"Tonight, there is a lot to do, and believe me, you guys will enjoy every bit of It! Tonight, we are going to choose the prettiest girl in our school and the queen for tonight!"
The female students shouted again and the DJ played short music. But a particular someone sneered "I'm really going to be the two he just mentioned." she said and the class captain who was next to her, rolled his eyes in disgust!
"Also, the most handsome boy in our school." he continued "And the king of tonight will be chosen tonight!"
The male students shouted and clapped their hands.
"He is the owner of that!" Jane said with a sly smile. "Who will win him in that?" She scoffed!
"So if you want to be the queen for tonight and you know you are sweaty already, quickly go inside the bathroom after I'm done now and retouch your makeup!"
"And the guys, quickly bring out your handkerchief and wipe your sweat away because you all are looking perfect already!" The guys beamed with a smile as they felt proud of what he said.
"Now! Let's start the party!!!! Hip!!!" He concluded his speech and they all cheered him with shouts and claps and he dropped the microphone and left the hall.
The hall became a mess immediately Lucian left the podium as every female in the hall started rushing to the bathroom to retouch their makeup! The guys too were wiping their sweats and restyling their hair.
"Let me pass!"
"How many minutes will it take you to retouch your makeup? Should we be blamed for your ugliness?? Why must you stay there forever??".
"Exactly! No makeup can make her pretty! How I wish she knows that!"
"Who do you think will win the prettiest girl and queen tonight??" A young pretty girl asked her friend while they were waiting outside the bathroom for those that were inside to come out.
"What do you think? I'm the one of course!" Another girl replied and picked a strand of her hair which she later dropped behind her ear in a pretty way.
"You sure like to fly high." The two girls heard a sweet and tender voice behind them which made them turn immediately.
They turned toward the direction of the voice and saw Jane walking to them with her eyes fixed on them.
"Do you really think you can beat me today?" She looked at them from their toes to their head and nodded negatively "You really are not worth my competitors!" She said, scoffed, and entered the bathroom.
"What a bitch! I really want to kick her silly ass!" The girl that told her friend she would be the one to win the prettiest girl, said with anger and wanted to rush to her to give her some beating but was held back by her friend.
"Let her be! She's known to be like that. She will surely meet her mate one day!" Replied the first girl and they both entered the bathroom after Jane.
Soon, the females were all done and were returning back to their seats.
The MC took the Mic again
"Hello, guys! I believe we are all set for the next thing on our agenda! Now, it's time for the appointment of the prettiest girl of tonight and the queen of our entire school and also the time to choose the most handsome guy tonight. Also the king of our entire school." Announced the MC and the students replied with hurrays and claps.
Rumors started in the hall as everyone wanted to know who would win the two posts.
Jane searched the hall and did not see Lucian or Mabel. She started getting worried. She wanted to show off to Mabel but Mabel wasn't even there! She had a plan for Lucian but Lucian was nowhere around her. She wanted Mabel to be there when she would be called out as the prettiest girl and the queen of their school but seems she was bound to be disappointed as Mabel didn't look like she would be coming in, anytime soon.
Christabel and Georgia walked into the hall, fully dressed and looking so beautiful in their flowing dinner gowns!
The two caught the breath of some guys with their beauty and only then did Jane feel a mixture of happiness and anger!
She was happy because she now had hope that Mabel would come. Seeing the fact that her friends were already at the party was a long and thick strand of hope for Jane that Mabel was on her way already.
But she was angry because she saw how pretty Christabel and Georgia looked and for the first time that night, she felt insecure about her beauty and she doubted being the prettiest girl there the night. To make the matter worse, the two girls wore the same trending dinner gown like hers but theirs was even a bit pricey! They clearly outmatch her according to her thoughts!
"They might be prettier but no one actually knows them anyway! I'm more popular than they are! And I'm sure I'm still more beautiful than them!" She kept thinking but the more she thought about it, the more she got angrier!
"Hmmph! Well...I'm sure Mabel won't dress this much. Surely, she isn't as rich as them! My opponent tonight is Mabel and I'm 70% sure she won't wear any trending clothes. She won't want to make her uncle go bankrupt! Hahaha." she laughed to herself and the thought succeeded in making her feel a bit at ease.
