"I will give you a 5% share of the box office collection of every movie we make and you guys can continue producing those comics. And if movies are successful then comic sales will also increase."
"Isn't 5% a little too low?" One man presents there asked.
"I am not giving you a share in profits what I am giving you is a share in the whole box office collection. Think of it as even if the movie flops we will pay you many."
"What if you didn't produce any movie in that case all rights will belong to you for free." another man presents there asked.
"That's why I added 5 movies every 5 years. If we can't do that then all rights will be reverted to you. and after 30 years this 5-year deal will be negated."
After hearing all terms from Ash all sitting in the room somehow felt relieved. They thought this might be the breakthrough they needed and they had already talked with many film companies but no one was interested in their comics.
Even though Douglas was ready to sign the deal but he still said, "Can we give you an answer tomorrow since we want to have a discussion with our staff about this."
"We too will like to give an answer tomorrow," Stan Lee also followed the suit. He also wanted to discuss it with his staff and lawyers
"Yeah, sure. How about it, You guys can come to my company on Tuesday and I will ask my lawyer to prepare to sign the deal and my lawyer will also be present there so we can have a discussion again."
"That's a good idea. Let's do it this way then." Both Douglas and Stan Lee agreed.
After they finished dinner Ash booked a room in the same hotel and he will go back tomorrow morning. Before going back to his room he asked Stan Lee about that boy who played
Stan Lee told him that his name is Jim Neesham and he is a national gold medalist acrobat. He had to give up acrobatics because of an injury 2 years ago but in those 2 years, he joined an acting school. When Ash heard about him he told Stan to inform him if he want to be signed by STA. To which Stan replied yes with enthusiasm.
After chatting with Stan Lee for a while he went back to his room and massaged Uncle Sam.
Hello, Uncle Sam, Can you come to my company tomorrow? I have something I wanted to discuss.'
The next day he boarded the plane and went back to his company. When he reached the company he found out that Uncle Sam had already arrived so he asked him,
"Uncle Sam, you came early?"
"I was free today so I decided to come here and see if everything is alright in your company after all I'm your legal advisor."
"Anyway, how was your trip to San Fransisco?" Serena asked
"It was very fruitful actually. I found two actors for the roles in my movie and not only that I am going to sign two very potentially successful franchises," He said with a very wide grin. Serena wanted to say but Ash stopped her and said, "I'm not going to change my mind so don't even try it. This is a risk we have to take sooner or later because we need a franchise to represent our studio. A franchise is important for a studio because in a franchise one movie hypes the other and creates a chain reaction that means more profits."
"That is if the first movie becomes a super hit."
"Well, that is true for other movie franchises but a superhero franchise is different."
"How so?"
"Because in superhero franchise there is a concept called soft reboot. If one superhero fails at the box office then we can make another superhero movie which might succeed."
After that Ash explained the whole Marvel and DC ordeal to Serena and Uncle Sam. He told them about the deal with them.
"So that's how you are going to play then it might work. And I won't say anything since we not losing any money for now or at least we won't lose until we make a movie."
Serena thought they lose much from this deal and if this deal actually became successful then It might become the face of the company. So she didn't say much against it and agreed with it.
After that Ash talked with Uncle Sam for a while about preparing a contract for Marvel and DC. Uncle Sam went back after Ash told them about all the details.
After Uncle Sam was gone Serena told him, "Since you have found all the actors for your movie I will arrange a pitch meeting with them and you can start shooting before the start of the next week."
"What about the crew?"
"Don't worry about it. I talked about it to Mr. Bairstow and won't start filming
"Oh! That's great. please send my thanks to Mr. Bairstow."
"And one more thing, Your cinematographer is going to be Liam Plunkett and he is very picky so if you aren't a top-notch director he will take over your job and you might be sidelined."
"You went ahead and did it. Didn't you?"
"Well if are able to direct it properly and control the crew as you said then he will not interfere."
"Ah, He will never get that chance, and just prepare for the pitch meeting on Wednesday."
