On Tuesday officials from Marvel and DC came to his office to finalize the deal. Stan Lee and Douglas also came too. So they started to discuss the deal. Marvel and DC wanted to get the best from the deal with Starline so after a long and hard series of fresh negotiations, Ash had to be reluctant and give them a 6% share of the box office.
After that, they signed the contract Ash told them, "Now that we have signed the deal first thing I want you to do is that I want to keep this deal a secret."
"Why is that?" Douglas asked.
"Just announce that 'we will be establishing our own movie company which will especially produce our comic superhero movies' "
"Is it part of your strategy?"
"Yes, it is. And I want both of you to announce it one after another and make it sound like both companies had a falling out with each other and their cooperation is broken."
"I don't think we understand what are you getting at?"
"Why would you want both companies to brake their cooperation when both of them belong to you?"
Stan Lee who was watching it from the sidelines said, "I think I understand what you are trying to do and in fact, we did something like that in the past and it was very successful. It is a tried and tested method so Marvel agrees."
Douglas didn't understand so he asked, "Mr. Wilson I would like to learn more about what you're planning before agreeing."
"What I am saying is increase your cooperation but keep it a secret from the general public and create an image that both Marvel and DC had a falling out and are fighting with each other over making movies. It will increase our exposure and the public will talk more about us." Ash looked at Douglas whose face looked like saying he finally understands it.
"I now understand and DC will also cooperate. After all, this method will increase comic sales too."
"So the in the first step DC will make an announcement and say that they have established a movie company without mentioning Starline. And after that Marvel will also make an announcement but the difference is that they will make it sound like they did it in a haste after DC."
"Won't that make Marvel's reputation plummet?"
"That happens to the low-quality companies and don't worry it is a give and take relationship. You taking the first hit doesn't mean you will be taking all the hits. This time it is your next time it will be them and sometimes it will be me too."
After Ash assured them they didn't have any more questions so they concluded their meeting.
Tom and Jim also came to Starline to sign their contract. Jim was a little nervous and seeing that Tom started to talk with him and soon they become acquaintances with each other. Jim didn't know if signing with Starline was a good idea or not so he asked Tom and Tom told him, "I won't say anything about the company since I don't much about it but the boss of this company is a fairly good young man and movie you are taking a part in also has a good script so I would suggest you to give it a try."
Since Ash was busy in the meeting so they waited for him. After the meeting was over Ash went to his office and they followed him.
In the office, Ash was sitting on his chair and Lilia was also present there. When they came in Ash signaled them to sit down in front of him. Then he told Lilia to give them the contract.
Lilia handed over the contracts to both of them. Ash told them, "This is the contract I prepared for you so please take a look at it."
Tom and Jim took the contract and started to read it. Tom was very impressed with the contract. It was a fairly balanced contract. So he said, "I'm very impressed with both the contract and script so I will sign it."
"I will sign it too," Jim who was reading the contract said. Even though he was new to this but his main goal wasn't being an actor so he signed the contract after all he had nothing to lose by signing it.
After saying that they both signed the contract and movie. Laila took the contract with her and went out.
"It will be a pleasure working with both of you," Ash said to both of them.
"Your script is amazing hope your direction will be as good as your writing," Tom replied.
"Oh, You are in for a surprise."
"I like that confidence.''
"Anyways, Be ready for the pitch meeting tomorrow." And then Ash looked at Jim and said, "This is the script of the movie. Please read and be ready for the pitch meeting tomorrow."
"Don't worry I will read it thoroughly and thank you for giving me this chance," Jim said.
"You are worth taking a chance so don't thank me and just do your best."
"That I will do."
After chatting for a while they left and Ash was left alone in his office once again so he busied himself with work.
He took a look at the actors working in his movie.
For the role of Olive, Misty was perfect Ash thought. For the role of father and mother, Colin Cowdrey and Sarah Taylor and the role of uncle Basil D'Oliveira were chosen from his talent agency. Tom and Jim were chosen to play the role of Grandpa and brother respectively.
