Andor.
"My lord, does this mean that she would join our pack?" Edmund asked.
"No.we, we are to keep her safe until the threat is passed," I replied.
"I do not think that she would agree to come. She is a spoilt princess and would take the threat to her life as a joke, or worse, feel like her father could protect her." Ivar added.
We were getting fresh horses that we would use on our journey back home, ours had been over-worked the past few days, and I had no plans of resting until we got back home.
"Do you think that she would come?" Edmund asked me.
"It is her choice to make. Make sure we have enough bread to last us for our journey and water. Those are the things that we must focus on now." I replied.
He nodded back and left to ensure that our supplies were intact. A few moments later, we were joined outside the barn by King Isaac, and by his side stood princess Jennifer. She clutched in her arms a small travel bag.
"My lord." I bowed to king Isaac; then, I turned to the princess. "Does this mean that you would be joining us?"
"Yes." She replied. "I also have not gotten the chance to thank you for helping rescue me. I am very grateful."
"It is nothing. I was following orders as I am now."
Edmund returned with our supplies, packed and ready to go. The father and daughter hugged tightly before she got on a horse.
"He will keep you safe." King Isaac told Jennifer."
"I would certainly try," I replied.
The main gates parted ways, and we rode through. We rode for hours before anyone said anything. It was Jennifer who first broke the silence.
"What is your village like?" She asked.
"A little bit like yours, but your castle is bigger than mine," I replied.
"Are you married?"
"No," I replied. "But I have someone I intend to marry the moment I get back."
"She must be a lucky woman." She replied.
"Luck is not real," I answered.
She smiled back.
"You ride well," I said. "Where did you learn?"
"I forced my dad to make someone teach me. He would do anything to make his only daughter happy."
I smiled. "You are lucky in that regard."
We kept riding until we got to the village. The main gate was opened, and the first person I observed walking toward me was my mother; she had a massive smile.
I got off the horse and hugged her tightly. "You look like you have not been sleeping. Did you miss me that much?"
She laughed. "No. But I miss my husband. Someone else has been sad since you left; she blamed the gods that they did not allow her to spend time with you before sending you off."
"Where is she?" I asked.
"In her room. No one knew when you would return."
"I would go to her."
Just then, Jennifer had already come down from her horse and stood beside me.
"This is princess Jennifer. She is king Isaac's daughter, and I have been tasked to keep her safe."
"I am honoured to be in your presence, Luna Agatha." She said with a bow.
"You are the most beautiful creature that I have ever had the pleasure of being In its presence. The pleasure is all mine." My mother replied.
Jennifer's cheek turned red.
"My mother would make sure you are well taken off. Do not wander past the main gate." I replied.
She nodded. "Thank you."
I smiled back. After the introduction between my mother and the princess was over, I sprinted through the castle and knocked on Iris's door.
The first knock went unanswered, so I knocked once more, and this time the door fell open.
Iris looked as beautiful as ever; her long blonde hair fell over her shoulders.
"My lord," She gasped. "You are back."
I ignored her and pulled her body into an embrace. "I have not been a happy man without you by my side."
She was startled and understandably so. This was the first time I was breaking the physical touch barrier between us, but a few moments later, she sunk into my arms.
"I have missed you too." She replied. "But not as much as you did because you come to me in my dreams every night."
"Are you a seer?" I asked.
"You are the only one I see in my dreams," She answered.
We let each other go. "I want you to come somewhere with me,"
"Where?" She asked.
"My place," I replied. "It has a great view."
We both shared a horse, and I led her through the trees until we got to mount Verdansk.
We came down to the foot of the mountain, and I helped her down the horse.
"Climb on my back," I said.
"Why?" She asked.
"We are going to the top,"
"I can climb up there myself,"
"I know. But, I want to carry you." I explained with an outstretched hands
"I would prefer to climb myself; thank you." She retorted.
Before I could say anything else, she had started scaling the rocks by herself; she moved swiftly, holding tight to any protruded rock or open space. She latched onto them and used them to propel herself forward.
I sighed.
Satisfied that she wasn't going to fall, I climbed after her. She got to the top first and jumped In excitement.
"I had no idea that you were this competitive," I said.
"There are many things that you don't know about me." She replied.
"Like what?" I replied.
"Wouldn't you rather find out yourself?" She asked.
"I suppose that would be fun."
"More fun than this?" I wondered as I pulled her closer to me. I could feel her breath close to me as I gave into my utmost desire. Our lips crashed into each other, and my hands slid down to her waist.
