystified. Kingsley's brow arched and he asked him what he meant over and over again.

"Kingsley, what I mean is for Nikita to tell you, but I too doubt that she knows it either." Before Kingsley could say anymore, he went unconscious only for him to wake up in a place he knew not of, but somewhere he felt like he knew. Where the sun never rises and where waters never flow towards oceans.
