Chapter 19 - COMICON

musical had already started when Ash and Tom reached there. This musical followed storyline. It showed the story of Peter Parker from spider bite all the way to his fight with the green goblin. The boy who was Peter Parker was around 15-16 years old and he was really going in-depth about his character. When the musical was in the part where it showed Gwen's death Ash really felt Peter Parker's emotions.

Ash thought that he was a good actor that's when an idea struck his mind that he can ask this boy to play Olive's big brother in his movie. He had the build he needed and he proved his acting skills earlier. Earlier he was doing flips and acrobatics. He also had a good face so Ash decided to talk to him after this.

"Tom, I want to cast that boy in my movie so where can I ask for his information," Ash asked Tom.

"It looks like you have a good eye," Tom was also impressed by that boy's acting so he said to Ash, "I will ask Stan about his information later."

"Thank you, Tom"

The musical ended after a while and both of them busied themselves again with other activities in the Comicon.

MEANWHILE:-

Stan was busy running here and there to see if everything is going according to their arrangements. He loved comics more than anything and had spent his whole life dedicated to his work. Everything was going great but after the RACP(Regulatory authority for comic publications) everything went downhill. He was looking for a way to revive comics but nothing seemed to work.

He thought that if only he can make movies about his characters(Babies) then they might get back to their previous position. But due to a common perception among the general public and the continuous declining popularity of comics no one was willing to take a risk.

That's when he received a piece of news that the owner of Starline film company had come to the Comicon and he was very interested in comics. Even though Starline wasn't the best of the best but right now they needed a start so he might try Starline.

But he saw a semblance of hope when he heard that the name of the owner of Starline was Ash Wilson. He thought that Ash was very interested in the comics so he might make a movie about comics.

That's when he took his phone and called Tom. He told Tom to invite Ash to a nearby hotel for dinner with them. He also told DC staff about this too.

Comicon started around 1:00 pm and lasted until 9:00 pm. After the Comicon ended Tom told Ash that Stan Lee had invited them for dinner to which Ash agreed happily. So they went to a nearby hotel where a few people already waiting for them along with Stan Lee.

"Hey, come and sit here Ash, we have been waiting for you," Stan lee invited Ash to sit beside himself. Ash went and sit there.

Stan lee stood up and said, "Everyone this is Ash Wilson and he is the owner of Starline film company."

"Ash, You already know me but I will introduce myself, I am Stan Lee head of the Marvel comics." Stan Lee formally introduced himself and continued talking, "This gentleman here is Mr. Doughlus wheeler-Nicholson Head of DC comics."

"Nice to meet you. You can call me Dough." A man in his thirties said and extended his hand and Ash handshakes him.

After that Stan Lee introduced other people one by one.

"Ash, First of all, I would like to apologize to you for inviting you here with an ulterior motive without informing you beforehand."

"Don't worry I will take it as a great opportunity to have dinner with you."

Hearing Ash said that stan relaxed a little so he said to Ash, "Ash you might know that the comic industry isn't doing well recently so we were thinking maybe you can help us a little bit."

"Oh! And How may I do that?"

"We were hoping maybe you can invest in our comic characters and show them on the big screen."

"So you want to turn your comics into movies?"

"Yes, We have to step up our game if we don't do that we will be out of the game before we know it" It was Dough who answered his question,

Ash heard them and didn't say anything for a minute and when he broke his silence he said, "To be honest with you I myself am very optimistic about comic-based movies. And I mean it when I say that I mean it since I am a director myself. But making a deal with you right now will be a very tough decision for me."

"May I ask why?"

"Yes, of course, It's tough because it will very expensive to make those movies and we won't be able to pay the cost."

"You said right now and it doesn't mean never. Or does it?"

"You are absolutely correct about that."

"Then how much time you will need?" Dough asked him, To be honest, he was getting tired of the comic business that he inherited from his family. He thought about selling it many times but he couldn't bring himself to actually sell it since it contained the hard work of four generations of family. So he decided to give it a last try and that's when he met Ash.

"I said I couldn't pay you right now but I have a counter offer."

"And what would that be?"

"That will be, I will open two subsidiary companies Marvel and DC respectively and these companies will own all rights of all characters. These companies will be fully owned by Starline and we will produce at least five movies every five years from each company."

"Since all rights will be owned by Starline essentially, what will we gain from it?"

"That's when things get interesting. I will give you a 5% share of the box office collection of every movie we make and you guys can continue producing those comics. And if movies are successful then comic sales will also increase."
